Autumn or Halloween Challenge

A new challenge at Crafty Boots this week, where you have a choice, an Autumn project or a Halloween project.
Here in Australia it’s not Autumn, and Halloween is still not a big celebration, so I thought I would make a card with an Autumn feel.

My card features the Sheltering Tree stamp set, using lots of lovely Autumn colours.
Having said that Halloween is not celebrated much here in Australia, we are starting to see some decorations in the shops, and my 9 year old son has decided he wants to get involved a little with it this year, so we are learning about Halloween, and working out some costumes, decorations and food.  Hopefully a few others in our area will be Trick or Treating 🙂
I hope you will share your Halloween or Autumn projects with us this fortnight at Crafty Boots Challenges, and I promise to share some Halloween photos with you 🙂
Happy stamping!

Halloween!

This fortnight at The Male Room, we have a Halloween challenge.

Halloween is always a challenge for me, we don’t celebrate it very much here in Australia, although it is starting to take off a little and there are a few things in the shops, which is just as well…..

I had to go searching the shops for something to put on my Halloween card, I don’t have any stamps, just a few papers.  So I was very relieved when I found these cute cupcake toppers.  I very carefully took the stick out and trimmed them a little, then adhered them over some patterned papers and black textured cardstock.  I am loving that big, black owl!
You never know, we might make a bit of an effort this year, and put a few decorations up for Halloween.
Happy stamping!

In the Pink!

This fortnight at Crafty Boots Challenges, we are going Pink!  So think girly, although of course we would love to see something masculine in pink if you want 🙂
My card for this challenge is definitely girly though….

I had some new goodies arrive today, and I had to have a play.  I have used some of the gorgeous Timeless Elegance Designer Series Papers.  The papers are black and cream, but I have coloured over it with a pink marker so that it looks like black on pink.  I have combined with the Butterfly Basics stamp set and matching butterfly dies, and the sentiment comes from the retired Blooming With Kindness stamp set.
It’s not a great photo as we had a very dull and overcast day today – lots of rain and thunderstorms though, which is always good for the garden.  However, despite the shadowy image, I hope you can see all the different pinks.
Come and join in with us at Crafty Boots, and show us your pink projects!
Happy stamping!

Dragonfly Dreams Ribbons and Bows

For this month’s challenge at Dragonfly Dreams, we  have all been adding gorgeous Ribbons and Bows!
Our sponsor is A Day for Daisies, and I chose the gorgeous “Music” image to work with.

Isn’t she just gorgeous? I love the pretty layers of her dress and the old fashioned Pianoforte she is playing.
Come and join us for the Ribbons and Bows challenge at Dragonfly Dreams, we love to see what you have been creating.
Happy stamping!

Patty’s Autumn Challenge

This month at Pattie’s Creations challenge, we are doing an Autumn (or Fall) or Halloween challenge.
I have chosen the Autumn Wreath image to use for my card for this challenge.

Here is my card:

I have used some lovely retired paper for the background, I love the look of the wood planks.
The image has been coloured using Copic Markers and then fussy cut – yep, with scissors!
I hope you will join us with your own Autumn project this month at Pattie’s Creations Challenge.
Happy stamping!

Autumn at The Male Room!

We are having an Autumn Challenge this fortnight at The Male Room.

And while the weather over in the Northern Hemisphere is cooling down for Autumn, here in Australia it is definitely feeling like Spring.  Not quite warm enough for a swim at the beach, but I don’t think it will be long 🙂
My card for this challenge is a Clean and Simple (CAS) card, featuring one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! stamp sets….

Lovely As A Tree – yep, an oldie but a goodie, it has been around so long, and it is so very versatile.  And the splodges of colour are a stamp from the Work of Art stamp set.
Lots of Autumn inspiration from the rest of the Design Team at The Male Room, so make sure you pop on over and have a look.  And why not join in and share your Autumn projects with us.
Happy stamping!

Neon Colour Challenge

Our challenge at The Male Room for the next fortnight is to use Neon Colours on your projects.
I knew straight away that this one was going to make me think…..  I don’t have any Neon colours anywhere in my stash.
So I went shopping and found a pack of neon coloured cardstock in my local $2 shop!  And here is what I did with it……

Yep, I had fun!  I cut strips of the different colours into long triangle shapes and stuck them onto a cardstock backing to create a starburst, then stamped and fussy cut the motor bike from the Stampin’ Up! “Rev Up The Fun!” stamp set and mounted it over the centre of the starburst.  That is one bright card!!
Lots of inspiration from the rest of the Design Team at The Male Room, so why not have a look at what they have all come up with.  And make sure you share your projects with us too.
Happy stamping!

Crafty Boots Monochromatic Challenge

This fortnight at Crafty Boots Challenges, the theme is Monochromatic.  Just in case you were wondering exactly what that means, here is the dictionary definition:  “a painting or drawing in different shades of a single colour.
I chose shades of pink!

I have had time to play with the beautiful “Fluttering” embossing folder until now, and decided to make that my background.  I have used some light weight pink paper that I got from a local office supplies shop, and it has a lovely sheen to it.
Love all the pretty pink butterflies!
I hope you will play along with us at Crafty Boots Challenges.

Happy stamping!

Crafty Boots Sketch Challenge Reminder

Don’t forget to play along with our current challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, here is the sketch we are using for our projects:

I have made a masculine card which is a little removed from the original sketch in that I have used a large rectangle instead of the half circle at the top, but I hope you can see how I have used the sketch to design my card.

The patterned papers were all from my stash, and I have stamped directly onto the papers using the fish from By
The Tide stamp set, and the words come from Boys Will Be Boys stamp set.  Have a look at more awesome projects using this sketch at the Crafty Boots blog.
Happy stamping!

Pink Rose Fairy

This month at Dragonfly Dreams Challenge, it’s all about the girly stuff!  We want to see some really feminine projects from you in September.
Our sponsor this month is Sweet Pea Stamps,

and for my project I have chosen the gorgeous Pink Rose Fairy image by the very talented Gabriella Szabo.
I loved colouring this gorgeous image!

I have used my Copic Markers to colour, and added some fabric roses, lace, ribbon and pearls to add more of the feminine touch. 🙂
I hope you will join us at Dragonfly Dreams Challenge this month, and show us your feminine projects.
Happy stamping!
