Stampin’ Up! Color and Contour Sponged Card

My card today features the flower outline stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Color and Contour Stamp Set. The card is quite simple and a great way to introduce beginner stampers to the joy of easy stamping. The white centre panel has been sponged using the Blending Brushes, using Polished Pink, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight. You can see the live demonstration of me making this card here.
And don’t forget you can place your order for any of your Stampin’ Up! necessities any time on my online store.

Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony Sponged Artwork

I spent most of my morning creating this piece, which I’m not quite sure what to call. It’s not really mixed media because it’s all the same techniques we would use on cards.
I have made it for a local art gallery which is having an exhibition where everything that is displayed must be 8 x 8 inches.
So I started with a piece of very heavy card, the type that sometimes comes in with the Specialty Designer Series Papers, which I cut to 8 x 8 inches, and also cut one of my pieces of Basic White cardstock the same size (the very same Basic White that I am trying not to use too much of right now!!). I have sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink, and then a heap of sponging with daubers over a decorative mask which was actually the front of a retired laser-cut card.
So heaps of sponging and stamping, and then watercolouring the Prize Peony. For that I have used Stazon Black ink onto Watercolour Paper, then coloured with ink and the Water Painter. The ink colours are Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Polished Pink.

I have also used some retired Designer Series Paper and ribbon, the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, Very Versaille Stamp Set and Beauty of Tomorrow Stamp Set and matching Dies.

Happy Stamping!

Masculine Monday Meadow Card

Today was the first of my Facebook Live streams that I am calling Masculine Mondays, my plan is to make a masculine project live at 10am every Monday morning ( Eastern Australia Daylight Savings time). Masculine Cards and projects seem to be something that many people struggle with so I hope I can share some ideas and inspiration.

I realise that many people are unable or unwilling to get out to cardmaking and scrapbooking classes right now, so I will be sharing more online.

I would love to go live on my YouTube channel but I need 50 followers there first, so jump on and subscribe to my channel, get your friends to as well, and then I will be able to share more with you on YouTube.

In the meantime, here is the link to this morning’s Facebook live.

And here is the card, featuring the Meadow Dies and Cork Speciality Paper.

The colours I have used are Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, and Very Vanilla, and the label is from the Tasteful Labels Dies.
Here is a link to order the gorgeous Meadow Dies from my online store so that you can create this card.

Happy Stamping!

Blackberry Beauty

Just a quick post today to share a card that I made, using this tutorial from Mary Fish.
When I saw the card on her blog, I just knew I had to create one. So simple yet stunning.

And it uses my all time favourite of all of my favourites, the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper.

Happy stamping!

Simple Christmas Tags

I really love the shape of the Elegant Tag punch but I have to admit that it has been sadly neglected, so I pulled it out this morning and used it to make some Christmas tags.

I kept them quite simple but sometimes simple is good!!

The tree is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set, and the “Merry” is from A Wish For Everything.

I did share my crafting of these Tags this morning on my Facebook page here, where I have been going live most Wed mornings (Sydney time), depending on internet working and no technical hitches.

These are also a great way to use up scraps of cardstock, patterned paper and ribbon. I seem to have a stash of little bits of retired ribbon and twine!!

Happy stamping,

Chris

Black and White with a pop of colour!!

In my post yesterday I shared some cards using Designer Series Paper, including a bright and cheerful birthday card. Today’s card uses the reverse side if that same paper, from the Host DSP called Pattern Party.

The black and white flower patterned paper has simply been coloured using Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. Another quick and simple card.

I might pop a rhinestone or two on this one, just to add some bling!!

Happy stamping,

Chris

Designer Series Paper for easy and beautiful cards.

I did a Livestream on my Facebook page this morning, featuring the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper, to make quick, easy and gorgeous Christmas cards, and to show that you really don’t need to spend a lot of money in order to get going and make some homemade Christmas cards.

These first three cards use exactly the same layout, with different patterns from the same pack of DSP.

I also showed this same layout using a completely different DSP to create a bright and cheerful birthday card, using the Host DSP Pattern Party.

And a couple of different layouts using Whimsy and Wonder DSP.

They were fun to make, and now I have a bigger stash to sell at the markets this week!!

Happy Stamping!

CAS Sketch Challenge

Another card that I made for a challenge again today, and I ended up featuring the Quiet Meadow stamp set again. It seems to be a current favourite! I do like the different elements in this set, which combine so beautifully with many other stamps.

My card uses the largest die from the Beautiful Leaves Dies as a background behind the flowers.

The flowers from Quiet Meadows have been coloured using an Aqua Brush with inks, and then fussy cut (the dies will be in my next order!!) and I have used some of the leaves from Beauty of Tomorrow stamp set to complete my posy of flowers. I have added a few splodges of colour, very lightly to add a little more of the pretty Pale Papaya colour.

Here is the sketch from CAS Colors and Sketches which I used as inspiration for this card.

I hope you are having a crafty week!
Happy stamping.

Quiet Meadow CAS Colour Challenge

I enjoy making all sorts of different styles of cards, in particular, I love making vintage style cards. But sometimes I also love to make Clean and Simple (CAS) cards, and sometimes I like to make them very clean!!

This card is a colour challenge from CAS Colours and Sketches challenges, using the colours below. I used Stampin’ Write markers to colour directly to the stamp, using the three colours on the one stamp. Originally, I had planned to add a sentiment and perhaps a few splotches, but in the end I decided I liked it just like that.

What do you think? Would you have added more to it? Leave me a comment and let me know.
Happy stamping!

Chris
