I have seen quite a lot of these flowers made in various ways, and thought it was time I had a go.
This particular flower is made using the Ornament Punch, and was really quite easy to make. I have also used a sponge dauber and some Pretty in Pink ink to add some colour to the edges of the petals. I have some ideas as to what I would like to do with this which involves making more of them – definitely addictive! So watch this space for more flowers 🙂
And in the meantime, happy stamping (or flower making!).

Cute Boot!
I just had to share this gorgeous little card that I made on the weekend. Isn’t it just adorable? Yes, it opens up so that you can write on the inside.
The design and template for this card comes from another of my fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, Tanya Bell. She is a very clever lady and has some other fantastic things over on her blog. So thanks Tanya, I had heaps of fun making this one.
Tanya has inspired me, so I might have to have a go at designing this sort of card myself. 🙂
These little shoes would be fantastic for a christening card, birthday card for a really young child, or even a baby shower invitation.
Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more.
Happy stamping!

“What Not to Stamp” Makeover Challenge
This was lots of fun!! This week’s challenge at Our Creative Corner comes from Lori Rider. The challenge is to go hunting through those old cards, you know the ones….. that you made when you first started stamping or the ones that just didn’t quite work, or what Lori calls “cringe-worthy” cards 🙂 Then choose one or two things about that card that you do like and use those on a new card. Ahhh but, you have to show us the old card, and the makeover card. So have fun with this one. I know I did!
So here is my cringe-worthy card – one I made very early on and is about the second post on my blog, wayyyyyy back about 4 years ago.

And for my makeover card I have used the grid technique for the background again, a similar layout, and various shades of pink.

The grid is so much easier now that we have the diagonal score plate, much easier than the old way using a ruler and bone scorer!! I have then added some ink to the cardstock by inking up one of my large clear blocks and lightly stamping that directly onto the card stock. I have then used a slightly darker pink (Pretty in Pink) to stamp the swirls. I have used the lovely, elegant stamp set “Elements of Style“. The main image has been double stamped, first with Pretty in Pink ink, and then over the top and slightly off-set in Rose Red. This gives the outline a slightly blurry look. Then I have coloured using a blender pen. But be wary when you are using this technique as the Rose Red ink can bleed very easily, so I just dotted the colour inside the outline and have “worked” the colouring as little as possible. The butterfly is from “Kindness Matters”, and it has been edged with the darker colour, using a marker.
Like I said, I really did have fun with this one, and I hope you’ll play along this week too. Make sure you check out all the other transformations from the rest of the Design Team.
Happy stamping!

Our Creative Corner Colour Challenge
Well, here it is! My very first Design Team post with Our Creative Corner!
Sharon Wheet over at Designs by Sharon has set this week’s challenge, which is:
Create a paper craft item and use the challenge colors: Navy, Pink, and whatever other color you decide. You pick the missing color, any color; Kraft, Yellow, River Rock, Gray, Metallic, etc. (Neutrals don’t count: black, white, cream, or brown).

For my card, I have used the colour Pool Party (one of my all time favourites), with Navy and Pink, and I love the way these colours go together. I have also used the stripes on the containers in the photo for inspiration.
You can check out what the rest of the very talented team have created here. And I hope you join us with a creation of your own.
Happy stamping!

My news…..
Finally, I am going to share with you my very exciting news! 🙂
I have been asked to be a member of the Design Team with Our Creative Corner! I have been taking part in their challenges for many years now, on and off, so I am thrilled to be part of this very talented bunch of lovely ladies.
I will be back later today with my card for this week’s challenge, so stay tuned for that, and I hope you will join in too.

RAK
Just a quick post today, but I wanted to share with you a gorgeous RAK (Random Act of Kindness) that I received from the lovely Melissa at Bee Divine Designs
. Thanks heaps, Melissa, it’s always special to receive some happy mail, especially when it has been made with so much care.
Happy Stamping!

CyberStamping
I have been a little quiet of late, but only because soooooo much has been going on in my life. Good things, I might add. Keep your eyes open and in the next few days you will find out my fantastic news that I am really excited about.
But in the meantime, I am going to share with you some cards that I made for a recent CyberStamp, run by the wonderful and very talented Carolyn Bennie. We had a lovely evening of stamping and chatting!
The first challenge was to make a card using the colours Night of Navy and Marina Mist. I used the Need for Speed stamp set for the main image, the splodges in the background are a stamp from the French Foliage stamp set, and the greeting is from the Sweet Cake set. The texture on the navy card stock is from the Houndstooth Embossing folder. I am loving this embossing for male cards!
The next challenge was a sketch challenge, and I have kept this card nice and simple, probably because it was starting to get a bit late at night by this time!!
The stamp set is Up, Up & Away, and I have stamped the balloons onto separate card stock and then cut them out to add some dimension. The colours are Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo and Concord Crush, and the Designer Series Paper is called Cheerful Treat, and is one you can earn if you host a stamping party! And you know how to do that… just send me an email and I’ll bring the party to your place!
Hope you are having a crafty week.
Happy stamping!

Dynamic Duos
Uh oh, I found a new challenge to take part in!! Dynamic Duos challenge #7 this week, is to use the colours Melon Mambo and Basic Black – yummo, what a sensational combination! I’ve combined this with this week’s sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. And here is the result:
I have used Field Flowers stamp set, and embossed the flower image with white embossing powder, directly onto the Melon Mambo Cardstock. The black layer has been dry embossed using the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The greeting is from the Perfect Punches stamp set, with some pink half-backed pearls (non- Stampin’ Up!). Some strips of white card stock punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, and some of my favourite faux stitching in black, as a finishing touch.
Loving this colour combo!
Happy stamping!

Happiness
This week’s challenge from Just Add Ink is to CASE something from the blog of the very talented Delys Cram. So here is my version, using the Kindness
Matters stamp set. You can see the original from Delys here. The other stamp set I have used, for the greeting, is called Heard from the Heart, and is another favourite of mine, although I have a feeling it may not be available for much longer.
I have stamped the three butterfly image in Rose Red, then stamped the centre image in Black Stazon onto a separate piece of card stock, coloured it using ink and blender pen, and then cut it out and mounted it with a touch of glue in the centre so that the wings can be lifted off the base.
I have also used the gorgeous Seam Binding Ribbon and Vintage Brad.
I quite like this card, it is nice and clean, which is quite different to a lot of the cards I have been making recently. In fact I like it so much I think I will have to try it in a different colour. Stay tuned…. 🙂
Happy Stamping!
Chris
