Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs

My card today features the Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs stamp set, without the Hedgehogs!

It’s been a difficult couple of weeks for me, I have struggled with quite a lot of what is still going on around the world. I am sure there are many who are also struggling with what has become a long and drawn out situation which none of us would have chosen.

I’m not going to get into politics or even my beliefs, all I am going to say is that while I know there are many who are suffering a lot more than I am, I don’t believe there is a single person on the planet at the moment, who doesn’t need the sentiment on my card.
Happy Hedgehogs is such a cute stamp set, and I have chosen to colour the tree and butterfly with watercolour pencils. The coloured image is combined with a panel which has been embossed with the wonderful Hive Embossing Folder and one of the gorgeous Bumblebee Trinkets.

It’s not always easy to stay positive right now, but that is my message today, just hang in there.

Try Stampin on Tuesday Sketch #541

The sketch for this week’s challenge at Try Stampin on Tuesday is this one, perfect for Valentine’s Day if you are into celebrating it, or you could change the heart to another shape. There is also the option of making it a little more challenging by using the colours Red, Pink and Gold.

My card features the Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper, along with some retired gold bits and pieces. Sometimes it’s good to hold on to some of the retired stuff!

I don’t have any heart dies (I must fix that situation!!) so I have fussy cut one of the bigger hearts from the Designer Series Paper and then cut a white one to frame it. The “stitching” around the hearts is done with a Stampin’ Write marker.
This is a great sketch, if you don’t have any patterned paper, you could colour block and use two different coloured cardstock, or two different embossing folders. So many ideas!! We love to see your creations so please share with us at Try Stampin on Tuesday.

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Hello with Sunshine and Rainbows

On Friday I received a Big Brown Box full of “new to me” goodies, and I just couldn’t wait to start playing!

I had already coloured some of the images from Friendly Hello with my Stampin’ Up! watercolour pencils, it was just waiting for the right additions! I just love the Sunshine and Rainbows Designer Series Paper which is available from the Sale-a-Bration catalogue until the end of February. The issue was, which one of all of those gorgeous papers to use as my background. I chose this one to match the centres of the flowers.

Also in my order were some of the beautiful Opal Rounds, and also a punch which has been on my wish list for a very long time – I am very happy to finally have it – the Detailed Trio Punch. I love it!!!

Stampin’ Up! Wildlife Wonder Quick Card

Sometimes I just need to make a quick and easy card, that allows me to create without too much thought, or stress or time. And that’s what today’s card is. Quick, simple and easy.

The owl, a sentiment and a few sprays of flowers stamped directly onto the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper, which is then mounted straight onto a card base of Merry Merlot Cardstock.
Done!
Now I need to get on with cooking and getting food prepared for the next few days.

Stampin’ Up! Sentimental Rose Card Kit

I love the gorgeous rose image from the Sentimental Rose Card Kit, just beautiful, and easy to use. And of course, the kit itself makes it so easy to make some gorgeous cards. The cards above are made almost exactly the way it says to in the instructions.

And then this is the box that comes with the kit and decorated as per the instructions.

But then I had to make something different, so this one is my design. And I think I will use the rest of the kit to make completely different card ideas. Or maybe a box. Heaps of ideas, as always. 😁

Calming Camellia Card Set

Yesterday I shared a single card that I made with the gorgeous Calming Camellia Sale-a-Bration Host set in this post, and today I just wanted to show you the entire set of 5 cards I have made using the same technique, and a little more information.
I’ve often wondered why we don’t decorate the back of our cards, after all, it is part of the card and just as visible to the recipient as the front.
I am also of the opinion that we are now, more than ever, going to be needing to send people letters – as in, real “snail mail” hand-written type letters, sharing our news and our lives. We need the connection it creates.
And so this set of cards is all about those two things. There is no stamping or decoration on the inside of the card, leaving the entire space available for writing a letter.
And the back of the card is decorated.
Here is the card base, Crumb Cake cardstock stamped with Crumb Cake ink:

And then the full card with the front decorated:

And the full set of five cards:

The colours I have used in conjunction with Crumb Cake are from left to right:
Blackberry Bliss, Evening Evergreen, Merry Merlot, Soft Suede and Not Quite Navy. The colours in the photo don’t quite do the depth of colour in the cards justice.
My favourites are the Blackberry Bliss and Evening Evergreen. How about you?

So to achieve this look, I have stamped the gorgeous flower image in the one of the colours mentioned above, and then using the White Craft ink and a Blender Pen, coloured the petals of the flower. The white craft ink over the stamped image changes the shade of the original image, making it a lot lighter, and making it look as though there is a lot more colouring than just adding white over the top.
I have then added some green to the leaves and some Soft Suede to the stem, also using ink and Blender Pen.

I loved making this set of cards, I may just make a couple of sets to give as gifts to family.

Stampin’ Up! Calming Camellia

My card today features the beautiful Sale-a-Bration Host Stamp set, Calming Camellia, which I have stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock with Night if Navy ink. Then using a Blender Pen I have coloured it with White ink on the petals, Old Olive on the leaves and Soft Suede on the stem.

I plan to make a set of these and some tags as well. They will make a beautiful gift.

Stampin’ Up! Daisy Lane with Embossing Paste

Hello and welcome back. My card today is another which features both the Daisy Lane stamp set and matching punch, and the Embossing Paste on Clear Window Sheet to create a background.

NEW! January Class in the Mail

With global shipping issues starting to effect all businesses, including Stampin’ Up! especially here in Australia, we need to start looking at ways to continue creating beautiful cards and projects, both for our own enjoyment and creativity, but also to help others who may be needing something to smile about.

My class is designed to show you how you can use any Designer Series Paper you have (or can get) to make beautiful cards, and how one design can look completely different using different Designer Series Papers.
This class has 4 different designs, and you will make 2 cards from each design with different Designer Series Papers.
This is one of the projects using the gorgeous Sale-a-Bration Designer Series Paper “Friendly Hello”.

Since this is the first Class in the Mail that I have done for about 10 years!! please be patient with me, I am still figuring out how to get everything working smoothly.

And here is my challenge to you today, send or give a card as a Random Act of Kindness (RAK), and put a smile on someone’s face, you just never know how much of a difference that could make. Go for a walk around your neighbourhood and put a card in someone’s letterbox, just saying hi, even if you don’t sign it. We need to come together and support each other and our individual communities to get through this difficult time, so let’s make a card, and then give a card.
