Black and White Challenge Reminder

A quick reminder tonight, to share your Black and White projects with us at Crafty Boots Challenges.
My card this week uses this wonderful digital image from Imagine That!

I have used a music notes embossing folder for the background with some gorgeous shiny black and silver ribbon.

I am entering my card in the current challenge at Crafty Cardmakers – the challenge is to use a sentiment.
Happy crafting!

Up In The Air

The new challenge at The Male Room for the next fortnight is a theme of “Up In The Air but No Birds Allowed!”

Heaps of things you can still do with this challenge, planes, clouds, hot air balloons, or…… parachutists!

My card uses some gorgeous new Stampin’ Up! papers from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack, and this great image is from the Boys Will Be Boys stamp set.  Plus I have used a small piece of the new Corrugated cardstock to add a little more texture to my card.
Make sure you check out the inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.
Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketches 191

My card this morning uses a combination of the sketch from the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge, which I have combined with the current Just Add Ink challenge of using Topography.  This is my second entry in the Just Add Ink challenge but I wanted to show a completely different way of using script or lettering on your projects.
Here is the sketch:

FMS191

I have kept my card very simple, and it really only took me a few minutes to make.

I have used a white card base, and separate white layer which I have run through the Big Shot with an embossing folder which came as a free gift with a magazine.  Then I have lightly sponged some ink on the area I wanted highlighted, just using a sponge dauber.  Then a couple of strips of patterned paper attached behind the white layer before adhere it to the card base.  It’s a great way of using up some of those thin strips of patterned paper, or coloured cardstock, that we all manage to collect.
Happy stamping!

Best Thoughts

This week’s challenge at Just Add Ink is to use Typography on your project.
I have used the gorgeous new Stampin’ Up! Hostess stamp set Best Thoughts for my card.

I liked the look of this rolled technique, and thought I would give it a try, however I am not entirely happy with how it turned out.  Note to self: always wait until the glue has dried before taking the photo!!
I also needed to spritz the cardstock with some water before rolling it, this makes the cardstock more easily manipulated.  I will have to give it another go! 🙂
I have used the colours Perfect Plum, Blackberry Bliss and Very Vanilla, along with some of the Typeset Specialty papers and an Antique Brad.

Did you know that you can get the hostess sets for your self, in a number of ways.  You can host a stamping party with some friends.  You can place an order of $250 or more.  Or you can collect orders from other crafters to make up a total order of $250 or more.  Contact me if you would like to know more.
Happy stamping!

Simply Papercraft Challenge 7

Our sponsor for the next fortnight at Simply Papercraft, is Lacy Sunshine.

I have chosen the very cute Sarah Jane image for my project.  Such a gorgeous girl!

Sarah Jane has been coloured with Copic Markers.  The background papers are all retired Stampin’ Up! papers, and everything else are bits and pieces from my stash.
Please share your projects with us at Simply Papercraft, we love to see what you have been up to.

Happy stamping!

Masculine Challenge Card

Just a quick reminder to share your masculine projects with us this week at Crafty Boots Challenges.

My card uses the Traveler stamp set from Stampin’ Up!, and I have inked up the steam train in Chocolate Chip ink.  The papers are (unfortunately) retired ones, but I loved the colours and thought it worked well with this particular image.
Hope you have a crafty week.  Happy stamping!

The Male Room Design Team

Very excited again today, I can finally let you know that I have been asked to be part of the wonderful team of designers with one of my favourite challenges at The Male Room!

DT Member badge

I have been holding on to that piece of information for a while now, but very happy to be able to share it now 🙂
This week’s challenge is to add a tag to your project:

CHALLENGE#12

I thought I would keep my card quite clean and simple today, and use one of the gorgeous new Stampin’ Up! In Colours, called Tip Top Taupe!  Cool name!

The striped patterned paper come from the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  I have created a tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch, with some Faux Stitching around the edge and some Natural Chevron Ribbon through the top.  The globe image comes from the Traveler stamp set, definitely a favourite for making masculine cards!
Looking forward to sharing heaps of masculine cards with you, and to seeing all of your projects.  So please share them with us at The Male Room.
Happy stamping!

Masculine Crafty Boots Challenge

Crafty Boots Challenges is going Masculine for the next two weeks, we want you to create a Masculine project to share with us.
I have made an easy card for this week, using some cool masculine patterned papers which I found in my local craft shop.

The strip of patterned paper along the bottom has been layered over two strips of Natural Chevron Ribbon.
You might also recognise the layout as last fortnight’s sketch challenge! 🙂
That’s it for me for this time, but I will have another masculine project for you next Monday. Please join in and share you work with us at Crafty Boots Challenges.
Happy stamping!

Dragonfly Dreams Challenge

A new challenge for you to join in with today, called Dragonfly Dreams Challenges.
Our sponsor for the month of June is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

I have used some new patterned papers in the background of my card, from the new Stampin’ Up! paper pack called Cherry On Top.  I  love the bright and cheery colours.

The image of the bear was pre-coloured, however I wanted a little more depth of colour and to make it look like he had fur, so I have coloured it with Copic Markers using a curly flick.  I just adore his gorgeous face! 🙂
A big thank you to Laurian and the rest of the team for inviting me to join the Dragonfly Dreams team.

Make sure you join us with your own projects.

Happy stamping!
Chris

Creative Ladybirds Challenge #4

Our Sponsor for the month of June at Creative Ladybirds Creations, is Deedee’s Digis.

I have made two cards for your inspiration, the first using the gorgeous Right On Track set of images, and some papers that I picked up from my local craft store.

The second card uses the Cup of Joy set of images.

Both cards have been coloured using Copics markers, and both use up some bits and pieces from my stash of cardmaking goodies.
A big thanks to Deedee’s Digis for sponsoring us this month.  Make sure you play along with us at Creative Ladybirds Creations for your chance to win a shop voucher to the value of $25 from Deedee’s Digis.

Happy stamping!
