Colour Creations Stampin’ Up! Berry Burst

This week’s featured colour is the gorgeous Berry Burst, and I have had a lot of fun this week, combining Berry Burst with the Host stamp set Night of Flight, to create a number of projects. I shared some of those in my previous post, but here are some more, these two were some of the projects we made at a face to face Card class that I ran this morning.

Behind the stamped panel, there is some Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper which has been embossed with the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder, plus a small strip of Glorious Gingham in Berry Burst.

For both cards I have used a cardbase of Early Espresso, which I liked combined with Berry Burst.

My second card again uses some of the Glorious Gingham DSP, and this time we have used the two step stamping method, and I wanted a pop of a different colour, so have added some Azure Afternoon.
Here is the card open….

Colour Creations Stampin’ Up! Basic Gray

This week’s Colour Creations featured colour is Basic Gray, a colour I often overlook but which is such a versatile colour. And I love it with Fresh Freesia, which I have used for my cards today.

My first card is very simple, with the tree image from Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, stamped in Basic Gray and the butterfly in Fresh Freesia.

I’ve then stepped the card up by colouring the tree with Stampin’ Blends. Yes, you can colour with Stampin’ Blends when the outline image is stamped with a waterbased ink, as long as you don’t blend the outline ink. I don’t use the brush end of the Stampin’ Blends for this, and keep the colouring very simple.

I have used Stampin’ Blends in Fresh Freesia, Daffodil Delight (for the flower centres) and Shaded Spruce. I’ve also added a strip of Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper in Fresh Freesia behind the main panel, and added some silver dots for some bling.

My second card also features the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, this time the cute little birdie.

The card base is Basic Gray again for this card, and for the background, I have used one of the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks and a Blending Brush and Basic Gray ink, very lightly brushed on to create a subtle background.
The bird is stamped in Basic Gray and coloured in the same way as the second card. The circles were Die cut using the unfortunately retired Stitched Shapes Dies.

We made these cards today in my monthly Card Class, which was a lot of fun.

Next along in our Blog Hop is the talented Tina Gillespie.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs Online Class

Here are the three cute cards I made during this morning’s Facebook Live Online Class on my business page. I kept the cards fairly simple and the video isn’t too long. I get frustrated with watching long vids, so I’ll be keeping mine as short as possible.
If you missed it, the live video is here.

The precut and organised card kits are available free to anyone who places an order of $45 or more (shipping extra) on this link before midnight on Sunday 16th July 2023 (Australian orders only). Stampin’ Up! policy does not allow me to add any stamped images, but as you can see, these would work with almost any stamp set you have in your stash. And since everything is cut and ready to go, all you have to do is stamp and put your cards together.

Along with the items listed below, I have used Pecan Pie and Night of Navy ink, however I think you could use almost any colour to stamp your images.
I hope you enjoy the creativity of making cards without having to do all the cutting and measuring.

Please contact me if there is anything you would like more information about, and please make sure you using the Host Code YGQHMWSB when you place your order. Also don’t forget the Earn and Redeem promotion, with details below.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs Panelled Card

My card today is one of three that I will be making during tomorrow’s Facebook Live, which is happening on my Facebook Business page at 11am AEST (Sydney, Australia time).
I will be making this card and two other’s featuring the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, which is my featured stamp set for this week.
This is the first of an ongoing series of online events which I plan to do every week at the same time, each week featuring a different stamp set. And because it’s the first time I am running it this way, I am feeling a little anxious and nervous.
You will also have the opportunity to get the card kits to make these three cards, along with three more of the same (so 6 cards in all) as a free gift when you spend $45 or more using this link to my online store.
The six card kits will be sent out to you by early next week, and all the kits are precut and organised so that all you have to do is the fun part!
You can always come back and watch the Facebook live again once you have received your kits, to see how I made the cards.
If you don’t have this stamp set, you can use what you already have, or use the link above purchase it.
I will also post up the three cards late tomorrow with a list of the items I have used to make them.

I do hope you will join me live tomorrow morning.
Happy Stamping,
Chris

Colour Creations Stampin’ Up! Balmy Blue

This week’s Colour Creations Blog Hop is featuring the core colour, Balmy Blue.

I have pulled out a stamp set that I haven’t used for quite some time for today’s blog hop, Perched in a Tree, and have combined the Balmy Blue with Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake.

Sweet little bird has been watercoloured with Pecan Pie and Balmy Blue inks with a Water Painter. The combination of the two colours, when they blend and move together have created some interesting and pretty colours, with a purple tinge in some places. Just one of the reasons I love watercolouring!
For the trees in the background, I have die cut the trees twice, once in Pecan Pie cardstock and then again in Crumb Cake cardstock, and then layered them slightly offset so that it looks like there are trees peeking out from behind the ones in front.
The layer of white cardstock has also been sponged lightly with some Balmy Blue ink, although it’s not so obvious in the photo.
Next along on the blog hop is the talented Kate Morgan.

Big Group Hug
CAN YOU HELP US MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR VULNERABLE FAMILIES?

On of the very cool things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is being with a company that encourages us to make a difference in peoples lives when we can. We are doing just that in the lead up to and at our joint ’35 Years’ with Claire Daly’s Art with Heart Stampin’ Up! Team (that’s our team) and Claire’s friend Michelle Grech’s thINK Out Loud team event on July 15th. We are excited that this event is also being attended by Sara Douglass, our Stampin’ Up! CEO as a guest.

I know I sure wish I could get there, but it’s a long way from where I live and times are tough. However…

We will be supporting Big Group Hug with a donation drive at the event, and a fundraising drive during July. Big Group Hug is a Melbourne charity serving local communities to tackle child poverty. This year they will help 6,000 vulnerable children who are living in crisis by distributing essential items in times of need. They are committed to supporting every young family who asks for help while ensuring that the child remains the focus of everything they do.

Do you remember the feeling of a hug when you were a child? The warmth. The safety. The spontaneous smile that surfaced mid-hug? There’s nothing better. That’s the feeling that drives Big Group Hug. They want every child who lives in poverty to feel the warmth of our collective hug.

We welcome donations to our fundraising page from customers and demonstrators. These can be provided straight to the organisation via our unique online donations page (so you will receive a tax receipt straight away).

I know times are tough for everyone, but even the cost of a cup of coffee would be welcome and help us build our total for essential items for these families.

You can find our donation link HERE: https://bit.ly/BigGroupHugDonations

It’s likely that most of you are unaware that my son and I have been living in poverty for the past seven and a half years, after going through domestic violence. We stayed in our home, which meant we often didn’t quality for this sort of help. But nevertheless, I ask that you help support those who need it most by donating just a few dollars. Do it on my behalf because I can’t. Things seem to be getting more difficult by the week. Personally we are just grateful to have a roof over our head, and I’m sure that those receiving your help will be grateful, too.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy stamping, and happy hopping,
Chris

Stampin’ Up! Wild and Sweet for Crafty Addicts

This month for the Crafty Addicts Design Team, I have again used the gorgeous Koala image from the Wild and Sweet stamp set. I just love it, it’s soooo cute! But I promise to start sharing some cards using the rest of images from the set soon.

The background on my card is a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock which has been embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.
The koala has been stamped with some Early Espresso Ink, and very gently coloured with Blender pens in Mossy Meadow, Pecan Pie, Early Espresso and some white Craft ink.

I did make a youTube video of creating this card, the lighting is not great but hopefully you can get an idea of how I have made it. And I’ve been working on fixing the lighting situation, I’m going to try that out shortly.

Make sure you check out what the rest of the Crafty Addicts Design Team have made this month, and please feel free to share your creations with us, we love to see what you have been making.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Colour Creations Stampin’Up! Pecan Pie

We are creating projects using the gorgeous neutral Pecan Pie for this week’s blog hop, and I have chosen the sweet koala image for the Wild and Sweet stamp set for my projects.
The first card I am sharing is a very simple one, great for those just starting out in cardmaking and stamping.

I have used a card base of Pecan Pie, with a strip of gingham in the same colour from the Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper. The white panel is die cut using the Deckled Rectangle Dies, and the koala stamped in Pecan Pie ink. I’ve added a couple of gold adhesive backed dots from the Festive Pearls for a finishing touch.

My second card uses the same elements, and Pecan Pie cardstock base, this time with a strip of the gingham down the right hand side. I’ve used some of the Fluid 100 Watercolour paper with a water brush, and added some Balmy blue and Mossy Meadow ink across the paper. Then once it dried, I have again stamped the koala in Pecan Pie ink, and added some Linen Thread. The focal panel and the gingham layer have all been sponged with Blending Brushes around the edges with Pecan Pie ink.

If you would like to watch the video of how to make the second card you can find it on my youTube channel. You can get a better idea of the colours in the video.
I will also be uploading it to my new facebook group. It is a very new group and I would love to have more of you join us at The Dotty Stampers.

Colour Creations Stampin’Up! Lemon Lolly

This week’s Colour Creations is all about Lemon Lolly.
I have used two Designer Series Paper sets for my card, Zoo Crew DSP and Bright and Beautiful DSP.

I have used a strip of Lemon Lolly coloured stars from the Bright and Beautiful DSP along the left side of my card, and have used a black marker to outline some of the stars. On the right side of my card, I have used the black and white stars from the Zoo Crew DSP, and have coloured the centre of the stars with Lemon Lolly ink and a Blender Pen.

The cute main image is a piece of the Zoo Crew DSP, which I have cut to size, then mounted onto a piece of Lemon Lolly cardstock.

Next along on our blog hop is Amie McIlroy.

Delightfully Eclectic Covered Notebooks

It’s been a very busy few days in our house with two different markets in different towns, along with all the preparation and travel that goes along with that, it makes for quite an exhausting few days.
We began doing market stalls as a way to sell my son’s beautiful woodturned items, and since I had to be there (as designated driver, since he hasn’t got his driver’s licence yet), and like to be there to support him, I thought I would try selling some of my own items.
And these covered notebooks have been the most popular items.

These notebooks have been covered with the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper, the large flowers fussy cut from it using my trusy Paper Snips, and that has been paired with some retired Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper.
They are a great way to use up retired DSP as well as bits and pieces of all sorts of things, and they make lovely and useful gifts – great for customer gifts, there’s plenty of room for a long Wish List!

I hope you are having a lovely relaxing weekend, and getting some crafting time.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper is on sale right now, and you can find it in my online store here.
You can browse the rest of the store here.
And don’t forget the fantastic special available if you would like to join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator.
