Festive Flurry

Today I was fortunate to be able to share my love of stamping and creating with a group of ladies who get together and craft every week.  They requested something for Christmas, so we made some cards and decorated a box using the Festive Flurries stamp set,(Wood #131778, Clear #131781) and matching Framelits Dies (#132193), (Bundle – Wood #133284, Clear #133285)
The first card was this one:

The colours I have chosen are Smokey Slate, Pool Party and Island Indigo.  The Smokey Slate is a lot darker than it looks here, so all we did was to stamp off the ink before stamping it onto the cardstock, which makes it a lovely silvery grey.
Then we added a “belly band” to one of the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes (#130927):

And our third project was another card, this one using the Starburst technique.

Here we also used some of the gorgeous Winter Frost Specialty papers (#132341), which are just so pretty, and a small piece of the Silver Foil Sheets (#132178).
I am usually a traditional girl when it comes to Christmas colours, but this year I am just loving these colours.  Nice to have a change sometimes 🙂
I am also loving these Festive Flurries…. yep, plenty more of those coming your way!
Happy stamping!

Special Season

I haven’t really fallen of the face of the earth, just been rather busy…. a trip to the US in October, a bit of break from crafting and now it’s time to share some of the many creations I have been making over the last couple of weeks.
I absolutely love the Special Season stamp set in the current Seasonal Catalogue, and it has had a work out since it arrived!
Last night I held the first of two Christmas Stamp-a-Stacks, featuring… yes, you guessed it Special Season (Wood #131766, Clear #131769) combined with the traditional colours of the Season of Style DSP (#132340) papers.  Here are the cards that we made:

The sentiment on this first card comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set (Wood #130042, Clear #120024), which is framed with some of the Gold Foil Sheets (#132622).  You can be sure you will be seeing some more of the Gold and Silver foil, its a great way to add a touch of something special!

We had a lovely night, lots of laughs, and lots of stamping… what more can you ask for? 🙂
My next Stamp-a-Stack in on Wed  11th December at  7.30pm, so if you live in the Canberra area and would like to come along, send me an email.
I do have a lot more to share with you, but I think it can wait for another post.
If you would like to order any of the items I have used in these cards, you can do so here, just click on the “Shop Now” button at the bottom of the page.  And please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Soho Subway

This is one of my favourite patterned papers from this year’s Annual Catalogue, it’s great for those masculine projects.
So with Father’s Day fast approaching us here in Australia (1st September), I thought I would offer a class using the Soho Subway DSP, and we will make a card plus a holder for those store Gift Cards, or some other small gift.

Of course, you could use it for a birthday gift or any other special occasion.

You need to contact me to book into the class, which will be held at my place (hopefully with most of the major renovations completed by then!!) on Wed 28th August at 7.30pm, or Saturday 31st August at 2pm.  Please send me an email if you would like to come as places are limited.

Happy Stamping!

August Promotions

This is one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! promotions, I love my patterned papers, they make it so easy to make cards and scrapbook pages look really classy.  So August is a great month to stock up on some of the gorgeous new papers that came out with the new catalogue.

Place your order by sending me an email, or you can place your order online by clicking here.

Treat box and matching card

We used lots of goodies from the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue to create our Treat Boxes and matching cards at my catalogue launch.

The base cardstock is in the colour Soft Sky, isn’t it just so pretty?  We used some of the Gingham Garden papers (Page 153 Annual Catalogue)  to create the large gingham banner, which was layered over one our pretty Paper Doilies(Page 156).
The flower has been made using the Mosaic Madness stamp set, and matching Mosaic Punch, in Crisp Cantaloupe and Old Olive.  The cute little peg to hold the top of the box together is from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit on Page 158.

This Treat Box is really simple, great for gifts, party favours, Christmas…..
Here is a masculine version which I have made from the Natural Composition Specialty papers (Page 150), which I have given a light sponge with Early Espresso ink to give it an aged look.

If you would like to order the products to make these, please click here, or send me an email.

Happy Stamping!

Sent With Love

Just wanted to share a gorgeous little box which I made using the Sent With Love papers.

I just love this bundle…. the papers are bright and cheery, the stamp set is very versatile and of course if you bundle it with the Baker’s Twine you get 20% off, but it’s only available until the 15th June.
I love it so much that I think I will be making some note cards to go in this box, so stay tuned.
And did you know that you can also get them in Digital format through My Digital Studio?  That’s right, in fact this box is actually an MDS template which is also available.
They can all be ordered through my Stampin’ Up! site, or send me an email and let me know what it is you want to order or any questions you might have.

Happy Stamping!

Pillow Gifts

It’s a Stampin’ Up! tradition to make something special for our room mates if we are sharing with other demonstrators at convention or other events, so today I am quickly going to share with you the gifts I made for the lovely ladies who I was lucky enough to share with this year.
Firstly, I made some fridge magnets using the gorgeous Designer Builder Brads.

I just cut off the split pins at the back of the brads using the fabulous Craft and Rubber Scissors – yes, they are strong enough to cut through the metal, and then glued some magnets onto the back.

I added some of the More Amore papers to the front of a journal, and added some chocolates (a must have at convention!).  I liked the idea of a journal, rather than a note book – they can be used as a smash book, design and ideas book, note book…..

Enough from me for today, I have a lot of catching up to do!
Happy stamping!

CASEing… again …..

My card today is inspired by an Australian stamper, who I have long admired and hope one day, to be able to make beautiful cards the way she does… I am talking about the fabulously talented Teneale Williams.  I am not sure that I even get close, even after years of practice 🙂 nevertheless, I just adore her work and was thrilled when she recently visited my blog and left a comment.  Thanks for your kind words Teneale.
Here is Teneale’s card:

And here is my CASE, with a little bit of “me” added! 🙂

The patterned paper is called Tea For Two and is from the current Seasonal Catalogue.  Isn’t it just gorgeous?  Because the paper refers to “Tea” I thought it was only fitting to use the Tea Shoppe stamp set, one which has been a little neglected of late.  The individual tea cups have been punched out using a circle punch and then layered with some dimensionals, over the yellow circles on the paper.  I have also stamped and then fussy cut the flower from the stamp set and popped it in the bottom tea cup.  Add some of my favourite faux stitching around the edge of the So Saffron layer of cardstock, lots of sponging on the edges, a pretty ribbon and bow, and a Vintage Brad, and there is my version.

Happy stamping everyone.
Chris

Pretty in Pink

Oh no, Pretty in Pink is soon to be leaving us!  If you didn’t already know, Stampin’ Up! have done a colour renovation and with the new catalogue in July, will come a new set of gorgeous colour combinations.  One of the colours that will be leaving the collection is Pretty in Pink… it is such a pretty, girly pink, I am going to miss it!

I have used this week’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches as a basis for my card and also used my Sizzlits Pinwheel die which hasn’t seen the light of day until now.  The papers are from the Tea For Two Designer Series Papers pack.  The pinwheel may look a little different to how you are used to see them, but I wanted to use just the pink side of the patterned paper without the pattern on the other side showing so I just reversed it – I think it looks a little more like a windmill than a pinwheel, but never mind 🙂  I also struggled with where to put the sentiment.  I have stamped it onto some vellum for a nice soft look, but it just didn’t quite look right, no matter where I put it. Perhaps I should have left the card sentiment free.
The other challenge that I will enter this card in is SUO Challenges, who are currently running a challenge using anything Sizzix – well, I have plenty of those!

Hope you have a crafty week.  Happy stamping!
Chris

Dynamic Duos #49

More fun again this week from Dynamic Duos, with an unusual colour combination and the option of making a masculine card with Basic Black and Basic Grey.

I enjoyed this challenge, but then I also enjoy making masculine cards!
Nothing too exciting about my card, I have used the Woodgrain Embossing folder for the black background, the Serene Silhouettes stamp set, lots of paper piercing (of course!) and the the patterned paper comes from the Twitterpated DSP.
Lots of gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team can be seen here.
Hope you are having a crafty weekend. Happy Stamping!
