Crafty Boots Stars or Stripes

I have gone with some Stripes on my cards for this week’s Crafty Boots Challenge, but you could choose either Stripes, Stars or even both!

This first card uses some retired Stampin’ Up! patterned papers, and features the cute little Ellie digital image from Tiddly Inks, which I have coloured with Copic markers.

My second card also uses a Tiddly Inks digi, called My Dads Truck.  I have left the image un-coloured this time and mounted it on some wide striped papers from the new Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack.

So why don’t you come on over to Crafty Boots Challenges and show us your stars or stripes!
Happy stamping!

Simply Papercraft

Today is my first challenge with the Simply Papercraft Design Team, a fabulous papercrafting Challenge blog.

I have made a card using a digital image from Rosey Hearts called Spring Witch.

Such a cute image, but I thought she needed a lovely little black cat! 🙂  The kitty image comes from the Stampin’ Up! set called You Little Furball.  And the patterned papers are also retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Papers.  The gorgeous ribbon (which I was given as part of my Mother’s Day present!! Lucky me 🙂  ) is lovely and shimmery and shiny but doesn’t show up well in the photo.

Make sure you pop in and check out what the rest of the Design Team have created, and do share your own creations with us too, at Simply Papercraft.

New In Colours

With the release of the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue only a few days away, I thought I would introduce you to the new In Colours for 2015-2017.

I have made a card using a combination of Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe.

The flower is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, which has been heat embossed with white embossing powder.  The flowers have then had some Mint Macaron ink painted onto the cardstock to give a little depth of colour, using a Blender Pen.
I will be back with some more ideas using some new goodies over the next few weeks.  Contact me if you live locally (Canberra, Cooma area) and would like one of the new catalogues.
Happy stamping!

Sketch Challenge

It’s my turn to host the challenge this week at Crafty Boots Challenges, and for the next two weeks my challenge to you, is to use this sketch to make a project:

There are one or two additional rules for our sketch challenge:
  • you can rotate the sketch and you can re size the elements if you wish.
  • do not move the elements around too much, the original sketch layout should still be recognisable.
  • you can use any materials you like to make anything you like, for example, a card, a box top, a gift bag, a scrapbook page, an ATC, an inchie, etc.  Just as long as the original sketch design is obvious in whatever you make.

I have made two cards this week, the first a Clean and Simple card:

and secondly, a more vintage style card featuring some different patterned papers and some lace:

I thought the teddies in this paper series were just too cute, so had to make them in to a card.  For this card I have turned the sketch side on, and used the teddy pattern on the papers to represent the circles of the sketch.  So you can see, there are heaps of ways you can use this sketch, and we would love to see your projects, at Crafty Boots Challenges.

Something new….

I know, you have all just been hanging out for a bit of a peak at something from the new Stampin’ Up! catalogue which isn’t released until the 2nd of June, and I have been keeping you in suspense……
So I have made a card, just for you, using a brand new stamp set called Sprinkles of Life.

I have made my card using the colours from the latest Just Add Ink Challenge:

I just love this stamp set, it is very versatile, plus it is the Ronald MacDonald House Charity stamp set, so for every one of these sets that is sold, Stampin’ Up! will donate $3 to Ronald MacDonald House Charity.  The stamp set includes 22 different stamps, so I will bring you some more creations using it, along with the matching punch.
I hope you are having a crafty weekend.

BBQ Dragon!

A new challenge at Crafty Girlz Challenges today, with Dr Digi as our sponsor.

Dr Digi
I have chosen to use the image called BBQ Dragon for my project.

I have combined the Dragon image with a Cave image from Make it Crafty, all coloured with Copic Markers, which has then been layered over some retired Stampin’ Up! Halloween papers.  I know it’s the wrong time of year for Halloween, but they just fit in with the cave.
Something a little different from my usual style, but I had fun with it!
Hope you will join us and share your projects at Crafty Girlz Challenges.

Happy stamping!

Cardz 4 Guys Make Your Mark

This week’s challenge at Cardz 4 Guys has been chosen by Julie who would like you to create your project using Man (Woman) made marks only.  Stitching, inks, embossing, any colouring pens/pencils, water colours, stencils.

I made two cards for this week’s challenge:

The first card uses some retired Stampin’ Up! papers for a background, and I have stamped direct onto the papers using the Adventure Awaits and The Open Sea stamp sets.

My second card was a slightly different interpretation of the “Make Your Mark” theme, since I didn’t have any more information about this challenge at the time.

I have used a digital image called Graduation Guy from Kenny K Downloads, which has been coloured with Copic Markers.
Check out what the rest of the Design Team have come up with for this challenge at Cardz 4 Guys Challenges.

Spring Song

Today I am sharing my Design Team card for the May Challenge at Crafting With An Attitude.

I have used a gorgeous Digi from That Craft Place for my card, called Spring Song.  She has been coloured with Copic Markers, and mounted on various papers from my large stash!  The ribbon and flower brad are retired Stampin’ Up! goodies, and the paper flowers again from my stash.
A big thanks to our sponsors for the month of May:

Things With Wings Challenge Reminder

Another quick post this evening, just a reminder to share your projects based on the theme “Things With Wings” at Crafty Boots Challenges.

My card uses some papers from my stash, and I have cut out various parts of the paper, then layered them.  So absolutely no stamping! Just a little bit of cutting and some layers, and that’s it! 🙂  A very quick and easy card featuring some cute little bees! 🙂  Oh yes, I did do some Faux Stitching around the edge, just to finish it off a little, but it would still work without.
So I do hope you will share your cards and projects with us, we love to see what you have been doing.
Happy stamping!

Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge

I can’t believe how quickly this month has gone by, and the last week of April brings me to my final week as Guest Designer with Just Add Ink.  I have loved playing along with this great bunch of lovely ladies, and really enjoyed sharing my ideas with all of you.
This week’s challenge is to use this sketch for your inspiration:

I have used the sketch to make a masculine card, featuring the Moon Lake stamp set and the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack.

The image has been stamped in Early Espresso ink and then some light colouring added using Markers, and the circle layers cut with Framelits.
Thanks again to the ladies from the Just Add Ink team for having me along this month.  Make sure you check out all the inspiration from the Design Team here.
Happy stamping!
