Vintage Hugs

Hugs From Shelli Vintage 2
I just had to do it!
I had to make a Vintage style card out of the gorgeous Hugs From Shelli Paper Pumpkin kit, I just couldn’t help myself.
The different elements in the kit do lend themselves to a vintagey feel.
Hugs From Shelli Vintage 3
I have used the retiring (sadly) Sheet Music background stamp to add some music images onto the background of the lighter coloured parts.  To do this, I didn’t mount the stamp onto a block, but just splodged some ink (that’s a technical term, by the way) onto part of the stamp and then rolled it, kind of randomly, onto the cardstock.

The edges have been distressed and then sponged with Early Espresso ink.
And I have coloured the main birds nest image.  The nest and leaves were coloured with Stampin’ Blends (Alcohol Ink Markers) in Old Olive and Crumb Cake, the eggs were coloured using Blender Pen and ink pad in Balmy Blue, and the tiny flower dots were coloured using a Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Write Marker.

Hugs From Shelli Vintage 1

I’ve added some of the new, soon to be released Scalloped Lace Trim, some of the gorgeous Velvet ribbon that was in the kit, and some pearls, and then fussy cut one of the stamped bird images from the kit, which has also been coloured with Crumb Cake.
I enjoyed make the card so much that I decided to make a bookmark to match it.

Hugs From Shelli Vintage 4
These ones have been sent off to someone who I know will appreciate them, but I really loved them, so decided to make myself a book mark, too.
After all, I need heaps of bookmarks to go inside the new catalogue!!!!
Hugs From Shelli Vintage 5
Instead of using the gorgeous Pretty Peacock for this one (as I did above), I have used Rococo Rose, both of these are new In Colours, and I can’t wait to use more of these colours.  So gorgeous!
Hugs From Shelli Vintage 6

I may attempt to use something other than the Hugs From Shelli kit soon, maybe…….

It’s so gorgeous, and I am making the most of it for this month, so only a couple more days to go 🙂
Happy stamping!

The Blues

It’s been a pretty traumatic and full on few days for my little family.
On the Thursday before Easter, my son injured his finger quite badly, while using a bench grinder in his workshop.
Needless to say, most of our Easter has been spent either in one hospital or another or travelling interstate so that he could have surgery on it.
But we are home and he is doing really well.
And I really needed some time to wind down, so……
I did some stamping, of course!
Monochromatic Butteflies

I made my card using a monochromatic colour scheme for the current Global Design Project challenge.
The photo isn’t great because it is a very cloudy day here, but the base card is Night of Navy and I have used the gorgeous Balmy Blue for everything else.  The white layer also features the Subtle Embossing Folder, although it’s a little hard to see it in the photo.
And of course those gorgeous butterflies from Butterfly Gala, along with the coordinating punch, which I am very happy to say, is carrying over to the next Annual Catalogue.
The butterflies have been coloured using Balmy Blue ink and Blender Pens.

Hope you are having a crafty Easter.
Happy Stamping!

This month at Pattie’s Creations challenge, we are doing an Autumn (or Fall) or Halloween challenge.
I have chosen the Autumn Wreath image to use for my card for this challenge.

Here is my card:

I have used some lovely retired paper for the background, I love the look of the wood planks.
The image has been coloured using Copic Markers and then fussy cut – yep, with scissors!
I hope you will join us with your own Autumn project this month at Pattie’s Creations Challenge.

My second card uses the gorgeous Denise image from Jiggery Makery.

Denise has been coloured with Copic Markers, fussy cut and then layered over some patterned papers.
Make sure you join in our challenge, we love to see your papercraft projects.

This month at Crafty Girlz Challenges our sponsor is Stitchy Bears:

I have used the A Bird Among The Branches image for my card.

This is such a beautiful image, that I wanted it to be the feature of my card, so I have kept the card very simple.  The image had been coloured with Copic Markers.

Sarah Jane has been coloured with Copic Markers.  The background papers are all retired Stampin’ Up! papers, and everything else are bits and pieces from my stash.

Dragonfly Dreams Challenge

A new challenge for you to join in with today, called Dragonfly Dreams Challenges.
Our sponsor for the month of June is Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.

I have used some new patterned papers in the background of my card, from the new Stampin’ Up! paper pack called Cherry On Top.  I  love the bright and cheery colours.

The image of the bear was pre-coloured, however I wanted a little more depth of colour and to make it look like he had fur, so I have coloured it with Copic Markers using a curly flick.  I just adore his gorgeous face! 🙂
A big thank you to Laurian and the rest of the team for inviting me to join the Dragonfly Dreams team.

Make sure you join us with your own projects.

Happy stamping!

Things With Wings Challenge

Things With Wings” is the theme for this fortnight’s challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, now that gives you heaps to play with!  Apart from the obvious: birds or butterflies, how about dragonflies, fairies, flies, wasps, or even planes.
I chose this gorgeous Daisy Elf image from Aurora Wings for my card for this week.  (Lots of winged fantasy options at Aurora Wings that you could choose from for your project!)

She has been coloured using Copic Markers, and the paper and ribbon are from my stash.
How about damselflies, bees, bats, moths, mosquitoes or dragons!!  Or use your imagination and come up with something really unusual 🙂
Most of all, have fun, and make sure you share you creation with us this week at Crafty Boots Challenges.

Happy stamping!

Crafting With An Attitude!!

Today is my very first as part of the Design Team at Crafting With An Attitude Challenges.  Don’t you just love that name? 🙂
Our sponsor for this month’s challenge is Sassy Studios Designs:

And here is my card, using the Masquerade Ball Sassy image.

MasqueradeBallSassy

I have coloured my Sassy lady using Copic Markers, before fussy cutting the image out with some paper snips.  The background image is the Grand Stairway from Make It Crafty, which has been very lightly coloured before Sassy lady was layered over the top using some dimensional tape.
Why not join us in April at Crafting With An Attitude, for your chance to win some gorgeous Sassy Studio Design images.
Happy stamping!
