An Oldie but a Goodie

A quick reminder today to join us in the “Something Old, Something New” challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges.
For my project today, I have made a card using a stamp set that was in the catalogue when I first joined Stampin’ Up! in 2008, Lovely As A Tree.  Definitely an oldie but a goodie 🙂

And for the “new” part, I have stamped the sentiment using the Rose Wonder stamp set, and the versatile Hearth and Home Framelits dies.
Hope you join in with our challenge at Crafty Boots, and remember, your interpretation of “Something Old, Something New” doesn’t have to be the same as mine…. 🙂
Happy stamping!

Anything Goes at The Male Room

A new year sees a whole heap of great new challenges at The Male Room, with our first challenge for the year being Anything Goes – as long as it is masculine of course!

I am going to share with you the Box Card I made for my son for his recent 10th Birthday.  I haven’t tried one of these Box Cards before, so had heaps of fun trying out something new.
I wanted to combine the things that my son loves, so that would be cricket, and music, and of course I needed to add lots of balloons.  Then I needed to make sure I used his favourite colours, red and gold.  So here is the end result……

The balloons are stamped and punched out and come from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.  The number “10” was die cut from Red Foil using the Large Numbers Framelit Dies.  The cricket image is one I found online, and everything else is from my stash! 🙂
Here are some photos from different angles.

Please come and join in with us at The Male Room and share some of your masculine projects with us.

Happy stamping!

Something Old, Something New

The new challenge from Crafty Boots Challenges is “Something Old, Something New”, which is just in time for the release of not just the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalogue, but also this years Sale-a-Bration, both of which start tomorrow (5th Jan 2016).
So for my project, you get a bit of a sneak peek of some new goodies!

My card uses some of the Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Papers as a background, from the Sale-a-bration catalogue.  Then from the new Occasions catalogue, there is some gorgeous new Baker’s Twine, and the balloons are from the Balloon Celebration stamp set and Balloon Bouquet punch.  That covers the “New” side.
And for the “Old” I have used the Hello You Thinlits dies, and Crazy About You stamp set for the sentiment.
I am loving this colour combination too, the pretty Blushing Bride pink combines beautifully with the Mint Macaron, but looks fantastic with the pop of bright colour of the Rich Razzleberry.  Yum scrum!!
Tomorrow I will pop up links to the new catalogues, and some more inspiration.
And why not join in with this challenge at Crafty Boots.

Happy stamping!

Snow and Sparkle Challenge

A very quick reminder to join us at Crafty Boots Challenges for the Snow and Sparkle challenge.

I made this card for my son for Christmas.
Here is the inside of the card:

Hoping each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas.  Ours was quiet, just the three of us and our fur babies at home, and playing with new toys!! 🙂
I’ll be back in the New Year for our next challenge.  In the meantime.
Happy Stamping!

Christmas Tags

At Crafty Boots Challenges, we need to add some sparkle or snow to our projects for the next fortnight’s challenge.  I have to admit that I am not feeling all that sparkly at the moment, and since we don’t have snow at Christmas in Australia, I tend to stay away from snow scenes on my Christmas cards.  Having said that, I just couldn’t resist the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies, they are just too cute!!

So I made a couple of Christmas tags using them with some glittery cardstock to add just a little sparkle 🙂 and the stamped image at the top is from the Cozy Christmas stamp set.

Happy stamping!

A Crafty Boots Christmas

Our current challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is, of course, Christmas!
That leaves it wide open for you, you must have heaps of Crafty Christmas stuff you have done by now 🙂

My card features the cute Santa, which has been fussy cut out of a piece of the Home For Christmas Designer Series Papers.  And the lovely sentiment is from the Cozy Christmas stamp set, which I have coloured using markers.
Make sure you share your Christmas craft projects with us at Crafty Boots Challenges.
Happy Stamping!

The Male Room wishes you a Merry Christmas

Today we have a Christmas challenge at The Male Room, and a special message to wish all of you a Merry Christmas.

I have two cards that I made up for this challenge, both using some of the music print from the Home for Christmas Designer Series Papers, along with some of those gorgeous baubles from the Delicate Ornament Thinlits dies.  I love this combination for masculine cards, the gold and black together are quite striking.
I do hope you will share you Christmas projects with us at The Male Room, and look forward to a whole new year of challenges in 2016.
Merry Christmas,
Chris

Masculine Thanks

This fortnight at The Male Room, we are celebrating Thanksgiving with a Thank you or Thanksgiving masculine project.

Thanksgiving is another of those celebrations that doesn’t happen here in Australia, although personally I would like to see it being celebrated more, I think it is a wonderful tradition.
I have made a thank you card for my project.

It uses The Wilderness Awaits and Endless Thanks stamp sets, fast becoming firm favourites, and backed the image with some unfortunately, retired, Stampin’ Up! patterned papers.  The image has been roughly coloured using inks and blender pens, and I say roughly as I was trying to make it look, well… rough. 🙂  Textured.
Hoping to see all your wonderful masculine projects at The Male Room again this fortnight.
Happy stamping!

Remembrance Day at The Male Room

Today, all over the world, Remembrance Day is celebrated, although here in Australia we tend to focus more on Anzac Day than today.  There are special parades and remembrance services going on today though, and it is still a day for contemplating and remembering.
At The Male Room, we are asking you to create a project using the Remembrance Day theme, or Sympathy.

I have made a Sympathy card for my project, using a technique that I really like for this type of card.

The technique I have used for the background is the direct ink technique, in this case, the ink is put directly onto a clear mount block (without a stamp on it) and then directly onto the card stock.  I have swiped some different coloured inks across my block, and before pressing the inked block onto my cardstock, I have stuck a circle of punched out Post It note down, to create the white circle “moon”.  I think the subtlety of this background is perfect for Sympathy cards.
Over the background ink, I have then stamped some images from the Wetlands, and The Wilderness Awaits stamp sets.
I hope you will join in with us at The Male Room again this fortnight.
Happy Stamping!

Birthdays at Pattie’s Creations

This month’s challenge theme at Patty’s Creations is Birthdays.
I have chosen to use the Roses in Milk Bottle image for my card.

I have again coloured it using Copic Markers, and combined it with some stamped images from the Stampin’ Up! Cottage Greetings stamp set.
Come on over and check out the rest of the Design Team’s birthday cards here.
Happy stamping!
