Masculine Star Card

Continuing on with our current Star theme at Crafty Boots Challenges, this week I have a masculine card to share with you.

I know a lot of people find masculine cards difficult to make, to be honest though, I really enjoy making them, and I know a lot of men enjoy getting lovely handmade cards, just as much as the ladies do 🙂

The background of the card uses some Sahara Sand cardstock which has been run through the Big Shot inside the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder.  I have then sponged some Basic Grey ink over the raised areas.  The stars have been cut out using the Stars Framelits, and the birthday greeting comes from Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.  Just a couple of small finishing touches – some Candy Dots which seem to be getting used a lot at the moment, and some paper piercing around the stars.

I do hope you will pop on over the the Crafty Boots Challenge Blog and check out all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team, and why not make a starry project to share with us?  We would love to see it!

Happy stamping!
Chris

Be The Star

Such a useful, versatile and fun stamp set, Be The Star is my focus stamp set for this month, and therefore the stamp set you will receive if you are taking part in Stamps in Your Letterbox in July.  It’s a great stamp set for cardmaking and scrapbooking, for children of all ages, boys and girls, masculine cards, and definitely Christmas cards.

I have combined Be The Star stamp set with the Stars Framelit dies, the zigzag stamp out of  the Work of Art stamp set, splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, some of the great new black and white Baker’s Twine and some Washi Tape out of the Everyday Adventure Project Life kit, but you could just as easily use one of the other Washi tapes available (page 190 of the catalogue).  The colour combo I have used for this card is Basic Black, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay.

Happy Stamping!
Chris
