April is a good month to join Stampin’ Up!

Well… any month is a good month to join really. But April is extra good!

Why?

Because if you join in April you can choose some of the brand new pre-order products that are in the new Annual catalogue but not available to customers until May.

That means you know that for a minimum of the next 12 months, those products are going to be current products, making it easier to organise classes or demonstrations if you are inclined to do them.

Of course, being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator doesn’t mean you have to run classes. You can just enjoy the benefits and amazing, supportive community.

So if you live anywhere in Australia and feel you would like to join my team, you can do so by clicking this link:

Or reach out to me by email to chat about what Stampin’ Up! can offer you, dotdotstamping@gmail.com

I look forward to chatting with you,

Delightfully Eclectic Covered Notebooks

It’s been a very busy few days in our house with two different markets in different towns, along with all the preparation and travel that goes along with that, it makes for quite an exhausting few days.
We began doing market stalls as a way to sell my son’s beautiful woodturned items, and since I had to be there (as designated driver, since he hasn’t got his driver’s licence yet), and like to be there to support him, I thought I would try selling some of my own items.
And these covered notebooks have been the most popular items.

These notebooks have been covered with the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper, the large flowers fussy cut from it using my trusy Paper Snips, and that has been paired with some retired Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper.
They are a great way to use up retired DSP as well as bits and pieces of all sorts of things, and they make lovely and useful gifts – great for customer gifts, there’s plenty of room for a long Wish List!

I hope you are having a lovely relaxing weekend, and getting some crafting time.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper is on sale right now, and you can find it in my online store here.
You can browse the rest of the store here.
And don’t forget the fantastic special available if you would like to join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator.

Masterfully Made Simple

A simple card can have just as much impact as one that we have spent hours creating, and can give the receiver just as much joy.

This particular card took me quite literally five minutes to make from scratch.

Admittedly, Stampin’ Up! does make this very easy. My card features a strip of the beautiful Masterfully Made Designer Series, mounted it onto a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, and then onto a Basic White cardbase. So simple.

This is one of the Designer Series Papers that you can get at 15% off in June, so make the most of that.

Hope you are having a crafty day,

Chris

Colour Creations Stampin’ Up! Copper Clay

This week’s Art With Heart Team blog hop features the new In Color, Copper Clay, another versatile colour, which I have combined with several of the other new In Colors for my project today.

I have made a standard Z Fold Card, with some Copper Clay cardstock as my large piece at the back, and Basic White cardstock for the front Z. And I have featured the adorable Happy Hedgehogs stamp set for my card today.

For those of us who a financially challenged in the current climate, along with a colour reset plus a new catalogue, brings the question of how to make the most of the new colours without breaking the bank, and I have chosen to buy the pack of Stampin’ Write markers, and use these to colour the images.

The trees have been coloured with Copper Clay for the trunk and branches, Old Olive for the leaves, Moody Mauve for the flowers and Wild Wheat for the buds. And the bird is coloured with Pebbled Path.

I hope my card today makes you smile, I just love these gorgeous little hedgehogs, with their friends.

And for some more inspiration, it’s time to hop along to see what Tina Gillespie has made using Copper Clay.

If at any time you find a broken link, please head to the blog of this week’s host of the AWH Colour Creations Blog Hop Cathy Proctor, who will have a list of all the participants in the Blog Hop.

Happy Stamping, and Happy Hopping!
Chris

The Male Room Animals Challenge

For the month of March at The Male Room Craft Challenges, the focus is on projects featuring Animals.
The Stampin’ Up! Wildlife Wonder stamp set fits the bill perfectly!
And I have gone a little different with my card, and used the Book Fold design, which is quite easy but a little different to a standard card.

The Wolf is stamped directly onto some of the New Horizons Designer Series Paper, along with some very soft and subtle images of the flower spikes. The strip of wood-look paper on the left is from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.
If you have been following along with my projects recently, you will know that I have started stamping the reverse side of the card:

And decorated the inside of the card with some strips of the same Designer Series Papers but left quite a lot of room for writing a message to the recipient.

I have left my card without a sentiment. For some reason I am feeling the need to create blank cards, cards that can be sent without a specific reason or sentiment attached, but more as a way of staying in touch.

Happy stamping
Chris.

Stampin’ Up! Crane of Fortune

Hello again and welcome back.
The Stampin’ Up! Crane of Fortune stamp set is the set I have used for my card today, in particular the pretty flower image.
I stamped the flower with Fresh Freesia ink, and then to add some vibrancy and intensity to the colour of the centre of the flower, I have added some Rich Razzleberry ink using a Blending Brush, just gently and with a very small amount of ink, but it makes that colour pop out just a little more.

In the background I have used a layer of the Sale-a-Bration Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper, and one of the Heart and Home Doilies.
The sentiment is from another Sale-a-Bration item, the Special Moments stamp set.
My card was inspired by this week’s Just Add Ink sketch challenge.

Happy stamping!
Chris

New Horizons

Stampin’ Up! New Horizons is the most beautiful and amazing Designer Series Paper, and when it finally arrived here in Australia I popped an order through for it as soon as I could. And I am certainly not disappointed.
I made a very quick and easy card earlier today, and decided to just let the paper speak for itself, it really doesn’t need anything else. I haven’t even added a sentiment, although of course it would still look great with any sentiment you choose.

On the topic of new horizons, I have been offered a position in a local retail outlet, selling some of my other craft items, which is an exciting prospect for me, since I don’t only love paper crafting, but also sewing and crochet. Paper craft were the one thing they have plenty of, so I had to be satisfied with selling other items, such as my crocheted cuffs and button bracelets and octopus, and hand sewn and hand embroidered cuddly bunny. There is plenty more that they will be selling so I am busy getting everything prepared for the start of next month.

Oh, I almost forgot to remind you, if you are in Australia, Sale-a-Bration has been extended by an extra 2 weeks, so you have until the 16th March to get some of those gorgeous free goodies that weren’t available here in the first two weeks or so.
Happy stamping, and happy crafting!
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Wildlife Wonder Quick Card

Sometimes I just need to make a quick and easy card, that allows me to create without too much thought, or stress or time. And that’s what today’s card is. Quick, simple and easy.

The owl, a sentiment and a few sprays of flowers stamped directly onto the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, which is then mounted straight onto a card base of Merry Merlot Cardstock.
Done!
Now I need to get on with cooking and getting food prepared for the next few days.

Happy stamping!
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Sweet Talk

A very quick post this evening to share with you a card I made yesterday using the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper.

I have combined it with stamped images from the Sale-a-Bration set Friendly Hello (available when you place an order of $180 or more) which has been very quickly coloured using Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils.
Hope your week has been wonderful!
Happy stamping
Chris

Calming Camellia Card Set

Yesterday I shared a single card that I made with the gorgeous Calming Camellia Sale-a-Bration Host set in this post, and today I just wanted to show you the entire set of 5 cards I have made using the same technique, and a little more information.
I’ve often wondered why we don’t decorate the back of our cards, after all, it is part of the card and just as visible to the recipient as the front.
I am also of the opinion that we are now, more than ever, going to be needing to send people letters – as in, real “snail mail” hand-written type letters, sharing our news and our lives. We need the connection it creates.
And so this set of cards is all about those two things. There is no stamping or decoration on the inside of the card, leaving the entire space available for writing a letter.
And the back of the card is decorated.
Here is the card base, Crumb Cake cardstock stamped with Crumb Cake ink:

And then the full card with the front decorated:

And the full set of five cards:

The colours I have used in conjunction with Crumb Cake are from left to right:
Blackberry Bliss, Evening Evergreen, Merry Merlot, Soft Suede and Not Quite Navy. The colours in the photo don’t quite do the depth of colour in the cards justice.
My favourites are the Blackberry Bliss and Evening Evergreen. How about you?

So to achieve this look, I have stamped the gorgeous flower image in the one of the colours mentioned above, and then using the White Craft ink and a Blender Pen, coloured the petals of the flower. The white craft ink over the stamped image changes the shade of the original image, making it a lot lighter, and making it look as though there is a lot more colouring than just adding white over the top.
I have then added some green to the leaves and some Soft Suede to the stem, also using ink and Blender Pen.

I loved making this set of cards, I may just make a couple of sets to give as gifts to family.
Happy stamping!
Chris
