Just Add…. Sequins!

This week’s Just Add Ink challenge is to use Sequins.  Definitely a challenge for me, sequins are some I seem to avoid using, not for any particular reason, I just don’t think of using them.  But I do like a challenge! 🙂

To create my card, I have used the Word Bubble Framelits, in particular, the cloud shaped one.  I have used it to cut out a cloud of heavy cardboard, which I have then used as a template to sponge around, creating the cloudy sky look in the background.  I have made two clouds in silver foil and then embossed them with polka dots.  The umbrella comes from the Hostess stamp set called Life’s Adventure, normally the umbrella is held by a cute fox but this time I just wanted the umbrella.  And yes, of course, some shiny sequins coming out of those silver clouds 🙂
There are lots of gorgeous ideas and ways of using sequins from the rest of the Design Team here.  And I look forward to sharing my last card as Guest Designer with Just Add Ink next week.
Happy stamping!

Red, White and Blue

This week’s challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is to use the colour combination of Red, White and/or Blue in any combination you choose.
I have made a fairly quick and easy masculine card using a nautical theme for my project.

The papers are from the Maritime Designer Series Paper (Stampin’ Up!) and I really like the little bit of aqua colour in there to freshen it up a little.
You can see all the other inspiration from the rest of the Design Team here.
Join us with your own projects.  Happy stamping!

Just Add Ink #258

This week’s challenge at Just Add Ink is to use this absolutely gorgeous colour combination:

Lots of pretty things you can do with those colours 🙂

My card this week features the ever popular and beautiful Blooming With Kindness stamp set.  I have sponged the Melon Mambo and Blackberry Bliss ink onto the stamp, to create the variations in colour, and then stamped the image two or three times so that it comes out lighter and lighter each time.
The Lace has had some Velvet trim threaded through, and both of those and the metal flower button come from the Artisan Embellishment Kit from the Occasions Catalogue.
Thanks again to the lovely ladies from the Just Add Ink team, for having me as their Guest Designer this month.
Make sure you pop on over to Just Add Ink and check out all the fabulous inspiration there.

Happy stamping!

Easter Challenge Reminder

A quick reminder today about our Easter Challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.
I have made two quick and easy cards, both using the “For Peep’s Sake” stamp set.

The first card uses some retired papers, but I love the bright, vibrant colours, so couldn’t resist using them.

And for the second card, I have used a sponge dauber to change the colour on the words.
Make sure you check out some other Easter inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

Happy stamping!

Just Add Ink #257 Inspiration Challenge

I am feeling very honoured to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for the month of April with the Just Add Ink team.  I always love their challenges, and this week’s is an Inspiration Challenge.

I was in two minds with this one (well, maybe three or four actually), but in the end the pretty flowers and lace won out.

I have used some of the elements from the Artisan Embellishment Kit in the current Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue.  The beautiful roses Die cut layer has been spritzed with some gold (although it is a little difficult to see the gold in this photo).   Then I have used the Sahara Sand Lace Trim along the edges of the card, and also to make the lacey flower, which has the beautiful Resin Flower from the Artisan Embellishment Kit in the centre.

Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Teams projects for this week, and share your own with us, at Just Add Ink.
Happy Stamping!

Crafting With An Attitude!!

Today is my very first as part of the Design Team at Crafting With An Attitude Challenges.  Don’t you just love that name? 🙂
Our sponsor for this month’s challenge is Sassy Studios Designs:

And here is my card, using the Masquerade Ball Sassy image.

MasqueradeBallSassy

I have coloured my Sassy lady using Copic Markers, before fussy cutting the image out with some paper snips.  The background image is the Grand Stairway from Make It Crafty, which has been very lightly coloured before Sassy lady was layered over the top using some dimensional tape.
Why not join us in April at Crafting With An Attitude, for your chance to win some gorgeous Sassy Studio Design images.
Happy stamping!

Creative Ladybirds Challenge 2

We have two wonderful sponsors this month for the Creative Ladybirds Creations Challenge number 2, they are Oddball Art and Stitchy Bears.

My first card features a Duet image from Stitchy Bears, which is just so cute!

I kept the rest of the card simple so that the image is very much the focal point of the card, just using some music note papers from my stash.
And my second card features another gorgeous image, this sweet fairy with her dragonfly from Oddball Art.

Again, I have used some patterned papers from my stash in the background, coloured the image and then fussy cut it and layered it onto the card.
I do hope you will join in with our month challenge at Creative Ladybirds Creations, we love to see all of your wonderful projects.
Happy stamping!

Easter is nearly here…

This week’s Crafty Boots challenge is, of course, Easter.  I wonder what special things you will do for Easter?  Do you have family traditions?
Here in Australia, it is Autumn and the days are getting shorter and cooler, and we are getting prepared for the cold months ahead.  So for us, Easter is not a time when the flowers are emerging and spring is in the air, and we often celebrate Easter with fires lit and warmer clothes starting to appear.  I think I will get my knitting out!
In any case, it is a good excuse to stay cosily inside stamping and crafting! 🙂

My Easter card today uses a beautiful image from Angels Landing, which I have coloured with Copics. I have combined it with some pretty papers from my stash, and the words from the Stampin’ Up! Hello You Thinlits Dies and Crazy About You stamp set.

Wishing all of you a Happy Easter!  And I hope you will share your Easter projects with us at Crafty Boots Challenges – we love to see what you have been making!
Happy stamping!

An Old Classic

A quick and easy masculine card today, using up some bits and pieces from my stash, for the current challenge at Cardz 4 Guys Challenge Blog.

I had fun with this card! The Old Classic car stamp came from a magazine which had a free stamp set with it, with a heap of Retro images, many of which are fantastic for making masculine cards.  Everything else came from my (large) stash! 🙂
So I will keep this post short, and come back later with something completely different!
In the meantime, happy stamping!

Message In The Bottle

Another “Under Water” card today, for the challenge at The Male Room.
I like this challenge, this one had me thinking of all sorts of things to try out!  For my card today, I have used a Digital image from Make It Crafty, of a message in a bottle.

The image has been coloured using Copic markers, and then to make it look more like it was underwater, I have layered over the top, an Acetate Photo Filter Frame from the Project Life “Let’s Get Away” Accessory Pack. The photo filter adds that blue, green, yellow colour over the colouring and gives it a little more depth and interest.
Behind the main image, I have stamped some tiny fish and starfish (which are a little difficult to see in the photo), using the Stampin’ Up! Sea Street stamp set.

Happy stamping!
