Stampin’ Up! Flowing Flowers Single Layer Card

Hi again, and welcome back!
You may remember a few days ago I shared this post with a single layer card featuring the retiring Gorgeous Leaves stamp set, and I thought it would be interesting to make the exact same card using a completely different stamp set and different colours.

This time the card is a thick Very Vanilla cardbase and I have used the Flowing Flowers stamp set, with a few splodges from the Quiet Meadow stamp set (although you could use the splodges on the other flower image from the Flowing Flowers set for this).
The colours are Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo.
This is such a gorgeous stamp set, I love the different flower images and the beautiful script on the sentiments. My brain is overloaded with ideas!!
That’s enough from me for today, I am spending the rest of my day working on some tutorial and online class ideas, so stay tuned for those.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks – Purple Butterfly Card

These Masks make it so easy to create gorgeous cards and are a lot of fun to use as well.

I made this card during my Wednesday morning Facebook Live this week, using the Stamparatus to anchor the cardstock and mask in place while I was sponging the colour onto the background.
The Butterfly is sponged and then fussy cut.
You can see how I made this card Live here. I also mentioned during my Live that I will no longer be doing two Lives per week on Facebook, but will only be doing the Wed morning one. So make sure you Like my Facebook page, I love to have some more interaction there
.
Do you have a favourite item from the new Mini Catalogue? Pretty difficult to choose just one, but these Masks are up there amongst my favourites.

Happy stamping,
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Flowing Flowers – Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights

My card for today is one that I have made to take part in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights for January 2022. Make sure you check out Kylie’s blog to see all the inspiration from talented stampers from around the world who are also taking part.
And while you are there, I hope you will vote for my card.
You can vote for your top 5 cards.

I’ve gone with a very pretty, feminine card today, featuring the new Flowing Flowers stamp set on page 36 of the new January to June 2022 Mini Catalogue, and have paired this with the new Abstract Beauty Designer Series Paper on page 49.
While a lot of this DSP is quite contemporary, I wanted to show some of the pretty pastel colours that can be used on less contemporary projects.
The flower was coloured using Stampin’ Write Markers, and I used the Stamparatus so that I could re-ink and re-stamp until I was happy with the colour intensity.

These gorgeous products are available now in my online store.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Holly-Days Birthday Card

I have used the Stampin’ Up! Happy Holly-Days stamp set to make a masculine birthday card today, and since today is the first day of 2022, and I am sorting through my stamp sets and taking out the ones that are retiring, I thought I would give my favourites one last inking. Then I realised that I really liked all of the sets that I chose to buy from the retiring catalogue, in fact I will be quite sad to see them go.

I have coloured the bird with the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils, and while he looks grey in the photos, there is quite a lot of brown in there in real life, so he matches the background a lot better. After colouring the bird, I fussy cut so that I could mount it directly onto the Cork.
Not only have I used my favourite image from this catalogue but also some of my favourite DSP, the Blackberry Beauty Designer Series Paper and also the Cork Specialty Paper.
I have added a little sneak peek at one of the new stamp sets that I am already having some fun with.
Did you recognise the layout? Page 67 of the retiring Mini Catalogue at the bottom right, featuring this same stamp set as a Christmas card.
Well, here’s to 2022. Out with the old and in with the new!! I hope you are ready for it, I know I am.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Let’s Set Sail

Stampin’ Up! Let’s Set Sail stamp set is another new set from the upcoming Mini Catalogue (available 4th January 2022), and I have used it for a very simple single layer card, inspired by the latest TGIF challenge, using the Masking Technique.

Masking is such a great technique and one that I haven’t used in a while. For my card I have used the reverse masking technique to create the sun.

I have cut out a circle using one of the Tasteful Label dies, out of a piece of scrap paper.

I’ve then placed the piece of scrap paper over my Basic White card base in the position I want the sun to be, then sponged using Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight inks.

Then I have just removed the scrap paper mask, and stamped the images where I wanted them.

I’m not too happy with my splodgy ink on the sails of the boat, but not to worry, I guess they are wet from sailing!!
Happy stamping!

Handmade Notebooks

I made these Notebooks from scratch as gifts for my wonderful customers who have supported me throughout the year.
Each book has Designer Series Paper on the outside and inside of the cover, with stamped pages which can be replaced when the old ones have all been used up.

The papers on the notebook above is the Hand Penned Designer Series Paper, and the one below uses the Host Rewards DSP called Pattern Party.

Both of these Notebooks feature the Friendly Hello stamp set (available 4th January through my online store as a free Sale-a-Bration reward for orders of $180 or more) and the Scalloped Contours Dies.
I hope your Christmas was extra special and that you are having some time to relax and recover today.
Happy stamping!

One Layout, Four Different Cards

This is the last of the cards using this layout, I promise! It can be really interesting though, to use a layout and try out different things with it. So I will share here each of the cards that I have made in this design, but first my card for today, which is in the Vintage style, and uses the absolutely gorgeous Flowing Flowers (available 4th January 2022).

Such a beautiful image! The edges of the front layer have been distressed and sponged with Crumb Cake, and stamped with the smaller flower image, and the large pink flower stamped in Polished Pink.
Here is the inside of the card and the envelope.

And to show you the different variations on this layout, here are the two contemporary cards and the masculine card, from some of my earlier posts.

Happy stamping!

Cheeky Kitty in a Box

This image reminds me so much of the cheekiness that goes on in our house on a very regular basis, that I just had to use it on a card. So very cute!

The card uses some of the Whimsy and Wonder Designer Series Paper in the background – it looks gorgeous and full of rainbows in the photo, and it didn’t matter which angle I too the photo, there were rainbows! In reality it is a beautiful silver. And cheeky kitty comes from the Sweet Stockings Designer Series Paper, which I have fussy cut. Both of these gorgeous Designer Series Papers will no longer be available once sold out.
I hope you are getting some crafting time into your week.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Ever Eden Merry Melody Christmas Card

My card today uses a combination of different elements which worked so well together to make a Christmas card to send off to family interstate.
As a musician, the Merry Melody Embossing Folder is, of course, one that I had to have, and will keep forever! Thank goodness it is on the carry over list, so will still be available for a while yet.
It’s gorgeous as a background for all sorts of cards but of course works beautifully for Christmas cards.

The Ever Eden Designer Series Paper was cut out using the Scalloped Contours Dies.

The Ever Eden DSP, and also the Intricate Leaves Dies are on the Last Chance List, so won’t be available after the 3rd of January 2022, make sure you get in now if you would like them, if they sell out before that date they won’t be available again. You can place orders through my online store 24/7 and they will be shipped straight to you.

Happy stamping!
Chris
