AWH Monthly Showcase

Welcome to the Monthly Art With Heart Creative Showcase.
This month the Art With Heart Team have amazing projects to share with you that have been inspired by the card sketch below.
The sketch is to be used as a starting point and has been interpreted in many creative ways by the Art With Heart Team.

Sketch Challenge May 2020

I have used the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set for my card, a favourite which I am very happy to say, is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue!!

Watercoloured Magnolia Good Morning Magnolia Pencils Stampin' Up! 2020 Christina Barnes

I have watercoloured the image with watercolour pencils and an aqua painter.
The pencil colours are in Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry colours, but they come out a lot lighter when they have been diluted with the water.
The flag on the top left has been run through the die cutting machine with the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder.

Masculine Card Showcase

Welcome to another Creative Showcase with the Art With Heart Team.

This month we are featuring Masculine themed projects.
We have many masculine themed products in the Stampin’ Up! range including Stamp Sets and coordinating Dies, Designer Series Papers, Embellishments and Embossing Folders.
Art With Heart Team have a wonderful selection of projects to inspire you to create Masculine Masterpieces.

I have done something a little different with my masculine card today, in that I have used some Designer Series Paper that is definitely not masculine.
It’s the Best Dressed DSP and probably not one you would have chosen for a masculine card.  But I have used the reverse side of this one….

and used it as a background for my masculine card.

And I also wanted to keep it nice and simple, so have taken a piece of the fabulous watercolour paper, wet it down with an aqua painter, and then swooshed some ink across it, very quickly and freely.
Then once the watercolour paper was dry, I stamped the lighthouse and birds from the Sailing Home stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink, and the words are from the New Wonders stamp set.
Layered over some Pretty Peacock cardstock, and it’s a very quick and easy card to make.

I hope you enjoy all of the inspiration.

Laser-Cut Cards

Magnolia Lane Laser Cut Cards Christina Barnes Dot Dot Stamping

The Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Card Tin must be one of the most gorgeous products in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue!
Ok, yes, I may have said something similar about a few other products, too.
However, these are just perfect for adding all sorts of other things to, and making beautiful, feminine cards with.
Today I have combined the Laser-Cut Cards with the large magnolia image from the Magnolia Lane Suite.

The magnolia was stamped onto some of the new Stampin’ Up! watercolour paper – a very worthwhile investment if you haven’t tried it yet, using Black Stazon ink, and watercoloured using an Aqua Painter and ink pads.
I have die cut the magnolia and then cut off a couple of the leaves.
For the finishing touches, the sentiment is from the Buttefly Wishes stamp set, and the gorgeous copper coloured leaves come from the Brightly Gleaming Foil Elements which are on Page 31 of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue.

If you would like to try out some of the Watercolour Paper, or grab yourself some of those gorgeous Laser-Cut cards, you can order them through my online store here.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping,
Chris

Purple Magnolia

Another card using the gorgeous Magnolia Lane Suite.
Purple Watercoloured Magnolia Card
Not sure that this is a colour for a Magnolia in real life, but it still looks pretty.

I stamped the gorgeous Magnolia using Stazon ink, onto Shimmery White cardstock, and then cut it out using the matching Die, from the Magnolia Memory Dies.
I used an Aqua Painter to spread a thin layer of water over each area before adding colour.  The colours I have used are Old Olive and Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, and Highland Heather, with some So Saffron for the centre of the flower.

As a background I have combined a piece of Whisper White cardstock, embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder, and some of the gorgeous Garden Lane Designer Series Papers, layered over a Soft Seafoam card base.

I didn’t think it needed anything extra, so left it just like that.  Of course, you could add some twine or rhinestones.

Happy stamping!
Chris
