Orchard Harvest

Spring is here 🙂 but I am such a sucker for Autumn Colours!  I loved the Orchard Harvest Suite as soon as I saw it in the Holiday Catalogue.
This card is based on the current sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.
I have used the Orchard Harvest DSP (patterned papers) and the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set and matching Framelits Dies.
The “vases” are the corn framelit, which I have cut the top off to change the shape.  I have then run them through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, and tied some Linen Thread around them.  The gorgeous little flowers have been stamped in Raspberry Ripple and More Mustard and also cut out using the die from the set.

Here is the sketch.  I like this one, think I might have to use it for another card!
Happy Stamping!  And happy Labor Day for all of you in the US.

Resist Challenge

I haven’t used a resist technique for a while, so it was good to get into a different technique this week.
This week’s Our Creative Corner Challenge is to use some form of resist technique, whether that is Heat Emboss Resist, which I have used here, or crayon resist, and there are a number of others as well, and they are all fun to do.  The only other thing required on your creation is a pair of wings – animal, bug, butterfly, angel….  🙂
I have used some Glossy White card stock and embossed the large flower type design from the new stamp set Betsy’s Blossom, which is available…. now….. today 🙂 … with white embossing powder.  I have then used inks and daubers to sponge on the colour in the background – the colours are Wisteria Wonder, Pretty in Pink and a new In Colour called Primrose Petals.
Feel free to send me an email if you would like more information about this card.
And have a go at something different, it doesn’t have to be complicated, but do check out the amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.
Happy Stamping!
Chris

Triple Time Card

There have been heaps of these cards popping up in the crafting world of late, and I just had to have a go!  They are really easy to make and so very effective.

This one is made with some colours that I don’t use very often, but thought it was time for something different, something a bit summery, especially since it is such a lovely day here today in Adelaide.  22 degrees, sunny and gorgeous!  Time for a walk on the beach. 🙂
I have used the colour combination of Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Real Red, along with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.

Pretty sure I will be making some more of these cards.

Happy stamping!

OCC Sparkly Stuff Challenge!

“Sparkly Stuff” – you know, rhinestones, glitter… 🙂

This week’s challenge comes from Paula McClane at Scrap Addict’s Attic.

So this is Paula here, one of the newbies to the Design Team, I’m so excited to be on the team!  Let’s get to it then, my first challenge! I am not a girly girl, I’m mostly found wearing a tee shirt and capris or jeans.  But sometimes you just gotta whip out the shiny sparkly stuff & make it dazzle! Use rhinestones, stickles, glitter, etc along with items found in nature (plants, animals, etc)!  A bit of bling mixed with nature..”

Well, who doesn’t like a bit of bling?
This card was inspired by one I saw… well, somewhere!  There are so many ways to get inspiration these days that it gets difficult to know where you saw things…

Anyway, I have used the Shaving Cream technique to colour some white card stock. I haven’t used this techniques for a long time and thought it would be fun to give it a go again.  My son had fun too! 🙂
Butterflies have then been cut out using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, through the Big Shot.  And I admit that some of the Rhinestone bling is not from Stampin’ Up!  You could, however, use the clear rhinestones and colour them using a Sharpie or other permanent marker, in the colours you want.
Another fun challenge, so I hope you play along with us this week.  Check out what my fellow Design Team members have created for this challenge.  Now there’s some inspiration!
Get out your glitter and rhinestones and anything else that qualifies as bling! And happy stamping!

Gift Tags

I have recently been commissioned by a florist, to make some gift tags.  These are some of the ones she wasn’t interested in 🙂  but I thought I would share them with you anyway.   I have a few of these that were experiments until we found exactly what she was looking for.  I will have these for sale at the Marion Indoor Markets tomorrow, along with lots of goodies for Mother’s Day.
Not sure about you but I absolutely adore these little die cut butterflies!  They get used for a whole heap of things around our house, in particular some of my son’s craft activities! 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day, to all the Mum’s out there for tomorrow. Hope you have a very special day.
Happy stamping.

Yellow

Yellow is one of those colours that I just don’t use very much, so this week’s colour challenge from Our Creative Corner wasn’t one of my favourites.  But thought I would give it a go anyway. The colours are yellow, Kraft and White, so I have used Daffodil Delight which is probably my least used of all the colours.  But I will admit that I quite like it in the combination used in our new DSP called Attic Boutique, which is the one I have used here.
I have also used the stamp set Field Flowers, and lots of paper piercing and “Faux stitching”.    Now that I have my sewing machine up and organised I might start doing some real stitching on my cards!! 🙂
It is probably difficult to see in the photo, but I have also used some Crystal Effects on the main flower to give a bit more depth and shine.
Well, that’s it for today.  Hope you have a crafty weekend.
Happy stamping, Chris.
