My card today uses a combination of different elements which worked so well together to make a Christmas card to send off to family interstate. As a musician, the Merry Melody Embossing Folder is, of course, one that I had to have, and will keep forever! Thank goodness it is on the carry over list, so will still be available for a while yet. It’s gorgeous as a background for all sorts of cards but of course works beautifully for Christmas cards.
The Ever Eden Designer Series Paper was cut out using the Scalloped Contours Dies.
The Ever Eden DSP, and also the Intricate Leaves Dies are on the Last Chance List, so won’t be available after the 3rd of January 2022, make sure you get in now if you would like them, if they sell out before that date they won’t be available again. You may think I am a little obsessed with the Friendly Hello stamp set. You would be correct! It is so gorgeous and lovely to work with. It’s so pretty, with those gorgeous flower images and pretty colours in the matching Designer Series Paper. However, I wanted to show that it can be used for more neutral or even masculine cards, so used it during my Masculine Monday Facebook Live this morning. This is the original design that I put together before I went Live…..
And I decided to use the same elements but change the layout…. there’s nothing like improvising during a Facebook Live, it keeps it interesting!!
For the second card, I fussy cut the bird after stamping it, to remove the flowers and make it more masculine.

I made this card on my weekly Wed morning Facebook Live, featuring the Blossoms in Bloom Bundle. I seem to be having one of those weeks where things just don’t quite turn out how I had imagined they would or even how my practice one did. Ah well, I have to start embracing the imperfect. Except in this case, I managed to get glue on the back of the card during the live, so I have trimmed the original cardbase, and attached that to another cardbase in the same gorgeous Fresh Freesia colour (so pretty!!).
The flowers have been inked with Fresh Freesia and Blushing Bride using sponge daubers to keep the colours soft and subtle. I have then stamped the centres using some Pale Papaya ink. I’m still not happy with it, but yes, embracing the imperfect!! I do love a challenge, especially a papercrafting challenge. So my card today uses the colours from the Global Design Project’s current colour challenge.
Definitely Christmassy colours, however I have been making heaps of Christmas cards, so decided not to make a Christmas card with these colours! I have stamped the flowers with black Stazon ink and then coloured them with a Blender Pen and Cherry Cobbler ink, then fussy cut them and popped them onto the card with a glue dot to give them a little bit of height.
The background is swish of watercolouring using a Water Painter, lots of water and some Mint Macaron ink. It’s interesting that it looks a very different colour in the photo to the Mint Macaron cardstock of the butterfly.

This gorgeous stamp set was at the top of my wish list of Christmas stamp sets when the current mini catalogue came out. I will admit it hasn’t had enough use yet, so hopefully after this crazy busy weekend, I will be able to make some Christmas cards and other items for family and friends. I did a Livestream on my Facebook page this morning, featuring the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper, to make quick, easy and gorgeous Christmas cards, and to show that you really don’t need to spend a lot of money in order to get going and make some homemade Christmas cards.
These first three cards use exactly the same layout, with different patterns from the same pack of DSP.
