Creative Ways to Use Designer Series Paper Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping 2019

All three of my cards today, feature the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, and very little stamping.

The birds and flowers on my cards have all been cut from the DSP.

For my second card, I have used some of the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP, and overlaid a piece of embossed Vellum, making the DSP more subtle. Again, the bird and flowers were cut from the Bird Ballad DSP.

And my third card is one I have shared before in a previous post, but I thought I would go nicely as a set with these two.

This is a masculine card which combines the fussy cut bird from the Bird Ballad DSP, with some of the woodgrain and music note DSP from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Cardz 4 Guyz

Firstly today, I am very excited to let you know that I am now a member of the Design Team for Cardz 4 Guyz, and so will be posting heaps more masculine cards for you. The challenge is fortnightly, and I hope you will share your projects with us and pop in and check out what is going on. Here is the link to the challenge blog: https://cardz4guyz.blogspot.com/

Today I am sharing my first card as a member of the Design Team, and fittingly, the theme is Music. You may not be aware that I was a professional musician in a former part of my life and still play a lot of music, these days as an amateur in support of my son who also plays an instrument.

The only stamping on this card is the sentiment. Everything else is from various sets of Designer Series Papers. The music and wood background papers are both from Pressed Petals Designer Series Papers, and the gorgeous little bird has been fussy cut out of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Papers.
The sentiment is normally straight but since it is a photopolymer stamp, I have curved it onto the clear block, to create some nice shape.

Sailing in Winter

My card today was inspired by a combination of two challenges, one to use the current Season (where ever you might be in the world) from Just Add Ink, and the other is to CASE a card from page 151 of the catalogue.

It’s Winter here in Australia, and recently it has been windy, blustery, cold, rainy, sunny, warm, overcast…. pretty much everything you can think of other than snow. So I wanted to come up with something that felt like cold, windy and wintery. Hmmm yes that was a challenge!

The flying birds on this paper from the Bird Ballad DSP made me think of windy days, and I combined it with Gray Granite and Pretty Peacock.
The panel in the DSP was cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, and I have used the Sailing Home stamp set and Smooth Sailing Dies from the Come Sail Away Suite, which I am loving, so you will be seeing more of it over the next few weeks.
