I imagine I am not the only one who finds the Stampin’ Up! catalogue an ongoing source of ideas and inspiration, so when I found out about a new challenge that has just started up, called CASE-ing the Catty Challenges, I had to take part. What a great idea!
This week’s challenge is to use the Gift and Packaging section (Pages 6 – 23) of the catalogue to find some inspiration, or even to copy something directly from the catalogue. Well, if you can’t find some inspiration in that section there must be something wrong! I didn’t know which idea to start with!
So I am going to show you two boxes that I have decorated, and also link you to a previous post where I have used the catalogue as inspiration for some boxes.
Firstly, I liked the weaved strands of ribbon on the long yellow box on Page 15, so I wanted to give that a try.
I have then added a star, gold embossed onto Night of Navy cardstock, with a white star layered underneath. The ribbon going lengthwise goes under the acetate layer, so that the box can still be opened easily.
And the second gift box was inspired by the ribbon on the square yellow box, also on Page 15. I had fun with this one too, but in the end it’s not all that difficult. I have used some of the Chevron Ribbon (Page 207).
These Tag a Bag Gift Boxes are available to purchase (Page 201), include the box base and an acetate sleeve, and make for fabulous easy packaging ideas.
And if you missed some of the boxes that I posted up recently, you can have a look here.
Happy stamping!
Chris
