OCC Colour Challenge

This week’s challenge at Our Creative Corner is a colour challenge, to use the colours Lime, Poppy, Pink, Black and White, along with either fabric or circles (or both!).  Lori Rider has given us a photo for inspiration for this challenge:

For some reason I struggled a little with this one, I have ended up with three cards made using the colours, but I will only show you one today. 🙂  Might show you the others another time.

I have used the Twitterpated fabric as a background and have stamped the swirly image from Precious Butterflies (Hostess set) in black Stazon ink, directly onto the fabric. I have then stitched the fabric onto the black card stock using my sewing machine!  Yes, you heard right… I used my sewing machine!
For the leaves I have used the Little Leaves Sizzlit Die, and the white flowers Blossom Party Originals Die.  The little flowers are made using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch set.
This one is a little different for me, but I enjoyed the challenge.
Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team’s fabulous creations.

Have a great weekend, and happy stamping!
Chris

  1. Hello Chris
I cannot believe you struggled, I think the fabric Bg is gorgeous, and something I would do; so naturally it solicits my interest. The different textures along with your dimension makes for a lovely card, and I think you have executed this Challenge in a superb way.

  2. Love the way you have introduced the fabric into your piece, Chris. It looks so fabulous as a background. And the flowers are sensational, especially the white ones. Just a really wonderful design and an all-round beautiful birthday card – someone is going to be thrilled to receive it.

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

    Hugs,

  3. Well Chris,
I think it’s funny that you “struggled” with this card because when I saw it, I “struggled” to get back in my chair! Wow or WOW…it’s so beautiful. You have truly designed an intriguing focal point here with sooo much depth and beautiful precision. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I would love a peek at the others sometime in the future…I can only imagine they’ll be just as divine! 🙂

  4. Hi Christina! Before I get to talkin’ about your beautiful card, I wanted to make sure to officially extend a big, huge welcome to the OCC team. I’m finally back after a couple weeks off and realized I never popped by to let you know how much I am looking forward to working with you. Your card is gorgeous! Love the way you used the fabric and those fab flowers. This one was worth the “struggle” you say you had with it…WOW! Awesome! Hope you had a great weekend! Hugs! 🙂
