Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge

I can’t believe how quickly this month has gone by, and the last week of April brings me to my final week as Guest Designer with Just Add Ink.  I have loved playing along with this great bunch of lovely ladies, and really enjoyed sharing my ideas with all of you.
This week’s challenge is to use this sketch for your inspiration:

I have used the sketch to make a masculine card, featuring the Moon Lake stamp set and the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.

The image has been stamped in Early Espresso ink and then some light colouring added using Markers, and the circle layers cut with Framelits.
Thanks again to the ladies from the Just Add Ink team for having me along this month.  Make sure you check out all the inspiration from the Design Team here.
Happy stamping!

Easter Challenge Reminder

A quick reminder today about our Easter Challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.
I have made two quick and easy cards, both using the “For Peep’s Sake” stamp set.

The first card uses some retired papers, but I love the bright, vibrant colours, so couldn’t resist using them.

And for the second card, I have used a sponge dauber to change the colour on the words.
Make sure you check out some other Easter inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

Happy stamping!
Chris

Creative Ladybirds Challenge 2

We have two wonderful sponsors this month for the Creative Ladybirds Creations Challenge number 2, they are Oddball Art and Stitchy Bears.

My first card features a Duet image from Stitchy Bears, which is just so cute!

I kept the rest of the card simple so that the image is very much the focal point of the card, just using some music note papers from my stash.
And my second card features another gorgeous image, this sweet fairy with her dragonfly from Oddball Art.

Again, I have used some patterned papers from my stash in the background, coloured the image and then fussy cut it and layered it onto the card.
I do hope you will join in with our month challenge at Creative Ladybirds Creations, we love to see all of your wonderful projects.
Happy stamping!

Easter is nearly here…

This week’s Crafty Boots challenge is, of course, Easter.  I wonder what special things you will do for Easter?  Do you have family traditions?
Here in Australia, it is Autumn and the days are getting shorter and cooler, and we are getting prepared for the cold months ahead.  So for us, Easter is not a time when the flowers are emerging and spring is in the air, and we often celebrate Easter with fires lit and warmer clothes starting to appear.  I think I will get my knitting out!
In any case, it is a good excuse to stay cosily inside stamping and crafting! 🙂

My Easter card today uses a beautiful image from Angels Landing, which I have coloured with Copics. I have combined it with some pretty papers from my stash, and the words from the Stampin’ Up! Hello You Thinlits Dies and Crazy About You stamp set.

Wishing all of you a Happy Easter!  And I hope you will share your Easter projects with us at Crafty Boots Challenges – we love to see what you have been making!
Happy stamping!

An Old Classic

A quick and easy masculine card today, using up some bits and pieces from my stash, for the current challenge at Cardz 4 Guys Challenge Blog.

I had fun with this card! The Old Classic car stamp came from a magazine which had a free stamp set with it, with a heap of Retro images, many of which are fantastic for making masculine cards.  Everything else came from my (large) stash! 🙂
So I will keep this post short, and come back later with something completely different!
In the meantime, happy stamping!

Spring Challenge Reminder

A quick post today with a reminder about the Crafty Boots “Spring” Challenge.

My card features the beautiful stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue called Indescribable Gift.  It is a beautiful stamp for colouring, I think I might have to try it in some different colours too 🙂  The circle with the coloured image has been layered over some of the Irresistibly Yours Specialty papers from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue.  The photo hasn’t shown the background paper up very well, this is one card that is definitely better in real life than in the photo!!

Hoping you will share some of your spring projects with us, at Crafty Boots Challenges – we love to see what you have come up with.
Happy stamping!

Another Masculine Card

I really enjoyed making the card in my previous post, using this great sketch from the current challenge at The Male Room.

I liked the sketch so much that I thought I would make a second card, this time using a completely different colour combination.

All of the patterned papers are now retired, unfortunately, I love these colours together!  And I had some fun putting together some different shapes and geometrical patterns.  There are so many different things I can think of to do with this sketch…..  but not enough hours in the day to make all of them!

Hope you are having a crafty weekend.
Happy stamping!

A Sketch Challenge

Another masculine card today, this time based on a sketch for the challenge at The Male Room.

I have used some paper from the Typeset Speciality Series papers for the background of this card, with images stamped from The Open Sea stamp set.  I’ve added some linen thread and some of my favourite paper piercing, and the circles and squares have all been cut using Framelits dies, which makes it quite a quick and easy card!

Happy Stamping!

Feature a Sentiment

Continuing on with the current Crafty Boots challenge to use a Sentiment on your project, I have made some more cards featuring different sentiments.
My first card uses a cute image and sentiment from a long ago retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called “Hand Knit” which hasn’t been used (shocking!!) until now, along with some of the papers from the Adventure Bound Paper Stack.

Love that cute little sheep! In case you can’t read the writing, it says, “Knitting keeps us from Unravelling”, which I definitely have to agree with, along with colouring, cardmaking, crafting in general……….  🙂
And I have made two masculine cards, the first features a sentiment from the Adventure Awaits stamp set combined with some papers from Maritime Designer Series Papers, and the ship is from the stamp set called Traveler.

And lastly, I have used some papers from my stash and stamped directly on to it using one of the sentiments from the Big On You stamp set.  I have then coloured in parts of the lettering so that it stood out a little more, using a Basic Black Marker.

The card is finished off with some “Faux stitching” around the edge of the paper, and some black candy dots in the corners.  A pretty simple card really.
I do hope you will join us this week and share your projects with us.   Check out more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team at Crafty Boots Challenges.
Happy stamping!

Use a Sentiment

The challenge for the next fortnight with Crafty Boots Challenges, is to use a Sentiment.
That leaves it right open to interpretation, doesn’t it?  Also makes it really easy for you to show us some of your projects 🙂
My project for this week’s challenge is a masculine card:

Sentiment 1

I have used the Adventure Awaits stamp set, and combined that with some papers from the Adventure Bound DSP stack, both of which are perfect for making masculine cards.
We love to see all your gorgeous projects, so please share them with us at Crafty Boots Challenge Blog.
Happy stamping!
