No Stamp Card

Yep, that’s right.  Today I thought I would make a quick and easy card with no stamping required.  Last night I had some of my card and papers out and was looking through it, then put it down to do something else, and when I came back I had this colour combination there in front of me.  So I thought I would use it in a card.  I have used some of the papers from the Palette of Prints promotion from earlier this year which is no longer available, however you can still get these papers in some colours, so please contact me if, like me, you just love them and have to have lots of them 🙂

Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper: Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst

Accessories: Urban West Rub Ons, Black Brads, Cream Half Back Pearl (from Pretties Kit), Scallop Circle Punch (for the cut out corners).

Watercolour Joy Wheel

Today I thought I should post a card using one of the Stampin’ Around Wheels to fit in with the Stampin’ Up! promotion which starts tomorrow (see earlier post for details).  This particular wheel is not part of the promotion but it goes perfectly with one of my favourite stamp sets Heartfelt Thanks.  The card is a simple concept of repetition, and while it is simple I think it is effective.  I have also used a watercolour technique for the flowers.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can use Stampin’ Around Wheels and make the most of the current promotion, why not hold a workshop so that I can show you and your friends how easy and effective they are.  Just send me an email dotdotstamping@tpg.com.au

Sorry about the quality of the photo, we had a dark and dismal day today but enjoyed the rain anyway.  I will try to take a better one when the sun comes out again.

Stamp Sets: Heartfelt Thanks, Watercolour Joy Wheel.

Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Blush Blossom, Very Vanilla.

Ink: Perfect Plum, Watercolour Wonder Crayons in Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke.

Celebrate!

I’m back – finally, I hear you all say! 🙂 Very nasty ‘flu that one.  Jamie, Doug and I have all had it and it has taken us weeks to get back on our feet.  And unfortunately stamping wasn’t at the top of my list of things that needed to be done, in fact for about 2 weeks I just didn’t even have the energy to sit for long enough to make a card.  Well, I have lots of catching up to do 🙂

Todays card is inspired by a lot of different things.

Firstly, the inspiration behind the colours was this beautiful bunch of flowers given to me for my birthday recently by my very special brother Rod.  Aren’t they just gorgeous?

Secondly, my fantastic upline Larisa O’Donnell is always coming up with such beautiful work and is a constant inspiration.  You can check out Larisa’s blog for yourself.    She did a card using the mosaic technique, which I have never tried so thought it was time I did so.

And thirdly, another amazing lady, Shelli Gardner (Cofounder and CEO of Stampin’ Up!) is now running a creative challenge from her blog and this particular challenge is just to use the word Celebrate.

So here it is!  And what are we celebrating, you might ask?  For my family, I think it has to be getting over the ‘flu and actually being able to get on with life again.  Maybe the warmer weather.  Spring.
