I just can’t believe that this wonderful, versatile stamp set is still in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. It was one of the first stamp sets I got when I first joined back in 2008, and it’s still there now.
Well, I had this stamped image, from Lovely As A Tree, and some really, really old papers and cardstock, so I have put something together, just because I am frustrated that I don’t have my new goodies yet.
Such a gorgeous stamp set.
I may have to reinvest in that one.
Yes, I got rid of pretty much all of my stamps and heaps of my tools, so I am starting almost from scratch again.
So I have no idea which set this DSP paper came from.
And in the true spirit of getting back into stamping and cardmaking, I am going to add my card to some challenges.
Firstly, Cardz 4 Guyz has a Clean and Simple Challenge happening.
And also The Male Room is going Green. My card only has a little bit of green but never mind.
A quick reminder today to join us in the “Something Old, Something New” challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.
For my project today, I have made a card using a stamp set that was in the catalogue when I first joined Stampin’ Up! in 2008, Lovely As A Tree. Definitely an oldie but a goodie 🙂
And for the “new” part, I have stamped the sentiment using the Rose Wonder stamp set, and the versatile Hearth and Home Framelits dies.
Hope you join in with our challenge at Crafty Boots, and remember, your interpretation of “Something Old, Something New” doesn’t have to be the same as mine…. 🙂
We are having an Autumn Challenge this fortnight at The Male Room.
And while the weather over in the Northern Hemisphere is cooling down for Autumn, here in Australia it is definitely feeling like Spring. Not quite warm enough for a swim at the beach, but I don’t think it will be long 🙂
My card for this challenge is a Clean and Simple (CAS) card, featuring one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets….
Lovely As A Tree – yep, an oldie but a goodie, it has been around so long, and it is so very versatile. And the splodges of colour are a stamp from the Work of Art stamp set.
Lots of Autumn inspiration from the rest of the Design Team at The Male Room, so make sure you pop on over and have a look. And why not join in and share your Autumn projects with us.
This week at Cardz 4 Guys, Helen has challenged us to use Check, Gingham, Plaid or Tartan on our projects, and it must be a prominent feature.
My card features once again, some of the some of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up! which has become one of my favourites for masculine cards. And I have combined it with another favourite, the wonderful Lovely As A Tree stamp set. It must be one of the most popular stamp sets ever, great for all sorts of occasions, and again, wonderful for masculine cards.
This is my last week with the team at Cardz 4 Guys, I have enjoyed being Guest Designer for the month of May and just want to say thanks to the rest of the Design Team for having me along.
Winter Wonderland is the theme this week at Crafty Boots Challenges.
I know a lot of people in Australia think it’s wrong to have Christmas cards made with winter themes and snowmen, but I think a lot of us have friends and relatives who live in other countries where it is snowing at this time of year. I know I do. So I have made a couple of “snowy” Christmas cards.
This first card uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set – an oldie but a goodie, especially when it comes to snow-laden wintery trees. I have stamped everything in Versamark ink onto some Silver Foil and heat embossed with White embossing powder, then layered the Silver Foil onto some white cardstock. Simple, but effective. And it’s flat, no bulky bits that stick out, so can easily be posted off without Mr Postie getting cranky!
The second card is again, predominantly white and silver, this time the trees have been stamped in Silver ink, and the cute little bird from For the Birds stamp set, has been stamped in Memento ink and coloured with Blendabilities. I think he is off to decorate those silver trees. 🙂
And in other news, we have a couple of cheeky new members of our family….. here is one of them trying to “help” me type up this post 🙂
I thought I would show you the cards we made last week in the Triple Time Stamping classes, I really enjoyed making these as did those who attended. So pay attention if you missed out, you could have come along and made these too!! 🙂
We started off making a Christmas card…… yes, Christmas… it’s never too early to start your collection of lovely handmade Christmas cards.
This one uses the stamp set Lovely as a Tree, and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. It could, of course be a masculine birthday card rather than a Christmas card, but in any case the idea was to introduce the Triple Stamping technique with just two layers of stamped cardstock to see how it all goes together.
The second card uses the gorgeous Swallowtail stamp, combined with Papillon Potpourri, and the colours Pool Party and Island Indigo.
And last but not least, a masculine card which uses The Open Sea stamp set, and in the background some patterned paper from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Papers, and the Cloudy Day embossing folder.
This is such a great technique and creates gorgeous and unusual cards. I have a couple more that I have made as samples that I will share with you soon.
Just a quick post to let you know that there are still a few seats available for the Triple Time Stamping Class which is happening next week. So if you live in the Canberra area and would like to come along, please let me know asap. Here is one of the cards we will be making:
You can contact me via email or phone, but please let me know asap as these cards require quite a lot of preparation. More details can be found on my Classes page.
Looking forward to stamping with you soon 🙂
This week’s challenge at Our Creative Corner is to use either a silhouette stamp or a cut-out silhouette on your project.
I really don’t think I did this challenge justice to be honest with you, I struggled with it and am not happy with what I ended up doing. My excuse – too many boxes to pack and not enough time to craft! But I guess I have used some dark tree images against lighter background.
Anyway, I have used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, and the coloured panel I have done with ink pad swiped directly onto the card stock then a little bit of sponging to add some shading.
The colours are Sahara Sand, Early Espresso, Old Olive and Marina Mist.
That’s enough for now – back to the packing!
