Halloween!

This fortnight at The Male Room, we have a Halloween challenge.

Halloween is always a challenge for me, we don’t celebrate it very much here in Australia, although it is starting to take off a little and there are a few things in the shops, which is just as well…..

I had to go searching the shops for something to put on my Halloween card, I don’t have any stamps, just a few papers.  So I was very relieved when I found these cute cupcake toppers.  I very carefully took the stick out and trimmed them a little, then adhered them over some patterned papers and black textured cardstock.  I am loving that big, black owl!
You never know, we might make a bit of an effort this year, and put a few decorations up for Halloween.
Happy stamping!

Back To School Challenge

This month at Pattie’s Creations Design Challenge we are having a Back To School Challenge.
Here in Australia, we don’t have long school holidays in the middle of the year, we have them over the Christmas break.  But in our house, we don’t have them at all!  Or should that be, we have them all the time!??  We are a homeschooling family, so we don’t have back to school at all.

I have used the very cute Mr Bookworm With Books image, and since my son reads heaps of books, I thought I would make him a book mark.

The image has been coloured with Copic Markers, and I have used some patterned papers from my stash, and mounted it on some red cardstock – my son’s favourite colour!
Please share with us your Back To School projects at Patties Creations, we love to see what you have been creating.
Happy stamping!

Fruit!

The challenge for this fortnight at The Male Room is to make a masculine project using Fruit!

I have to admit that I am struggling to find some creativity at the moment, possibly because a large portion of my stamping stash is still packed inside those big brown boxes.  So I had to find something to do with fruit, somewhere……

I have used some cards from one of my Project Life kits which I have layered, stamped on and done some faux stitching around the edges of both card layers.  It ended up being a pretty simple card to make and I quite like the apple.
Hope you will find some “fruity” inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, and make sure you share your projects with us.
Happy stamping!

Crafty Boots Sketch Challenge

Even though I am still unpacking my craft, I managed to put together a really quick card today for this fortnight’s sketch challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.
Here is the sketch we are using for our projects:

And here is my quick and easy card 🙂

The card was made using a retired Stampin’ Up! cardmaking kit, which made it really simple to make.  Check out what the rest of the Design Team have made using this sketch.
Hopefully I will have more of my craft stash out of boxes soon, and will have more to share with you.  In the meantime,
Happy stamping!

The Male Room – Use Newsprint

A slight delay in transmission at this end, I apologise for my post being a little late.  If you didn’t know, we have just been in the process of moving to a new house in a new area.  It took us a couple of weeks to get our internet up and running, and I have no idea what day it is!!  But we are getting there, still have a heap of boxes to unpack and sort, and all my stamping goodies are still packed 😦
We have moved to a gorgeous part of Australia, called the Sapphire Coast.  Here is where I spent my day today:

And so to my slightly delayed post, my Design Team card for this fortnight’s challenge at The Male Room, which is to use Newsprint on your project.
I hope you will check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, and share your creations with us, we love to see your ideas.
Happy stamping!

Simply Papercraft Challenge 11

Time for a new challenge at Simply Papercraft today, and we have two sponsors,
Jiggery Makery

Bugaboo Stamps

I have made two cards again for this challenge, the first using this gorgeous Rose Bud Tag image.

The image has been coloured using pencils and then mounted on to some black and white patterned paper. I enjoyed colouring this image with pencils, it makes such lovely soft colours.
My second card uses the gorgeous Denise image from Jiggery Makery.

Denise has been coloured with Copic Markers, fussy cut and then layered over some patterned papers.
Make sure you join in our challenge, we love to see your papercraft projects.

Happy stamping!

Pattie’s Creations August Challenge

This month at Pattie’s Creations, we are doing an “Anything Goes” challenge.
I have chosen to use Pattie’s gorgeous Peacock image for my project.

I have coloured the Peacock using Copic Markers and mounted it using some corners cut with the Big Shot and a Die.
I hope you will play along with us this month at Pattie’s Creations – we love to see your work.
Happy stamping!

Simply Papercraft Challenge

This fortnight our sponsors at Simply Papercraft Challenges are:
Stitchy Bear Stamps

and Faery Ink

The image I have chosen from Faery Ink is called Soulful Singer.

I have coloured her with Copic Markers, then layered the image over some silver and white cardstock which I have run through the Big Shot with embossing folders.
And for my second card, I have used the Musical Notes images from Stitchy Bear Stamps.

The duke box is a stamp that came with a magazine, which I have coloured with Copic Markers, and then stamped the sentiment using a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp.
Thanks to our fabulous sponsors for this fortnights challenge.  Please share you work with us at Simply Papercraft Challenges, we love to see what you have been creating.
Happy stamping!
Chris

The Male Room – Spots and Stripes

For the next couple of weeks at The Male Room we want your masculine style projects to include SPOTS AND STRIPES.  Don’t forget you can make any type of papercraft project – but it must be for the men in our lives – both young and old.

CHALLENGE#15

I have used some polka dot papers for my background and then layered some strips of cardstock in various colours on an angle over the patterned papers.  Such a great way to use up some of those strips that we all seem to collect.

The car stamp and the sentiment were freebies from a magazine I bought recently.  Both the car and the “Happy” have been fussy cut and mounted on dimensional tape.
I hope you will join in with our challenge at The Male Room.
Happy stamping,
Chris
