Christmas at Just Add Ink

This week’s challenge at Just Add Ink is to use the picture below as inspiration for a Christmas project.

Well, since it is never too soon to start making those Christmas cards, I thought I would get started!
I have used the berries in the left picture as inspiration for my background, and the lovely silvery ice combined with red as my colour combination.

The background of my card is made using the Large Polka Dot embossing folder (Page 227 of the catalogue), which I have then added some Silver Metallic Encore ink (Page 211) to using a sponge dauber (Page 210). Kind of reminds me of snow falling even though they are not snow flake shaped 🙂
I have used the Star Framelits (Page 231) in the Big Shot to cut the stars from the Red and Silver Glimmer paper (Page 193), some of the pretty Silver Ribbon (Page 206) and a Merry Christmas from the More Merry Messages stamp set which is currently on our carry over list (ask me if you would like to know more).  I have wanted this stamp set for soooooo long, I finally bought it for myself, it has lovely Christmas greetings 🙂
Why don’t you head on over to the Just Add Ink blog where you will find heaps of inspiration for Christmas in July projects.
Happy Stamping!

  1. Your silvery dots do conjure up snowflakes Chris and look wonderful combined with that great glittery star. Its a lovely combo! Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.

  2. I love the simplicity of this card. The glitter paper within your star is perfect. Great to ink and emboss the dots. Chantell JAI

  3. I love your take on the inspiration sketch this week and the dots in the background really look fab.
