Stampin’ Up! Flowing Flowers Single Layer Card

Hi again, and welcome back!
You may remember a few days ago I shared this post with a single layer card featuring the retiring Gorgeous Leaves stamp set, and I thought it would be interesting to make the exact same card using a completely different stamp set and different colours.

This time the card is a thick Very Vanilla cardbase and I have used the Flowing Flowers stamp set, with a few splodges from the Quiet Meadow stamp set (although you could use the splodges on the other flower image from the Flowing Flowers set for this).
The colours are Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo.
This is such a gorgeous stamp set, I love the different flower images and the beautiful script on the sentiments. My brain is overloaded with ideas!!
That’s enough from me for today, I am spending the rest of my day working on some tutorial and online class ideas, so stay tuned for those.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Let’s Set Sail

Stampin’ Up! Let’s Set Sail stamp set is another new set from the upcoming Mini Catalogue (available 4th January 2022), and I have used it for a very simple single layer card, inspired by the latest TGIF challenge, using the Masking Technique.

Masking is such a great technique and one that I haven’t used in a while. For my card I have used the reverse masking technique to create the sun.

I have cut out a circle using one of the Tasteful Label dies, out of a piece of scrap paper.

I’ve then placed the piece of scrap paper over my Basic White card base in the position I want the sun to be, then sponged using Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight inks.

Then I have just removed the scrap paper mask, and stamped the images where I wanted them.

I’m not too happy with my splodgy ink on the sails of the boat, but not to worry, I guess they are wet from sailing!!
Happy stamping!

Blossoms in Bloom Thank You Card

Today’s card is a very quick and easy card, made using the gorgeous Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.

The Blossoms in Bloom stamp was inked up in Fresh Freesia ink, such a pretty colour! I have just added a strip of Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper to the left of the main image, and that’s it – so quick and easy but effective and pretty. Cardmaking at it’s easiest.

We are having another very wet day here, with our river flooding and plenty more rain forecast. So grateful we live high on a hill. Guessing it will be a weekend of staying warm and dry and doing some crafting!
I have the new catalogues, so if you are in Australia and would like a copy sent to you, please feel free to reach out to me, either leave a comment here, or send me an email – dotdotstamping@gmail.com and I will get them in the post to you. Lots of lovely goodies in those catalogues!!
And don’t forget, you can always order Stampin’ Up! products from my online store 24/7.
Happy Stamping!

Simple Christmas Tags

I really love the shape of the Elegant Tag punch but I have to admit that it has been sadly neglected, so I pulled it out this morning and used it to make some Christmas tags.

I kept them quite simple but sometimes simple is good!!

The tree is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, and the “Merry” is from A Wish For Everything.

I did share my crafting of these Tags this morning on my Facebook page here, where I have been going live most Wed mornings (Sydney time), depending on internet working and no technical hitches.

These are also a great way to use up scraps of cardstock, patterned paper and ribbon. I seem to have a stash of little bits of retired ribbon and twine!!

Happy stamping,

Chris

Heart of Christmas Week 6

Heart of Christmas 2019
Welcome to another Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, I do hope you have been enjoying all the wonderful inspiration from the Art of Heart team.
Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper Card 2 Stampin' up! 2019 Holiday Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping
I had a massively busy weekend, last weekend, and in amongst everything else, I ran a Launch party for the 2019 Holiday Catalogue at my home, with some lovely ladies, who wanted some ideas on making cards on a budget, and using up left over bits and pieces.
And what an awesome challenge that is, don’t we all have those left over bits and pieces?
And don’t we all want to find ways to craft on a budget?  Well, I know I have to.

The ladies made two cards at the Catalogue Launch party, but we looked at different ideas and combined different things, depending on what they liked.
I started off showing them just how simple a card can be when it’s made with some gorgeous Designer Series Papers, and some left over scraps of cardstock to stamp a sentiment on.

Ok yes, I did add a couple of red rhinestones to the card, just because I like a little something shiny on my Christmas Cards.
A very simple card, great for a beginner cardmaker or stamper.

Next we added some of those pesky leftover strips of cardstock – you know the ones!!

This one is a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) of a card on page 24 of the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalogue, but using some of the bits and pieces from my stash.

And this next one started out as a CASE from the same page, but we decided to fussy cut some of the Christmas stockings from the papers to add to our card, as well as some strips of leftovers.

And last of all, we used some of the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements over the Designer Series Paper for a different look, and they are another product that makes it so easy to create quick and easy Christmas cards this year.

All four of these cards uses just a card base, in this case some of the Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock, then one layer of the Night Before Christmas Designer Series Paper, and we used a star from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements.  All of the sentiments on my cards are from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, although you could use whatever stamps you have on hand.  And, I have only used a Real Red ink pad.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring Simple Stamping, which means our projects feature only paper, stamps and ink. It’s a great way to create a quick and easy card for new stampers or for when you need a card at short notice. These projects highlight how Stampin’ Up! ink, paper and card stock coordinates perfectly.

If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

My cards feature the Very Versailles stamp set, combined with the gorgeous Garden Lane Designer Series Paper.

I have double stamped the leaf image, so stamped it once, and then stamped a second time without re-inking the stamp.
The card base colour is Soft Sea Foam, and the ink is Mossy Meadow.

My second card uses the same colours, stamps and papers, I have just added a few more layers and a little bit extra stamping.

Sheet Music Stamp

Sheet Music Card Set

Only a few days to go until the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue goes live, with all the new goodies.  And believe me, there are lots of gorgeous goodies in this one!
In the meantime, I am going to be sharing some cards using a few of the retiring ones, and today I enjoyed some carfty time making these cards with the Sheet Music background stamp.
As a musician, I love this stamp, it is real music, not just random notes, and it is so gorgeous for cards and scrapbook layouts, so I am personally sad to see this one retiring.
It will be one that stays in my personal stash though.
Here are the individual cards….

And then I decided to go with some colour, and chose my favourite, Highland Heather.
The gorgeous butterfly is fussy cut from some retired Designer Series Papers, but they are too special to give away, so I am still using them.

I am going to share my cards to some card Challenges:

Global Design Project – Birds, Bees and Butterflies
Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges – Masculine Project
CAS Colours and Sketches – Sketch Challenge with a focus on the sentiment
Fusion Card Challenge – Sketch Challenge
TGIF Challenges – Make a Set of Cards

I hope you are having a crafty weekend.
Happy Stamping!
