Colour Creations Stampin’Up! Moody Mauve

I have three different projects to share with you today, featuring the new In Color Moody Mauve.
Who likes it?
Who doesn’t?
I’m hearing a lot of different opinions on this colour.
Personally, I LOVE it!!
So here are my projects.
The first one is a card that I have made using up some of those scraps of watercolour paper.

I have used some of the scraps of watercolour paper and coloured it with some Moody Mauve, Wild Wheat and Mossy Meadow ink and a Water Painter, before die cutting them with some of the Meadow Dies.
I have also die cut the same in Mossy Meadow cardstock, and then overlaid the flower onto the Mossy Meadow, which gives a slight raised appearance to the flower, but also gives a shadowed effect where you can see the tiniest amount of the dark Mossy Meadow behind the flower.

Next I am going to share with you some paper roses that I have been making.
My 17 year old son is displaying some of his wonderful woodturned items at a Wedding Fair this weekend and I was given the opportunity to create some flower displays to complement his items.
These roses are going to be part of this display but at this stage are just individual roses, four in Mood Mauve, and one Very Vanilla.
(I love Moody Mauve paired with Very Vanilla, simply gorgeous!)

And my last project is another card, this one a slightly different fold to a standard card.

The base of the card is a single layer which doesn’t open, with the opening card attached in front.

I have used some Blackberry Bliss for the base of this card to add some depth of colour.

I do hope that I have managed to help you to love Moody Mauve a little better, but if you need some more inspiration, keep on hopping along to Rachel Palmieri.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop Cathy Proctor, who will have a list of all the participants in the Blog Hop.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy hopping,
Chris

Art With Heart Blog Hop – New In Colours

64734605_10219201145162081_6996690712334958592_n

Tonight the Art with Heart team are sharing creative projects featuring an In Colour theme. Check out the new 2019 – 2021 In Colours and lets not forget the current 2018 – 2020 In Colours. If you would like a copy of the 2019 – 2020 annual catalogue, contact any of the girls on the blog hop and we will get in touch with you.

We have been showcasing the newest In Colours one at a time over the last few weeks, now it’s time to see even more inspiration from the Art With Heart team.

I have made a card using each of the 2019-21 In Colours, since I can’t decide which is my favourite of these colours, I really love each of them.  My cards also feature some of the new Designer Series Papers, Woven Threads DSP, and also the Pressed Petals DSP.

First up, the gorgeous Pretty Peacock.
Tasteful Textures Card 1

Lots of sponging and distressing on this card, and I have combined the Pretty Peacock with Very Vanilla cardstock and Crumb Cake ink.  The stamp set that I have used in the background is Tasteful Textures, and the Dies are the Tasteful Backgrounds.

Next is Terracotta Tile.
Another versatile colour that will be great for creating masculine cards!!
Woven Threads DSP 1
Again, I have used the Tasteful Textures and Tasteful Backgrounds, combined with the Woven Threads DSP, and used Very Vanilla cardstock with Crumb Cake ink.
It may be difficult to see in the photo, but I have stamped on the DSP with the line stamp from Tasteful Textures to give the DSP a little more, well…. texture!
And I have also stamped with the same stamp behind the die cut area.

Next, Rococo Rose.  So pretty!
Pressed Petals DSP Card 1
I have gone with a different DSP this time, Pressed Petals DSP.  All of the gorgeous flowers on my card are just panels of the DSP.
Again, heaps of distressing and sponging, and layers but only a very little stamping.

A quick and easy card using Seaside Spray.

Woven Threads Card 1

The Designer Series Papers make it so easy to create gorgeous cards with very little effort.  This card has a layer of  the Woven Threads DSP over some Seaside Spray, which is mounted onto a white card base.  Just a little Bakers Twine and some Metallic Pearls. Too easy!

And last but definitely not least, the beautiful Purple Posy.

Tasteful Backgrounds Daisies Card

I have used Purple Posy cardstock as the base for this card, then a layer of Woven Threads DSP, and then the white has been die cut using the Tasteful Backgrounds Dies. The pearls in the centre of each flower have been coloured with Stampin’ Blenders to match.

That’s it from me for today.

Now it’s time to hop on over to our next participant, the very talented Tina Gillespie

Colour Creations – Terracotta Tile

Terracotta Tile is our colour this week.
I will admit that at first, I wasn’t sure if I really liked this colour, but the more I use it, the more I see the possibilities.
It’s the darkest of the colours in this flower, and doesn’t it just go beautifully with the pinks?

The flower above is from the Mosaic Mood Designer Series Paper, and it was the obvious choice for me to pair with Terracotta Tile.

Critters Challenge

I made a card!
It has been quite a while since I did any crafting.  Or blogging for that matter.  Time to get back into it though now that life has settled down.
Today’s card is for the current challenge at The Male Room, which is to make a project with the theme of Critters and/or Bugs.

My card uses some lovely new goodies which will be available in the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which goes live in two days time.
The stamp set is a very cute Hostess set called Love You Lots.  I think I love this little frog lots!  It’s a really gorgeous stamp set.
The papers are also new, a stack called Playful Palette, which features some of the gorgeous new In Colours, in this case, the green is called Emerald Envy, and the blue is Dapper Denim.
There is one more new stamp set which I have used here, another Hostess set called Time of Year, which features these fantastic banners.  A very useful set to own.
That’s it from me for now, however, I will actually be back a little later with….. yes, another card!!
Happy stamping!
Chris

The Male Room Design Team

Very excited again today, I can finally let you know that I have been asked to be part of the wonderful team of designers with one of my favourite challenges at The Male Room!

DT Member badge

I have been holding on to that piece of information for a while now, but very happy to be able to share it now 🙂
This week’s challenge is to add a tag to your project:

CHALLENGE#12

I thought I would keep my card quite clean and simple today, and use one of the gorgeous new Stampin’ Up! In Colours, called Tip Top Taupe!  Cool name!

The striped patterned paper come from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  I have created a tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, with some Faux Stitching around the edge and some Natural Chevron Ribbon through the top.  The globe image comes from the Traveler stamp set, definitely a favourite for making masculine cards!
Looking forward to sharing heaps of masculine cards with you, and to seeing all of your projects.  So please share them with us at The Male Room.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Artful Stampers Blog Hop

It’s time for the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue!!!  To celebrate, some of our Team – The Artful Stampers – are sharing fabulous projects showcasing a selection of the gorgeous new products available in the 2012-2013 Catalogue!!

You may have hopped here from Melissa at Bee Devine Designs Blog.  I’m stop 4 on the Hop and I’m glad you “hopped” in. 🙂  But if you started here, that’s ok too, just keep on hopping and you’ll eventually get all the way around!

Today I am going to share with you a set of three cards made with a gorgeous new Hostess Set called Summer Afternoon (Page 201 of the new Catalogue).
The cards also feature a  new set of framelits dies called Bitty Banners (Page 191) and some of the new ribbons available, the Stitched Satin Ribbon and Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (Page 172), and some of the new In Colours.

I have used inks and Aqua brush for the water colouring on each card, on watercolour paper, and have also used a combination of the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders, and the Adorning Accents Edgelits dies.

I will give you a closer look at each card individually, so that you can see them in more detail.

The colours for this first card are Gumball Green (new In Colour) and  Soft Suede, along with a touch of Cajun Craze for the pot.  The Houndstooth Embossing Folder along the top section adds some texture and I have wrapped some Linen Thread around a few times.

The second card has a layer of Raspberry Ripple (another new In Colour) card stock with some Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

And the third card…. ah… here is something for you to discover… a bit of a challenge…  this particular card uses the layout of a card from the new Annual Catalogue.  The first person (only  people who are not SU demonstrators please) to correctly tell me which page the card is on that inspired my card, and the stamp set and colours used in the card in the catalogue, will receive a small gift from me.  So leave me a message with your answers 🙂

As for my card, it uses Gumball Green and Summer Starfruit.  I am still not sure if I like Summer Starfruit, but I suspect it will grow on me, and if not, it will one of the very few SU colours that doesn’t appeal to me!
The card also uses Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon.  The ribbons are lovely to work with!

Now click on the link to Kathryn Carr for the next stop on our Hop. I am sure you will find lots of wonderful ideas to inspire you. And in case you get lost or there are broken links just pop back here for the full list of stampers taking part in this hop.

Thank you for visiting and if you’d like to leave a comment I’d be very pleased to hear what you think of the new catalogue and products 🙂

Happy Stamping!

iPhone Covers

Today I am going to share with you my iPhone!
I have bought a clear silicone cover for my phone and then made an insert to go inside it.  This one uses the new Betsy’s Blossom stamp set and some of the the new In Colours, which you can order on the 1st Sept.  I plan to make a few different ones of these so that I can change them whenever I want a different look.

That’s it for today, hope you are having a crafty weekend.
