Colour Creations Stampin’Up! Wild Wheat

This week our Colour Creations Blog Hop is featuring Wild Wheat, and I have three different projects again this week. The first is a masculine card featuring the Wildlife Wonder stamp set, combined with a panel from the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper.

I have kept the card quite simple, just the panel of DSP on a cardbase of Basic Black, and the stamping straight onto the DSP. The ink colours used are Wild Wheat and Black, with a touch of Pebbled Path for the birds and at the base of the “wheat”.
I have created a free Tutorial for this card, just click this link to find it.

My second project is a Scrappy Tag, meaning a tag using up some of those scraps and bits and pieces that I didn’t want to throw out. I have used the negative from a Die cut from a previous project, sponged in Wild Wheat ink, plus little bits and pieces of DSP. The butterfly is die cut from a scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock, and I’ve added some In Color Dots in Wild Wheat.

And my final project is another card, featuring the Zoo Crew DSP.

I have used Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the flowers on the black and white DSP, adding in some Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana to brighten the colours a little. And I’ve used the Sending Smiles stamp set and matching Sending Dies.

Now it’s time to hop on over to the very talented Rachel Palmieri to see what she has created with Wild Wheat.

If at any time you find a broken link, please go to the blog of this week’s host of the Colour Creations Blog Hop Cathy Proctor, who will have a list of all of the participants in the Blog Hop, where I’m sure you will find a heap more inspiration.

Happy Stamping, and Happy Hopping,
Chris

Colour Creations Stampin’Up! Moody Mauve

I have three different projects to share with you today, featuring the new In Color Moody Mauve.
Who likes it?
Who doesn’t?
I’m hearing a lot of different opinions on this colour.
Personally, I LOVE it!!
So here are my projects.
The first one is a card that I have made using up some of those scraps of watercolour paper.

I have used some of the scraps of watercolour paper and coloured it with some Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat and Mossy Meadow ink and a Water Painter, before die cutting them with some of the Meadow Dies.
I have also die cut the same in Mossy Meadow cardstock, and then overlaid the flower onto the Mossy Meadow, which gives a slight raised appearance to the flower, but also gives a shadowed effect where you can see the tiniest amount of the dark Mossy Meadow behind the flower.

Next I am going to share with you some paper roses that I have been making.
My 17 year old son is displaying some of his wonderful woodturned items at a Wedding Fair this weekend and I was given the opportunity to create some flower displays to complement his items.
These roses are going to be part of this display but at this stage are just individual roses, four in Mood Mauve, and one Very Vanilla.
(I love Moody Mauve paired with Very Vanilla, simply gorgeous!)

And my last project is another card, this one a slightly different fold to a standard card.

The base of the card is a single layer which doesn’t open, with the opening card attached in front.

I have used some Blackberry Bliss for the base of this card to add some depth of colour.

I do hope that I have managed to help you to love Moody Mauve a little better, but if you need some more inspiration, keep on hopping along to Rachel Palmieri.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop Cathy Proctor, who will have a list of all the participants in the Blog Hop.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy hopping,
Chris

Technique Blog Hop – Masking

I am starting to get back into some group crafting and sharing, which is exciting, and a bit confronting, after such a long time of crafting on my own.
My first Blog Hop today, is with the Crafty Collaborations group, and we are focusing on the technique of Masking, one of my all time favourite techniques because it can be done in so many ways.
Today, I have decided to keep my card very simple, and I’ve featured the leaf stamp from the Sale-a-Bration set Beautifully Happy.

I have used my Stamparatus to keep everything lined up, and used a one inch strip of scrap paper across a piece of Basic White cardstock, as a mask.

I’ve then inked up my stamps with Soft Seafoam Ink, and using a Sponge Dauber, added some Shaded Spruce and a tiny touch of Cajun Craze ink around the edge of the leaves.

Once I felt I was happy with the leaves, I removed the mask, and stamped a sentiment from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set.

This is such a simple technique, but so effective. I’ve layered this onto some Shaded Spruce to frame the main layer, and then onto a Soft Seafoam card base.

Here is where you will find the other’s taking part in the Blog Hop.
Happy Hopping, and Happy Stamping!
Chris

Heart of Christmas Week 6

Heart of Christmas 2019
Welcome to another Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, I do hope you have been enjoying all the wonderful inspiration from the Art of Heart team.
Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper Card 2 Stampin' up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping
I had a massively busy weekend, last weekend, and in amongst everything else, I ran a Launch party for the 2019 Holiday Catalogue at my home, with some lovely ladies, who wanted some ideas on making cards on a budget, and using up left over bits and pieces.
And what an awesome challenge that is, don’t we all have those left over bits and pieces?
And don’t we all want to find ways to craft on a budget?  Well, I know I have to.

The ladies made two cards at the Catalogue Launch party, but we looked at different ideas and combined different things, depending on what they liked.
I started off showing them just how simple a card can be when it’s made with some gorgeous Designer Series Papers, and some left over scraps of cardstock to stamp a sentiment on.
Night Before Christmas DSP Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set Stampin' Up! Simple Stamping Beginners Card 2019 Holiday Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping
Ok yes, I did add a couple of red rhinestones to the card, just because I like a little something shiny on my Christmas Cards.
A very simple card, great for a beginner cardmaker or stamper.

Next we added some of those pesky leftover strips of cardstock – you know the ones!!

Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper Card Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping

This one is a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) of a card on page 24 of the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalogue, but using some of the bits and pieces from my stash.

And this next one started out as a CASE from the same page, but we decided to fussy cut some of the Christmas stockings from the papers to add to our card, as well as some strips of leftovers.
Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper Card 3 Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping
And last of all, we used some of the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements over the Designer Series Paper for a different look, and they are another product that makes it so easy to create quick and easy Christmas cards this year.
Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper Card 4 Stampin' Up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping
All four of these cards uses just a card base, in this case some of the Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock, then one layer of the Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper, and we used a star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements.  All of the sentiments on my cards are from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, although you could use whatever stamps you have on hand.  And, I have only used a Real Red ink pad.

If you would like to see some more Christmas inspiration from the Art with Heart team, you can find all of the participants here.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Simple Stamping Blog Hop

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring Simple Stamping, which means our projects feature only paper, stamps and ink. It’s a great way to create a quick and easy card for new stampers or for when you need a card at short notice. These projects highlight how Stampin’ Up! ink, paper and card stock coordinates perfectly.

If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

My cards feature the Very Versailles stamp set, combined with the gorgeous Garden Lane Designer Series Paper.
Green Very Versailles Garden Lane Card

I have double stamped the leaf image, so stamped it once, and then stamped a second time without re-inking the stamp.
The card base colour is Soft Sea Foam, and the ink is Mossy Meadow.

My second card uses the same colours, stamps and papers, I have just added a few more layers and a little bit extra stamping.

Art With Heart Blog Hop – New In Colours

64734605_10219201145162081_6996690712334958592_n

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring an In Colour theme. Check out the new 2019 – 2021 In Colours and lets not forget the current 2018 – 2020 In Colours. If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

We have been showcasing the newest In Colours one at a time over the last few weeks, now it’s time to see even more inspiration from the Art With Heart team.

I have made a card using each of the 2019-21 In Colours, since I can’t decide which is my favourite of these colours, I really love each of them.  My cards also feature some of the new Designer Series Papers, Woven Threads DSP, and also the Pressed Petals DSP.

First up, the gorgeous Pretty Peacock.
Tasteful Textures Card 1

Lots of sponging and distressing on this card, and I have combined the Pretty Peacock with Very Vanilla cardstock and Crumb Cake ink.  The stamp set that I have used in the background is Tasteful Textures, and the Dies are the Tasteful Backgrounds.

Next is Terracotta Tile.
Another versatile colour that will be great for creating masculine cards!!
Woven Threads DSP 1
Again, I have used the Tasteful Textures and Tasteful Backgrounds, combined with the Woven Threads DSP, and used Very Vanilla cardstock with Crumb Cake ink.
It may be difficult to see in the photo, but I have stamped on the DSP with the line stamp from Tasteful Textures to give the DSP a little more, well…. texture!
And I have also stamped with the same stamp behind the die cut area.

Next, Rococo Rose.  So pretty!
Pressed Petals DSP Card 1
I have gone with a different DSP this time, Pressed Petals DSP.  All of the gorgeous flowers on my card are just panels of the DSP.
Again, heaps of distressing and sponging, and layers but only a very little stamping.

A quick and easy card using Seaside Spray.

Woven Threads Card 1

The Designer Series Papers make it so easy to create gorgeous cards with very little effort.  This card has a layer of  the Woven Threads DSP over some Seaside Spray, which is mounted onto a white card base.  Just a little Bakers Twine and some Metallic Pearls. Too easy!

And last but definitely not least, the beautiful Purple Posy.

Tasteful Backgrounds Daisies Card

I have used Purple Posy cardstock as the base for this card, then a layer of Woven Threads DSP, and then the white has been die cut using the Tasteful Backgrounds Dies. The pearls in the centre of each flower have been coloured with Stampin’ Blenders to match.

That’s it from me for today.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the very talented Tina Gillespie

New Catalogue Blog Hop

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative products using supplies from the upcoming 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue. If you would like a copy of the brand new annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.
May-blog-hop

There are just so many gorgeous new goodies, new ideas, new inspiration in the 2019 – 2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue, and so many that I want to create with.
But I decided to just choose the one that I love most (athough there are a few that are competing for that first place), the gorgeous new Designer Series Papers called Perennial Essence.
I love the colour combination in these papers, and the beautiful designs, and so I have made a series of cards using the papers.

May Bloghop 2

Such divine colours!!  Of course I love them with all the purples and pinks.

I had planned to do some different projects for you but life got in the way, so you will have to wait a little longer for the other’s that I had planned.

Another Blog Hop!!

Hope that you’ve all been enjoying the gorgeousness of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.  The Holiday Catalogue also went live on the 1st of September, but we thought we’d give you a couple of weeks to get into it before we bombarded you with the beautiful things the Holiday Catalogue brings!!!

So another Artful Stampers Hop ~ this time to celebrate the Holiday Catalogue Launch!

You may have hopped here from Melissa at Bee Devine Designs, but if you are just starting here, keep hopping on through.  I’m stop 4 on the Hop and I’m glad you’re here sharing in the fun!!There are lots of gorgeous Christmas goodies in the Holiday Catalogue, but I thought I would showcase something different.  So, my projects for today all use the Orchard Harvest suite on pages 28-30 of the Holiday

Catalogue.  I am making these for my sister, who has a property with heaps of apple trees.  Eventually they want to open a cidery, so I thought I should keep her inspired with these gifts.  She doesn’t spend much time on her computer, so here’s hoping she won’t check out my blog and see them before she gets them!!I have used the Orchard Harvest patterned papers and the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set for the card and the cute little box.  The box also uses the Cannery Set Framelits Dies which match the Perfectly Preserved stamp set.  Love how Stampin’ Up! match everything up.  These also come as a bundle to save you even more money!  Love it!
And I have made a Lavender Bag and Coaster, both of which use the Orchard Harvest Designer Fabric. Unfortunately the fabrics didn’t have apples on them, so I had to use pears instead!
I have a few other things to make to add to this collection, but I have been away for the last few days so haven’t had a chance to get it all done.  But I’ll share them all with you before I send them off to my sister.

Now it’s time to visit Anna for the next stop on our Hop. I am sure you will find lots of wonderful ideas to inspire you. And in case you get lost or there are broken links just pop back here for the full list of stampers taking part in this hop.

Don’t forget to leave comment love as you trip along the hop from blog to blog. We like to know what you think about the things we’ve been doing!!  And if you have any questions please feel free to send me an email.

Happy stamping, and I hope you find lots to inspire you!
Chris
