A Sketch Challenge

Another masculine card today, this time based on a sketch for the challenge at The Male Room.

I have used some paper from the Typeset Speciality Series papers for the background of this card, with images stamped from The Open Sea stamp set.  I’ve added some linen thread and some of my favourite paper piercing, and the circles and squares have all been cut using Framelits dies, which makes it quite a quick and easy card!

Happy Stamping!

More Triple Time Stamping!

I thought I would show you the cards we made last week in the Triple Time Stamping classes, I really enjoyed making these as did those who attended.  So pay attention if you missed out, you could have come along and made these too!! 🙂

We started off making a Christmas card……  yes, Christmas… it’s never too early to start your collection of lovely handmade Christmas cards.

This one uses the stamp set Lovely as a Tree, and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  It could, of course be a masculine birthday card rather than a Christmas card, but in any case the idea was to introduce the Triple Stamping technique with just two layers of stamped cardstock to see how it all goes together.

The second card uses the gorgeous Swallowtail stamp, combined with Papillon Potpourri, and the colours Pool Party and Island Indigo.

And last but not least, a masculine card which uses The Open Sea stamp set, and in the background some patterned paper from the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Papers, and the Cloudy Day embossing folder.

This is such a great technique and creates gorgeous and unusual cards.  I have a couple more that I have made as samples that I will share with you soon.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Office Supplies

Our Creative Corner challenge this week from Kim Price is to use Office Supplies on our creation, along with lots of the colour red!  Yes, office supplies, as in staples, post-it notes, string, sticky tape…. you get the idea.

So I went searching to see what I could find that would fit in with those criteria.  My card is inspired by Deb Fearns, a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and friend from when I was living in Canberra.  Deb has used some of the doilies from the Flirtatious Specialty papers, cut them and coloured them to look like cogs.  I just wanted mine to look a bit like a wheel, but I love this clever idea for using up some retiring bits and pieces.  I have also used the retiring Well Worn DSP, which are fantastic for male cards.
The stamp set is The Open Sea, which becomes available again on the 1st Sept (Yay… love this set!), and I have used string, staples and a clip as my office supplies.

I do hope you will play along with us this week, this challenge is so much fun.  And have a look to see what the rest of the fabulous Design Team have created for some inspiration.
Happy stamping!
Chris
