I am starting to get back into some group crafting and sharing, which is exciting, and a bit confronting, after such a long time of crafting on my own. My first Blog Hop today, is with the Crafty Collaborations group, and we are focusing on the technique of Masking, one of my all time favourite techniques because it can be done in so many ways. Today, I have decided to keep my card very simple, and I’ve featured the leaf stamp from the Sale-a-Bration set Beautifully Happy.
I have used my Stamparatus to keep everything lined up, and used a one inch strip of scrap paper across a piece of Basic White cardstock, as a mask.
I’ve then inked up my stamps with Soft Seafoam Ink, and using a Sponge Dauber, added some Shaded Spruce and a tiny touch of Cajun Craze ink around the edge of the leaves.
Once I felt I was happy with the leaves, I removed the mask, and stamped a sentiment from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set.
This is such a simple technique, but so effective. I’ve layered this onto some Shaded Spruce to frame the main layer, and then onto a Soft Seafoam card base.
Hello again and welcome back. The Stampin’ Up! Crane of Fortune stamp set is the set I have used for my card today, in particular the pretty flower image. I stamped the flower with Fresh Freesia ink, and then to add some vibrancy and intensity to the colour of the centre of the flower, I have added some Rich Razzleberry ink using a Blending Brush, just gently and with a very small amount of ink, but it makes that colour pop out just a little more.
The Awesome Otters Sale-a-Bration set is just so cute that I had to make another card with it today, this time combined with some of the gorgeous Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper from the new Mini catalogue.
They look like they are having a lot of fun! The hats have been stamped separately in Basic Gray and then coloured very quickly using a Blender Pen with Just Jade and Pumpkin Pie ink, and then fussy cut with scissors and adhered with dimensionals. There is some Wink of Stellar on the pompoms. And don’t forget to decorate the inside as well…..
I hope they give you something to smile about today! Happy stamping Chris

Awesome Otters stamp set is one of the great stamp sets available in the Sale-a-Bration brochure for Jan-Feb 2022, and I have combined it with the Gentle Waves background stamp from the Jan – June Mini Catalogue.
The otter has been stamped separately and then fussy cut, and have then added a little shading with ink and a Blender Pen. And the birds come from the Let’s Set Sail stamp set, also from the current Mini Catalogue. The colours I have used are Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue and Misty Moonlight. I made an Idea Pin for this card which you can watch here: https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/265923552988586352/
Did you know you can earn the Awesome Otters stamp set just by spending $90 from the Annual catalogue and/or new Mini Catalogue through my online store? (Australian orders only please) I think that’s a great deal, and since there are so many gorgeous new goodies in the new Mini, it’s not difficult to spend $90!

If you would like to collect some orders from friends and family who are crafty, or if you would like to host an online stamping party, the Host sets from the new catalogue (and the Annual one as well) are just gorgeous! Let me know, I am happy to help you organise that – they are so much fun to do.
Have you noticed just how much inspiration you can get from the Stampin’ Up! catalogues? The artwork is next level, and it’s all there, for you. For your inspiration and ideas, and for you to CASE. So what does CASE mean? It means to Copy And Share Everything (meaning to copy the exact card), or to copy elements of the card, such as the layout, the colours, or anywhere in between. And here is an example…. I wanted to CASE the gorgeous card on Page 13 of the Sale-a-Bration catalogue, on the far right, which uses the Friendly Hello stamp set and DSP, but I didn’t have all of the items.
So firstly I realised I had run out of Fresh Freesia cardstock (uh oh, I can feel another order coming on!!), which the original uses as a cardbase. So instead, I used thick Basic White as my card base and added an extra layer of the DSP in the Fresh Freesia colour (from the Friendly Hello DSP). I don’t have that ribbon, so instead I have used some of the Silver Simply Elegant Trim. I’m not sure what pearls or rhinestones were used in the original but again, I am using what I have in my stash, so I added some of the gorgeous Pastel Pearls. And lastly, I am not a fan of the black sentiment panel (just personal preference), so I stamped my sentiment (from the Sale-a-Bration Special Moments stamp set) in Fresh Freesia ink. They are only small changes, but they have made the card mine.
The stamp set and gorgeous DSP are available from the 4th January. Don’t worry, I won’t let you forget!
Happy CASE-ing! Chris PS, if you are feeling stuck and unmotivated, lost your stamping Mojo or just don’t know where to start, CASEing is the way to get through that, in fact, that is how I learnt to make cards and to stamp when I first started out. Have fun! PPS, Also remember, it is only ink and paper!!
You may think I am a little obsessed with the Friendly Hello stamp set. You would be correct! It is so gorgeous and lovely to work with. It’s so pretty, with those gorgeous flower images and pretty colours in the matching Designer Series Paper. However, I wanted to show that it can be used for more neutral or even masculine cards, so used it during my Masculine Monday Facebook Live this morning. This is the original design that I put together before I went Live…..
And I decided to use the same elements but change the layout…. there’s nothing like improvising during a Facebook Live, it keeps it interesting!!
For the second card, I fussy cut the bird after stamping it, to remove the flowers and make it more masculine.
Which do you like better? If you prefer not to watch video on Facebook, you can find many of my Facebook Lives now on my youTube channel, make sure you Subscribe so that you know when something new has been added. While the stamps and Designer Series Papers I have used for this card are not available until January 4th 2022, make sure you check out what’s available in the Clearance Rack, there are some great specials available. However, if you really want this gorgeous stamp set, and you want it right now (and if you live in Australia), I would love to have you join my family of demonstrators, and you can join my team here. As a new demonstrator you have early access to all of the upcoming new goodies!!
My card today uses the Stampin’ Up! Friendly Hello stamp set, one that you may not have seen yet. It is a brand new one, available from the 4th January 2022, along with the pretty Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper.
I fell in love this with gorgeous little bird as soon as I saw it, and am so grateful that I am able to earn free goodies from Stampin’ Up! just for choosing to be a demonstrator and share what I love doing. And of course, it’s always fun to receive free things, and this is one that you can also receive for free during this coming January/February Sale-a-Bration.
Cute little birdie is coloured using the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour pencils, but with no water involved, just coloured with the pencils. Isn’t this just the most gorgeous image? I have also stamped on the inside of the card with a smaller image from the same set, also coloured with the pencils.
While this one is only available to demonstrators prior to the 4th January, if you really want it, you could join my Stampin’ Up! family of demonstrators, with all the benefits that go along with that. Of course there are always the items that are on the Last Chance List and in the Clearance Rack to craft with until January, and I will be posting up some projects using those soon. Happy stamping! Chris

I am featuring the Power of Hope Bundle today.
The white layer in the background of my cards has been embossed using the Stone 3D Embossing folder from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue, then the top two layers have been die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies, the middle layer in Pretty Peacock.
I have stamped the image onto some of the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-Bration) and cut out the dress, before adhering to the stamped image on the white cardstock.
Here is the inside of my card:
And then I have made a second one in Melon Mambo and using the same Designer Series Paper.
The next demonstrator to share their Sale-a-bration inspiration with you is Sujatha Harding
I hope you enjoy hopping through all of the inspiration.
Happy Stamping!
Chris
