A Summer Scene

The idea for my card today was to create a summer scene. It’s the middle of a cold winter here in Australia, and I needed a reminder that summer will be here before we know it, and with that, time at the beach and swimming in our beautiful ocean.
Does anyone else love swimming in the ocean? It’s something I love to do, it makes me feel so energised and refreshed.

I have used a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and a Water Painter to create my background, first applying a lot of water to the paper, and then adding some Pecan Pie ink at the bottom, then Pool Party, Summer Splash, Azure Afternoon and Blueberry Bushel inks.

The truck with the surf board in the back, and the palm trees are from the Trucking Along bundle, which is an Online Exclusive from a while back but still available here in Australia.

If you would like to share a project with us at Craftin Round the World Challenges, please join us here, we love to see what you have been creating.

Happy stamping!
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Let’s Set Sail

My card today features both retiring items, some that are staying on, and some that are in the new Annual Catalogue and not available until May.

My son is an avid sailor so the Let’s Set Sail stamp set with the matching Sailboat Builder punch was a bundle I had to have! But I am sad that it is retiring. It will be staying in my own personal stash though.

I’ve watercoloured the background behind the boat and used some of the new In Colors, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash and just a touch of Peach Pie. The boat has been stamped in Shy Shamrock and some of the new Basic Beige. I’ve also used some Balmy Blue and Azure Afternoon ink for the watercolouring, along with a tiny touch of Starry Sky ink.

And behind the watercoloured panel is some of the new Lily Pond Lane Designer Series Paper which is also available in May in the new Catalogue – just one of many perks of being a demonstrator, we get to play with new goodies before they are released publicly.

I do hope it’s your best day ever!!

Happy stamping!

Chris

Stampin’ Up! Flowering Zinnias

I’m not sure about you but this gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is just beeeautiful!!

I apologise for again a huge gap in my posts, I’ve had a lot of trouble with internet and getting WordPress to behave, so I will keep this short and sweet.
It’s called the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper and is one of the Online Exclusives. It doesn’t really need anything else, does it?
The creation of this set of four cards used one sheet of the paper and took just a few minutes.
You can purchase the Flower Zinnias DSP right here in my online store.

Colour Creations Stampin’ Up! Blackberry Bliss

This week’s Colour Creations Blog Hop is featuring my favourite of all the Stampin’ Up! colours, Blackberry Bliss.
My card this week features the Gorgeously Made Dies, combined with the Aspen Tree Dies.

I have used the Foursquare Decorative Masks to blend a very light layer of Blackberry Bliss ink onto the background, and have also used the blender brushes to colour the leaves from the Aspen Tree Dies, using Blackberry Bliss, Real Red and Mossy Meadow inks.

Next on our Blog Hop is the very talented Tina Gillespie.

If at any time you find a broken link, please go to the blog of our Colour Creations host, Catherine Proctor, who will have a list of all of the participants in the Blog Hop.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy stamping, and happy hopping,
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreaths Cards

This morning’s Facebook Live is now available to watch both on Facebook and YouTube.

As you can see, the Cottage Wreaths stamp set and matching dies are great for cards of all occasions, as well as Christmas.
I hope you enjoy watching the video, although I have to apologise for being quite distracted towards the end, one of my cats could hear me talking but couldn’t work out where I was and was getting quite vocal. Cheeky little rascal.

The kits to make the three cards are available for free to anyone who places a $30 order in my online store before midnight this coming Sunday 30th July (shipping extra). The kits will be sent out separately to your order.
And just a reminder that due to Stampin’ Up! policy, I am unable to stamp images to include in the kits – that means you get to do the fun stuff!
Don’t have the Cottage Wreaths stamp set? Try the cards with a different stamp set, that’s part of making creativity fun. Alternatively, you can order the stamp set and dies by clicking on the images below.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Colour Creations Stampin’Up! Bubble Bath

This week in our Colour Creations Blog Hop we are featuring the beautiful pale pink, Bubble Bath.

I have used some of the Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper for my background, a gorgeous ombre look, adhered to a thick Basic White cardbase. The reverse side of this sheet of DSP has bubbles in pink and if you look closely at the top where the very pale pink and white areas are, you can just see the bubbles from the reverse side – not intentional on my part, but I like the added dimension.

Over the Designer Series Paper, I have used various elements from the Gorgeously Made Dies, ( which I may be a little obsessed with at present), in Smoky Slate and Night of Navy, as well as Bubble Bath. The sentiment is from the Wildlife Wonder stamp set, stamped in Night of Navy ink.

Next along on our blog hop is Ros Davidson.

If at any time you find a broken link, please go to the blog of our Colour Creations host, Catherine Proctor, who will have a list of all of the participants in the Blog Hop.

Happy stamping, and happy hopping,
Chris

And don’t forget the fantastic sale on Designer Series Paper, during June 2023.

Hello, Irresistible

As soon as I saw this divine Designer Series Paper, it became a “must have”. Actually a “must have immediately!!” Such beautiful colours and designs.

My set of cards is inspired by one made by a US demonstrator, Amy Koenders from stampwithamyk.com.

The only stamping on these cards are the sentiments, everything else is from the DSP pack. This first card is similar to the one Amy made, and then I’ve used different colours from the DSP.

Which one do you like best? Originally I thought the first was my favourite but today it’s the middle one. Maybe tomorrow I will like a different one best.

If you love this paper as much as I do, and you live in Australia, you can order this through me. It’s not in any of the catalogues though, this is only available for a short time.

Happy stamping

Chris

A Special Thank You

Today’s card is a Birthday Card, made for a very special lady, who single handedly allowed my Stampin’ Up! business to stay afloat in 2022.

Not only did she consistently place orders with me, but she collected them from a neighbour as well. Enough orders so that I could continue as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator into 2023 and beyond.

So, Anne, thank you is not enough, thank you with all my heart, for all that you have done to help me in the last year. And Happy Birthday.

Every demonstrator needs an Anne!!

The card I made for Anne uses the Abigail Rose Designer Series paper, this time coloured with Watercolour pencils.

The stamped panel uses stamps from the Sentimental Rose kit. And one of the things I most love about Stampin’ Blends is being able to change the colour of the pearls.

The inside of the card features a fold over of the DSP with a separate pull out card underneath for words.

Happy Stamping everyone,

Chris

Handcrafted Journal

Today I am sharing something I have been working on over the past few days, my very first handcrafted Journal.

I have rather a lot of retired Designer Series Paper – I have a bit of a DSP addiction!! I love it all, and I do use it on my cards and other projects but invariably, there seems to be plenty left over.

So my Journal uses all retired Stampin’ Up!items other than some photocopy paper which I have combined with DSP for the pages, and the Muesli Bar box which was upcycled to form the cover of the Journal.

Each page is different, some are stamped, some have hand cut birds, most are sponged, spritzed and splattered. I had a lot of fun!!

And all the pages are properly bound into the cover.

I absolutely loved making this project and I can see a lot more of them happening in the future, incorporating some mixed media techniques as well .

I think I’ll start on the Jatz box tomorrow!!

Happy stamping, sponging, spritzing and splattering!!

Chris

You’re A Peach

Today I have been playing with the Embossing Paste for the first time, trying a few things out and experimenting, which is always fun.

This card is made up almost entirely of the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper, with the only stamping being the sentiment.

Behind the peaches, on the green background, I have created a little bit of texture by putting some of the paste directly onto the DSP through one of the Decorative Masks. It’s quite subtle but adds just a little extra interest. Here’s a close up…

All the peaches and flowers were fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper.

So there is my first play with the paste. Stay tuned for some more!!

Happy stamping!

Chris
