Cards for our Troops

A quick post today to share with you two cards I have made for Combat Cards.  Combat Cards is a wonderful organisation which sends handmade cards over to our troops who are serving overseas, so that they can send a card to their loved ones.

Having spent 5 years in the Armed Forces myself, I know what it feels like to be away from family and friends for an extended period of time, so it makes me happy to know that I am helping out in some small way.

My cards are made with some retired bits and pieces from an old Simply Scrappin’ Kit.  I need to use up some old stuff so that I can fill the spaces with new stuff!! 🙂 Right?  🙂
Have a crafty weekend!

Soho Subway

This is one of my favourite patterned papers from this year’s Annual Catalogue, it’s great for those masculine projects.
So with Father’s Day fast approaching us here in Australia (1st September), I thought I would offer a class using the Soho Subway DSP, and we will make a card plus a holder for those store Gift Cards, or some other small gift.

Of course, you could use it for a birthday gift or any other special occasion.

You need to contact me to book into the class, which will be held at my place (hopefully with most of the major renovations completed by then!!) on Wed 28th August at 7.30pm, or Saturday 31st August at 2pm.  Please send me an email if you would like to come as places are limited.

Happy Stamping!

Need for Speed

Need For Speed is such a fabulous stamp set for male cards for the men in our lives, and you will be happy to know that there are some more good male stamp sets coming in the new catalogue (only a week to wait now!).  So with Father’s Day coming up, I thought I would share some cards made with this set.
Not sure if I am entirely happy with the colours of these cards, a little too “army” for my liking. What do you think?
I kept the first one fairly simple, and used some of the brads from the Vintage Trinkets on the corners, and wound the Linen Thread around the outside a few times.  I think it frames the image nicely.

The second card uses the Triple Time technique which I showed you here, along with some Artichoke Denim Jean Ribbon.
The colours in these cards are Always Artichoke, River Rock and Very Vanilla.

I have quite a bit to share with you over the coming week or so, so stay tuned.  And make sure you sign up for my newsletter to get all the latest news along with ideas and stamping tips and techniques!
Happy stamping!
