Re-Cycle Challenge

This week at The Male Room, the challenge is to Re-Cycle something on your project.  That could be some bits and pieces of your stash that you might normally throw out, or something completely different.

I had a delivery recently that came in a cardboard box, so instead of throwing out the box, I tore some of the box off and have used it on my card.

I seem to be using this windmill image quite a lot at present, must be stuck in a groove!  Still, it is a great image for masculine cards.  I have layered some of my Kaszazz papers as a base.  The piece of the cardboard box was then stripped a little so that just those corrugated layers remain, and then I put the windmill over the top.
I hope you will just us at The Male Room and share your ideas.
Happy stamping!

New Beginnings

Happy New Year to each and every one of you. Thank you for continuing to follow my blog posts (despite them being few and far between at present), and I hope 2018 is an awesome year for you.

It’s still holidays here in Australia, it’s summer, it’s hot, and it’s when our children have a long break from school. So heaps of beach time!!

As a result, I am just a little late with this post for The Male Room‘s current challenge. I thought I had everything organised before Christmas but somehow I managed to miss this one.

New Beginnings. I’m not into New Years Resolutions, nevertheless, this time of year always feels like time for regenerating, re-organising and just starting afresh. And my beautiful son celebrates his birthday at this time too. I can’t believe he is 12 already!!

I made him a different birthday card this year, one that I think resonates with him, and what we plan for the coming year.

I have mainly used retired bits and pieces that I’ve put together in his favourite colours, green, and the wood textures and colours.  Oh and I can’t forget that gorgeous black metal bird from my Kaszazz stash. Love it!!

Happy Stamping!

Critters Challenge

I made a card!
It has been quite a while since I did any crafting.  Or blogging for that matter.  Time to get back into it though now that life has settled down.
Today’s card is for the current challenge at The Male Room, which is to make a project with the theme of Critters and/or Bugs.

My card uses some lovely new goodies which will be available in the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which goes live in two days time.
The stamp set is a very cute Hostess set called Love You Lots.  I think I love this little frog lots!  It’s a really gorgeous stamp set.
The papers are also new, a stack called Playful Palette, which features some of the gorgeous new In Colours, in this case, the green is called Emerald Envy, and the blue is Dapper Denim.
There is one more new stamp set which I have used here, another Hostess set called Time of Year, which features these fantastic banners.  A very useful set to own.
That’s it from me for now, however, I will actually be back a little later with….. yes, another card!!
Happy stamping!

Hardware

The theme for this week’s challenge at The Male Room is to use some of your stash, in particular, some Hardware!

I had some fun with this one, and thought I would feature some brads, but also a different form of “hardware”…..

a Robot!
Mr Robot comes from the stamp set Boys Will Be Boys and is heat embossed onto the back cardstock with Silver embossing powder.  The photo is not great, I had difficulties trying to find a good spot to take a photo of this card with all the silver.  Make sure you check out all the fabulous projects from the rest of the Design Team at The Male Room.
Happy stamping!
