Back from holidays!

Yes I have been away, having a lovely holiday with my beautiful family in Darling Harbour, Sydney.  We did have lots of fun at the aquarium, Sydney tower and heaps of other things to do and see in the area.  And although it is lovely to be home, I have to admit that now it is quite difficult to get back into the routine of everyday life.

Firstly, today is your last chance to make the most of those fantastic deals on Rhinestone brads and ribbon.  The rhinestone brads are such a great way to add a little extra bling to your cards and scrapbook pages, and at that price you can get some in each shape and colour.

Also, due to the recent announcement from Stampin’ Up! about their colour renovation, some items are starting to run low.  At this particular time there is very little Close to Cocoa cardstock left, so if you like this colour you need to contact me asap to place your order.  There will not be re-runs of colours now, so once they run out they will no longer be available.  So if you have a favourite colour that is retiring, don’t leave it too late, better to place your order early to make sure you can get it before it runs out.

And so to a card!  I have been doing some watercolouring recently and this was one of my experiments which I was quite pleased with.

Stamp Sets: Seaworthy, Fresh Cuts (greeting), Weathered Background.

Cardstock: Bordering Blue, Confetti White, Watercolour Paper.

Inks: Black Stazon, Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, So Saffron.

Accessories: Aqua Painter, Twill Tape, Small Grommets (retired).

And stay tuned for a new promotion from Stampin’ Up! for July, with more great deals.
Happy stamping,

Sunshine and Flowers

We have had such beautiful sunny, spring weather here in Canberra recently, so most of the cards I have been making have been in the same spirit – warm and sunny, or full of flowera and butterflies.:) The card I want to share with you today uses some of the Twill Tape, which I have stamped a greeting directly onto with Black Stazon Ink.  I have also watercoloured the main image with my favourite tool, the Aqua Brush, and have again used ink to do the watercolouring. The image is from A Flower for All Seasons Stamp Set, which is another of those really versatile sets, fantastic for watercolouring, or can be used without watercolouring.

It all looks a bit crooked and out of whack, but I promise it is just my photo. 🙂

Stamp Sets: A Flower For all Seasons, Fresh Cuts.

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Good Morning Sunshine Designer Series Paper, Watercolour Paper.

Inks: Black Stazon, Old Olive, Summer Sun, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, Ruby Red.

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Twill Tape, Linen Thread, Aqua Brush.

Hope you get some time today to do some Stamping.

More Fresh Cuts

Today’s post includes a few different cards that I have made using either, or both of the new Fresh Cuts Stamp Set and Fresh Cuts Notes, just to give you some ideas on how these can be used in different ways.

First is a card I made this afternoon using colours from a challenge – the colours are Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze.  I just love the way Stampin’ Up! introduce new colours which go so well together with their current colours.  This is a perfect example, and I just love the way these three colours go together.

Stamp Set: Fresh Cuts

Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, Whisper White.

Inks: Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze.

Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Oval Punches x 2, Scallop Circle punch (for the inverted corners), Vintage Brads, Whisper White Tafetta Ribbon.

The next two both use the Fresh Cuts Notes, but they are so very different.  The first uses the Poppin Pastels technique to get the changes in colour across the stamped image.  And the second uses white embossing to create a completely different look again.  I have also used some of the gorgeous new Flower Brads from the new catalogue.

If you are interested in learning some of the techniques used in making these cards, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I run classes in my home on a regular basis.

New Hostess Sets

This cute stamp set is another of the new Hostess Sets which will be available from April 1st.  I think it is just fantastic, there are so many ways the different components can be put together, or used individually, and I will post a few different ideas I have had with this set over the coming days.

I don’t use my Bold Brights colours enough, so thought I would do so for this card, and use lots of nice bright spring colours (even though it is definitely autumn here), it’s quite cheery!

Stamp Sets: Window Dressing, Fresh Cuts (both available from April 1st)

Cardstock: Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Pink Passion, Pink Pirouette.

Inks: Black Stazon, Basic Brown, Pink Passion, Gable Green, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Real Red, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence.

Accessories: Paper Snips, Small Circle Punch, Markers, Blender pen.
