Punch Art Kitty

I had a little bit of fun this afternoon, making this cute kitty and designing a card for him to go on.

PunchArtKitty

We do love our four legged friends in this family, we have four beautiful cats (who live inside) and two rabbits (who live outside).  I had a little helper while I was making this card today, so if you see any black hairs they will be our little black cat’s contribution.  She does so love helping me craft, usually sitting on me or whatever I am making at the time and purring very loudly!
I didn’t think the kitty on my card would look as good all black though, so I did this one in similar colours to one of our other gorgeous cats, Biff.  Here is a photo, do you think it looks like him? 🙂

Anyway, the background papers are from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack, and I have used some of the Ovals Collection Framelits to create a frame for kitty to sit inside.  For kitty I have used the following punches:  1 3/4inch Circle Punch for the body, Flower Medallion Punch for the ears, Bow Builder Punch, trimmed with paper snips for the tail, Owl Builder Punch for the eyes and nose, and a retired punch (can’t remember the name of it, sorry) for those cute little paws.  And then just used a Black Marker to add some detail.
The words come from You Little Furball stamp set.

I am entering this card in the current Send A Smile 4 Kids Animal Cards Challenge.

Happy stamping

Up In The Air

The new challenge at The Male Room for the next fortnight is a theme of “Up In The Air but No Birds Allowed!”

Heaps of things you can still do with this challenge, planes, clouds, hot air balloons, or…… parachutists!

My card uses some gorgeous new Stampin’ Up! papers from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack, and this great image is from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set.  Plus I have used a small piece of the new Corrugated cardstock to add a little more texture to my card.
Make sure you check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.
Happy stamping!

Black and White Challenge

Our challenge at Crafty Boots for the next fortnight, is to make Black and White projects.
My card features the gorgeous Butterflies Thinlits dies from Stampin’ Up!

Such a beautiful butterfly, it is one of my favourite dies, and makes it so easy to make a lovely card quickly and easily.
Make sure you share your Black and White projects with us at Crafty Boots Challenges.
Happy stamping!

Sketch Challenge Reminder

Posting up a card today, as a reminder to join us at Crafty Boots Challenges, for the current sketch challenge.

My card features the Flower Fair Framelits Dies and matching Flower Patch stamps. The flower shapes have been cut out of the black layer of cardstock, and then placed over some Melon Mambo cardstock.  Then some smaller flowers have been stamped onto the pink layer to look like the centres of the flowers.
I just love these lovely bright colours, especially on the first, snowy day of winter!  Yes, we had snow this morning, and our snow man is still standing!
Hope you will join our sketch challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.

Happy stamping!

Gingham, Checks, Plaid or Tartan

This week at Cardz 4 Guys, Helen has challenged us to use Check, Gingham, Plaid or Tartan on our projects, and it must be a prominent feature.

My card features once again, some of the some of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up! which has become one of my favourites for masculine cards.  And I have combined it with another favourite, the wonderful Lovely As A Tree stamp set. It must be one of the most popular stamp sets ever, great for all sorts of occasions, and again, wonderful for masculine cards.
This is my last week with the team at Cardz 4 Guys, I have enjoyed being Guest Designer for the month of May and just want to say thanks to the rest of the Design Team for having me along.

Happy Stamping!

Cardz 4 Guys Make Your Mark

This week’s challenge at Cardz 4 Guys has been chosen by Julie who would like you to create your project using Man (Woman) made marks only.  Stitching, inks, embossing, any colouring pens/pencils, water colours, stencils.

I made two cards for this week’s challenge:

The first card uses some retired Stampin’ Up! papers for a background, and I have stamped direct onto the papers using the Adventure Awaits and The Open Sea stamp sets.

My second card was a slightly different interpretation of the “Make Your Mark” theme, since I didn’t have any more information about this challenge at the time.

I have used a digital image called Graduation Guy from Kenny K Downloads, which has been coloured with Copic Markers.
Check out what the rest of the Design Team have come up with for this challenge at Cardz 4 Guys Challenges.

Happy stamping!

Spring Song

Today I am sharing my Design Team card for the May Challenge at Crafting With An Attitude.

I have used a gorgeous Digi from That Craft Place for my card, called Spring Song.  She has been coloured with Copic Markers, and mounted on various papers from my large stash!  The ribbon and flower brad are retired Stampin’ Up! goodies, and the paper flowers again from my stash.
A big thanks to our sponsors for the month of May:

Watering Can Tulips

I think this is the last of the Mother’s Day card for this year, and is made using another gorgeous Digi from Imagine That! called Watering Can Tulips.

The image has been coloured using Copic Markers, and the background papers are Stampin’ Up! Lullaby Designer Series Papers.  The papers are currently available, but soon to be retiring, so won’t be around for much longer.
I apologise for the photo, the Twine flopped down over the writing without me realising, but I am sure you can make out that it says “Happy”! 🙂
And on that note, Happy Stamping!

Birds!

This week’s challenge at The Male Room is to make a project featuring birds.  As you know, I really enjoy making masculine cards, and they seem to be quite popular with the customers at the local shop which sells my cards.

I have based my card on a sketch from The Paper Players, but didn’t get it completed in time for the challenge.  Thought I would use the sketch anyway! 🙂

Here is my card:

I decided to use all browns for this one, and use some different papers from the retiring Stampin’ Up! paper stacks.  Oh don’t worry, there will be more paper stacks, just in different patterns to these ones.
This lovely bird image is from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set called MoonLake – one of my all time favourites.

Happy stamping!

Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge

I can’t believe how quickly this month has gone by, and the last week of April brings me to my final week as Guest Designer with Just Add Ink.  I have loved playing along with this great bunch of lovely ladies, and really enjoyed sharing my ideas with all of you.
This week’s challenge is to use this sketch for your inspiration:

I have used the sketch to make a masculine card, featuring the Moon Lake stamp set and the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.

The image has been stamped in Early Espresso ink and then some light colouring added using Markers, and the circle layers cut with Framelits.
Thanks again to the ladies from the Just Add Ink team for having me along this month.  Make sure you check out all the inspiration from the Design Team here.
Happy stamping!
