Cute Owls

It’s been quite a while since I have used my owl punch, with so many new goodies available it’s not really surprising, but I thought it was time I got it out and gave it another work out.  Today I have used it to make some thank you cards for a few of my customers.

The card base comes from the Hip Hip Hooray card kit, layered with some of the Lullaby patterned papers.

Keeping it short and sweet today.
Happy Stamping!

Be The Star

Such a useful, versatile and fun stamp set, Be The Star is my focus stamp set for this month, and therefore the stamp set you will receive if you are taking part in Stamps in Your Letterbox in July.  It’s a great stamp set for cardmaking and scrapbooking, for children of all ages, boys and girls, masculine cards, and definitely Christmas cards.

I have combined Be The Star stamp set with the Stars Framelit dies, the zigzag stamp out of  the Work of Art stamp set, splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set, some of the great new black and white Baker’s Twine and some Washi Tape out of the Everyday Adventure Project Life kit, but you could just as easily use one of the other Washi tapes available (page 190 of the catalogue).  The colour combo I have used for this card is Basic Black, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay.

Happy Stamping!

Stamps in Your Letterbox!

The first month of Stamps in Your Letterbox is ready to go!
For those of you who have already signed up, yours are in the mail on the way to you, and I will be emailing a PDF to you in the next couple of days.  I am running a little behind this month, but be sure that you will still get heaps of ideas and inspiration for using your new stamps.
And for those of you who are wondering what I am talking about, you can get all the details here.

This months feature stamp set of Stamps in Your Letterbox is the “Be The Star” stamp set (Page 93 of the catalogue), and I am going to be showing you lots of ideas during the month to use this stamp set.

Today’s card uses the colours Crumb Cake (Kraft), Very Vanilla, Night of Navy and Pistachio Pudding.  The Pistachio Pudding layer has been stamped with the Hardwood Background stamp with Crumb Cake ink, then stamped with the little stars in Night of Navy ink.  The Happy Birthday stamp comes from the Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit, and I have inked it using markers in the two colours.  Then tie some Linen thread around the small panel before adhering it the front of the card. The stars have been hand cut and popped on with some dimensionals.

If you haven’t yet signed up for this months Stamps in Your Letterbox, there is still time to do so, just leave a message or comment and I will get back to you.
Happy stamping!

Stamping Fun!

Yesterday afternoon I held my first stamping get together since moving to Cooma, which was really exciting.  Not only did we have a lovely afternoon of stamping and chatting, but I met some lovely ladies who share my passion for crafting.

The ladies got to make two projects, and since we had some complete novices, I kept the projects fairly simple.
We started off making a tag (or bookmark), using the Scallop Tag Topper punch.

Then we made a card.  Both feature the fabulous new stamp set Work of Art and some of the gorgeous new In Colours and Stitched Satin Ribbons.

Special thanks to the ladies who shared the afternoon with me, I certainly had a lovely time!

Check back soon for more, as I have heaps of crafting to share with you! 🙂

Mojo Monday 350

Another card challenge for you this morning, this time a sketch from the ladies at Mojo Monday.

My card features a gorgeous flower which I have coloured using the Blendabilities. I have done two of them, then cut them and layered them, and I have also given them two coats of Crystal Effects to give them a lovely sheen.

Here is a closer look at the layers of the flower.

Freshly Made Sketch Challenge

Another very quick post, I just wanted to share this card I made late this afternoon using the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

It was late and the light was fading so I apologise for the quality of the photo, hopefully it is sunny tomorrow and I will try to get a better photo, but in the meantime……

A little bit of sneak peek on this card, the cute stamped hearts come from another new stamp set called Groovy Love.  I have used the Hearts a Flutter framelits to cut around the stamped hears, along with a paper Doily and some of the lovely Silver Ribbon.

Just Add Ink Challenge

A quick post today to show the card I have made for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge.
My card again uses lots of new goodies from the soon-t0-be released new catalogue, but I am having so much fun playing with new stuff that I just can’t help myself! 🙂

The card uses a Project Life card which I have stamped the image onto, then done some paper piercing around the arrow to highlight it, and the cute bicycle image is from the new hostess stamp set Life’s Adventure.

Create with Connie and Mary Colour Challenge

I thought the colour challenge from Create with Connie and Mary (CCMC308) would really be a challenge for me, they are definitely not colours I would normally put together.  However, since it’s the middle of winter here, and I like a challenge, I decided to have a go and create something bright and cheery.
Here are the colours:

I also thought I would like to use some of the new Project Life products which will be available when the new catalogue goes live on the 1st July.  Just one of the many things I love about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is being able to get these products in advance to show you what can be done with them.

Becky Higgins, the founder of Project Life, has now partnered with Stampin’ Up! to bring authentic Project Life products to you in Stampin’ Up! exclusive colours and designs.
Don’t know what Project Life is? Project Life was developed as a quick and easy way of keeping memories and photos alive, without the time involved with traditional scrapbooking, it’s simple, easy and fast and keeps your photos organised.
Today I have made a card with some of the Project Life products, no stamping on this card!  I will be making up some pages using Project Life to share with you as well.  As a homeschooling family, I find Project Life the ideal way of keeping records of the things we have been doing.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
Happy stamping!

Blooom with Hope

I have had such a busy week or so, and I promise that I will share some of what we have been doing, and not just stamping and crafting!  We are just loving our new home and having heaps of fun exploring the area. Some photos will follow soon. 🙂

I made this set of cards as a thank you to a lovely hostess for all her work in getting a group of ladies organised for a morning of stamping recently, and have used the gorgeous new hostess set (available 1st July with the new catalogue) called Bloom with Hope.  And of course I had to have another play with my Blendabilities!
The colours are not great as I was taking the photos at night. The cards are actually made with Whisper White Cardstock!

There are six cards in all, using different images from the stamp set and different colours of Blendabilities.

I have also used some pieces of a new stack of patterned papers called Moonlight DSP – gorgeous combination of colours!

We are having a bit of a joke at our house at the moment, my response to doing anything other than stamping involves me speaking like a petulant child and saying “but I want to colour in!”  🙂
Blendabilities are so much fun!  Can’t take life too seriously. 🙂
And last but definitely not least…. Mr Pumpkin Head!  Now, I know it is not Halloween, but it is winter here in Australia and we decided to have fun with a pumpkin and make a Jack o Lantern.  Not bad for our first try. He looks fabulous all lit up at night.

If you live in Cooma, NSW or the surrounding area and would like to find out more about my stamping classes and parties, please feel free to contact me.  Leave a comment, or send me an email and I’ll get back to you.  And yes, I am still doing parties and classes in Canberra as well.

Hope you are having a crafty day!
Happy stamping!

Hardwood Stamp-a-Stack

Just one of the many things that I love about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, is seeing just how much chaos a group of ladies can make with cardboard, ink and punches!  Seeing them starting with pieces of cardstock that make no sense at all, and then seeing it all come together.  It always makes me smile!
So I want to thank all the ladies from the Time Out on Tuesdays group, who definitely made me smile this morning!
This set of cards was a little more difficult that I would usually design for a Stamp-a-Stack, however this particular group of ladies had all done some stamping and cardmaking before, so I thought a bit of a challenge wouldn’t hurt.  I think they all enjoyed themselves.
Anyway, here are the cards they made, all featuring the Hardwood background stamp.  This is a really versatile stamp, and I will definitely being showing you some more cute things to do with this stamp.

They made some pretty girly cards in different colours……..

As you can see, these ones also feature the Petite Petals and Papillon Potpourri stamp sets with their matching punches.

The sentiments come from the Wetlands stamp set…….
which we also used to do some cards with a more masculine flavour.

Thanks to all of the lovely ladies in the group, and a special thanks to Heather for organising everything.  I had heaps of fun!
Happy stamping!
