Christmas in July Reminder

Just a quick reminder to share your Christmas projects with us at Crafty Boots Challenges this week, for our Christmas in July Challenge.

Once again, my card features a gorgeous kitten image from Aurora Wings, this time in a gift box.
Happy stamping!

The Male Room – Spots and Stripes

For the next couple of weeks at The Male Room we want your masculine style projects to include SPOTS AND STRIPES.  Don’t forget you can make any type of papercraft project – but it must be for the men in our lives – both young and old.

CHALLENGE#15

I have used some polka dot papers for my background and then layered some strips of cardstock in various colours on an angle over the patterned papers.  Such a great way to use up some of those strips that we all seem to collect.

The car stamp and the sentiment were freebies from a magazine I bought recently.  Both the car and the “Happy” have been fussy cut and mounted on dimensional tape.
I hope you will join in with our challenge at The Male Room.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Christmas in July at Crafty Boots

This week at Crafty Boots Challenges we are doing Christmas in July.  I have to admit that it has certainly been cold enough here in this part of Australia this winter and we have had falls of snow a number of times.  We don’t normally have a white Christmas in Australia, so it is nice to be reminded of what a traditional Christmas feels like.

My card for today’s challenge features this gorgeous Kitten in a Stocking image from Aurora Wings.  The image has been coloured with Copic Markers, then fussy cut and mounted over some silver cardstock.
I hope you will share your Christmas cards with us at Crafty Boots Challenges – it’s never too early to get started on those Christmas cards!!
Happy Stamping!

Simply Papercrafts Challenge 9

Our sponsors for this fortnight at Simply Papercraft Challenges are A Day For Daisies:

and Sassy Studios Designs:

I have made two cards for this challenge, the first using the image from A Day For Daisies called Feeding The Birds.

I have printed the image onto colouring cardstock and coloured it using Copic Markers, then watercoloured the background using ink pads and an aqua painter.  I have stamped the splotches using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (Stampin’ Up!).

My second card uses the Day in The Park image from Sassy Studio Designs.

Again, the image was printed and then coloured with Copic Markers, and then stamped using the Sheltering Tree stamp set for the background.
Happy stamping!

Crafty Girlz Challenges

This month at Crafty Girlz Challenges our sponsor is Stitchy Bears:

I have used the A Bird Among The Branches image for my card.

This is such a beautiful image, that I wanted it to be the feature of my card, so I have kept the card very simple.  The image had been coloured with Copic Markers.
Make sure you join us and share your creations with us at Crafty Girlz challenges this month.
Happy Stamping!

Stars or Stripes Reminder

Just a quick post today to remind you to join us at Crafty Boots Challenges for our Stars or Stripes Challenge.
I have used both stars and stripes for my card today.

My card features another great masculine digital image from Tiddly Inks, Golf, which comes as a bonus with the Father’s Day Vintage Truck image.
I have made this card for someone special who has gone above and beyond to help us find our new house (more about that soon!!).
Happy stamping!

Colouring Books

I thought I would share some pages of colouring I have been doing recently, just for something a little different. Our family have been struck down with a nasty flu that is going around so we have been taking it easy, and spending time sitting in front of the fire, drinking warm cups of tea, reading and colouring!

These first two come from some books I picked up in my local Target (Australia).  I have coloured the top one with different pens which I got from the Reject Shop, gel pens and glitter pens. The second one is coloured with Stampin’ Up! Markers.   This one I found online and it has been coloured with Copic Markers.

Enough from me for now, back to sitting in front of the fire!!

Just Add Ink Christmas Challenge

Christmas in July, that is….  and it is most definitely cold enough here to be a white Christmas in July, in fact the snow has been forecast for the next day or two.  So what better to do, than stay warm with the fire going, and colour!
I have created a card for the current Just Add Ink challenge, using a gorgeous image I found on Pinterest.

The image is actually a colouring page, which I have reduced to card size.  Have you got in to all the adult colouring pages and books?  I have just started and am having so much fun with them, I find colouring very relaxing.
The image was printed on to some white blending cardstock, then coloured with Copic Markers.  I have simply mounted it straight on to some of the new heavier weight Stampin’ Up! Whisper White cardstock.

Stay warm, and happy stamping!

“I’d like to be, Under the Sea…”

It’s time for our new challenge at The Male Room.  For the next couple of weeks we have a theme challenge – your masculine style project must be based on a SONG TITLE.  Be as creative as you like, but please tell us what about the song title inspired your project.  You can make a card, ATC, scrapbook layout, 3D project, but it must be made for those every special folk in our lives – our men, young and old.

Yes, you guessed it! My card is based on the Beatle’s song “Octopus’s Garden”.

I have been singing in my head for the last few weeks…. “I’d like to be, under the sea, in an Octopus’s garden in the shade!”
Anyway….. my card uses some of the fabulous new Corrugated Paper, great for those masculine cards.  The background has been sponged and stamped using the By The Tide stamp set, which is also where the Sea Horse stamp comes from, and the cheeky little octopus is from the Sea Street stamp set.
I hope you will play along with us, I can’t wait to see your Song Title ideas.
Happy stamping!

Crafty Boots Stars or Stripes

I have gone with some Stripes on my cards for this week’s Crafty Boots Challenge, but you could choose either Stripes, Stars or even both!

This first card uses some retired Stampin’ Up! patterned papers, and features the cute little Ellie digital image from Tiddly Inks, which I have coloured with Copic markers.

My second card also uses a Tiddly Inks digi, called My Dads Truck.  I have left the image un-coloured this time and mounted it on some wide striped papers from the new Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack.

So why don’t you come on over to Crafty Boots Challenges and show us your stars or stripes!
Happy stamping!
Chris
