Butterfly Wishes Colour Challenge

Butterfly Wishes Card Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping 2019 Stampin' Up!

My card today uses the colours of the current Just Add Ink Challenge, which are Rococo Rose, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.
Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set Stampin' Up! Card Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping 2019 Annual Catalogue

Gorgeous colour combination!
I have used the Butterfly Wishes stamp set for this card, with a few different techniques.
The branch has been coloured using Stampin’ Write markers in the two different colours, and then stamped off twice before stamping onto the piece of white cardstock.
The flowers, which I am not all that happy with, were stamped in the pink and then coloured using Stampin’ Blends, but I didn’t get as much shading as I wanted.
The butterflies were all stamped in Blackberry Bliss ink, and then lightly coloured with Stampin’ Blends in the Rococo Rose colour.
A touch of Wink of Stella on the flowers and some rhinestones for the centres.
Have to add some shiny stuff!!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!
Chris

Pocketful of Happiness!

Pocketful of Happiness Stampin' Up! 2019 Annual Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping
We have been loving the start of spring here in our beautiful part of southern Australia, the weather is already warming up and we have been making the most of the sunshine!
We went on a foraging expedition, with a local lady who specialises in showing people how to find edible weeds, flowers, and some of our Australian bush food that many people are unaware of.  It was a fantastic morning, very educational as well as fun, and we came home with yummy fresh salad for lunch, and lots of ideas.  Perhaps my title should be pocketS full of happiness!  Pockets, and bags, all full of happy, yummy goodness.

So to continue on with the spring theme of this post, I made this card using the Pocketful of Happiness stamp set.
Pocketful of Happiness Card Scripty Embossing Folder Stitched Rectangle Dies Stampin' Up! 2019 Annual Catalogue Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping

It’s such a gorgeous stamp set, I love the simplicity of it, yet it is lovely to colour and create happy cards with.
My stamping wasn’t very accurate, it’s kind of double stamped in a couple of places, but I wanted to use it anyway.  It’s handmade!!
I have coloured the stamped images with Stampin’ Blends, and then given the flowers a touch of Wink of Stella to add some shimmer.
The top panel was die cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  And the layer underneath is embossed using the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder.

If you would like to buy products to make this simple card, you can find them in my online store here.  And please contact me if you have any questions about my cards or how to order, I happy to help in any way I can.

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stamping!

Heart of Christmas Week 4

Heart of Christmas 2019

Heart of Christmas 2019 – Week 4

I can’t believe it is already the 4th week we have shared Christmas inspiration from the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.  Christmas is coming!

My cards this week were inspired by my lovely friend and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in the US, Anne-Marie Hile.  Anne-Marie has been inspiring me for many, many years and makes such beautiful cards.
And while my intention was to CASE Anne-Marie’s card, which you can see here, my card ended up a little different.

And I decided to make a second card, but keeping it quite clean and simple, but still with some of the Christmas colours from the original.

I have die cut some Gold Foil using one of the Detailed Bands Dies to highlight the words on my card.

Have you started making your Christmas cards yet?
If not, there’s sure to be something to inspire you from all the projects from the blog hop, which you can find links here on Claire’s blog.

Happy hopping, hope you find some inspiration,
Chris

Purple Daisies

I made this card a while ago and somehow I haven’t shared it with you yet.
With all the Christmas projects going on for blog hops, I thought you might like something different today, and thought it was time to share this one.

This card is a comination of some of my absolute favourites from the current Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue, the Heirloom Frames, and the Daisy Lane Bundle.

The daisies have been stamped in Smokey Slate, and then coloured using a Blender pen and  Blackberry Bliss ink.
The daisies and the frame have some Wink of Stella added to them for some shimmer, but it hasn’t come up in the photos.
This was a card which I made for a lovely lady who recently joined my Stampin’ Up! team.  It is lovely to have someone living close by who shares my love of stamping and creating.
I am looking for more team members, so if you live in Australia, and would like to know more about joining Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator, either as a business demonstrator, or as a hobbyist who would like to get a discount on your products, please feel free to leave a comment, or send me an email at dotdotstamping@gmail.com

And click here if you would like to order your own Stampin’ Up! products.
Happy Stamping!

I seriously can’t pick favourites because I love nearly everything.

Halloween is not big in Australia, nevertheless, there are some things, even in the Halloween part of the catalogue that I just had to get!
You can download a copy of the PDF here.
If you are in Australia and don’t already have a demonstrator, I would be happy to send you a hard copy of the catalogue.  Nothing like the feel of a catalogue full of new goodies to look at.
If you already know what you would like to order, then you can place your order here.
Make sure you come back later today, for the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, where we will showcase products from the new Holiday catalogue.
In the meantime,

Heart of Christmas Week 2

Week 2 of the Heart of Christmas weekly Blog Hops.

Heart of Christmas 2019

I have gone with very traditional Christmas colours for this week’s Heart of Christmas Blog Hop, using some of the products from the Wrapped in Plaid Suite on Pages 12-14 of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.

Christmas Card Wrapped in Plaid by Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping 2019 Holiday Catalogue

I’ve started with a Very Vanilla base this time, I really like the more vintage look that it gives, and a strip of the gorgeous Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper which has the lovely gold stripe through it.
So gorgeous for Christmas projects.

The ribbon is from the current Annual Catalogue, the Metallic-Edge Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon edged wtih gold.  To make the bow, I have doubled up a length of ribbon, tied it in the middle with a piece of twine and then popped one of the Designer Elements from page 178 of the Annual Catalogue, over the twine to hide it.
The rhinestones have been coloured with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend.  I’ve added these to the centre of the Designer Elements.
“Merry Christmas” was stamped in Cherry Cobbler, and then I have run the Wink of Stella over the top to give it some shimmer but unfortunately I wasn’t careful enough and it has just smudged the ink in a couple of places.  The sentiment has been die cut using one of the Ornate Frames Dies from Page 53 of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.
The Christmas Trees have been punched out using the Pine Tree punch, which makes Christmas cards a breeze!

I have guest stamper and cardmaker, Tammy Prince joining me again this week, with another of her fabulous designs.
Tammy Prince Christmas Card 2019 Holiday Catalogue Let it Snow

Tammy has used the Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper for her card today, and combined that with the Frosted Frames Dies, Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies and So Many Stars stamp set, the gorgeous Cherry cobbler 1cm Diagonal Stripe Ribbon, and add some sparkle with Shimmery Crystal Effects and Ice Stampin Glitter.

So gorgeous!  Thanks for sharing with us again, Tammy.

If you would like to see what the rest of the Blog Hoppers made this week, you can find the list of participants on Claire’s blog.
Happy hopping, and happy stamping!

I couldn’t resist this gorgeous stamp set, and am having so much fun colouring the images and making cards with it.
This time I have combined it with the Night Before Christmas Designer Series Papers.

Elfie Night Before Christmas DSP

Elfie has been fussy cut after I coloured him using Stampin’ Blends.
I have also added heaps of sparkle over the white areas and the yellow, using some Wink of Stella.

Don’t have a catalogue yet?
Let me know if you are in Australia, I am happy to send one to you.

Now I have a special treat for you.
Recently a very talented lady joined my Stampin’ Up! team.  Tammy Prince is fairly new to cardmaking and stamping, but she is so very creative. And I thought I would let her share some of her work with you.  Here is her gorgeous card for this blog hop.
Tammy Christmas 1

Thanks for agreeing to share your creativity with us Tammy, and welcome to the team.
Tammy has used some of the gorgeous Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper, along with the Frosted Frames dies, and heaps of sparkle using Shimmery Crystal Effects and Ice Stampin’ Glitter.

Be sure to head to Claire’s blog, where you can find a list of all the participants in the Blog Hop.

DIY Card

This week’s challenge at Cardz4Guyz is DIY.

This one was a little challenging for me, until I remembered this great Designer Series Paper called Follow Your Art, with all the brushes and rollers…..perfect!

C4G DIY Aug19

The stamped image comes from the Host set called Believe You Can, and I have set that back behind a frame made by using one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies, and fussy cut some individual items out of the papers.
I hope you will join us at Cardz4Guyz, we love to see your projects.

Happy stamping!
Chris

Firstly today, I am very excited to let you know that I am now a member of the Design Team for Cardz 4 Guyz, and so will be posting heaps more masculine cards for you.  The challenge is fortnightly, and I hope you will share your projects with us and pop in and check out what is going on.  Here is the link to the challenge blog: https://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/

Today I am sharing my first card as a member of the Design Team, and fittingly, the theme is Music.  You may not be aware that I was a professional musician in a former part of my life and still play a lot of music, these days as an amateur in support of my son who also plays an instrument.

Cardz4Guyz Music Card

The only stamping on this card is the sentiment.  Everything else is from various sets of Designer Series Papers.  The music and wood background papers are both from Pressed Petals Designer Series Papers, and the gorgeous little bird has been fussy cut out of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Papers.
The sentiment is normally straight but since it is a photopolymer stamp, I have curved it onto the clear block, to create some nice shape.

Why not come on over to Cardz4Guyz and check out what the rest of the Design Team have been doing with this challenge.
Happy stamping!
Chris

For The Love Of Felt

Today I made my very first stamping video tutorial.
I was pretty nervous, and it was daunting, but I did it anyway.
And I am really happy about it, and plan to do heaps more.
The card that made in my video uses the stamp set For The Love of Felt, which I needed to complete the For The Love of Felt kit.
So here is the set of cards I have made:
For The Love of Felt Card Set

The colours are lovely and bright, great on a cloudy, cold and dismal day like we had here today!
Which one is your favourite?

For The Love of Felt Green CardFor The Love of Felt Orange CardFor The Love of Felt Yellow Card

I think I like the orange one best.
The leaves were left over from the kit, and the flowers coloured using Stampin’ Write markers.
You can see all of the details on how I made the cards on the youtube, I hope you enjoy it.  Please subscribe and give me a thumbs up and some love.
Happy Stamping!
