Maritime Birthday

Here is the card I made for a lovely young friend of ours who recently turned 9.  And of course, I wanted to use some of my new goodies, and show you another sneak peek.  Who can resist new Stampin’ Up! goodies….. I know I can’t 🙂

Isn’t the paper just gorgeous?  I adore this colour combination, it’s wonderful for masculine cards, so bright and cheery.  And the only stamping this one has, is for the sentiment, which is from the Label Love stamp set and matching punch.  The DSP is called Maritime.
Hope you are having a crafty weekend.  And for those of you in Australia, a crafty long weekend! 🙂
Happy stamping!
Chris

Life’s Adventure

Another sneak peek for you today, more new goodies from the new catalogue!
Just couldn’t resist this cute stamp set, called Life’s Adventure, it is a hostess set which contains some gorgeous images that can be coloured.
I wanted to use the sketch from this week’s Mojo Monday challenge, and I have used some of the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Pack as a background, along with the cute little fox image from Life’s Adventure.

I have again used the Blendabilities, this time I have also used them to colour the button.

These products are from the new catalogue, so not available yet (unless you are a demonstrator), so you will have to be patient and wait until the 1st July to get yours! 🙂

Here’s the sketch that the card is based on:

More challenges

When I printed off the card front for this card I printed four copies on one sheet of cardstock, and planned to do something different with each panel, so here is the second card using that same image, made in My Digital Studio (MDS).
I have used this week’s great sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge:

and I used heaps of layers on my card so that I can enter the card into the current Just Add Ink challenge, which is to add layers to your project.

So you will have seen in the previous post that I have made the card front using MDS and some stamps that I don’t own, which is the great thing about making them digitally.  I have then printed off the digital image that I created, and used it to make some cards.  This card includes some of the gorgeous Silver Bakers Twine (#132976), some of the patterned paper from the Subtles Paper Stack, lots of layers and a little bit of faux stitching.  The colour combination is Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.

Lets see what else I can come up with for the other two card fronts, but in the meantime…..
Happy Stamping!

Mojo Monday 338

Another great sketch this week from the girls at Mojo Monday, I am loving these slightly unusual and quirky sketches.

This one called out to me to use some retired papers (unfortunately retired….) , I just love the colour combination in these papers, and the card came together really easily, using only the papers and some added cardstock.

Gasp… no stamping!
Sent with Love is the name of the DSP, shame we can’t still get hold of them, but sometimes it is good to be a patterned paper hoarder like me 🙂
Happy stamping!

Time to share…..

My computer was out of action for such a long time that I have quite a few photos here of things to share with you, so I will post up a few now, and perhaps some more in another post tomorrow.

This is a really pretty project I made using the Envelope Punch Board – I’m not sure what you would call it, an Envelope Card perhaps…..

Anyway, it’s just making the envelope and then putting a flat piece of stamped cardstock into the centre, then making a belly band to go around to hold the envelope part closed.

I have used the Gingham Garden papers, the Mixed Bunch and  Morning Meadow (Hostess set) stamp sets.
I love how bright and cheery this card is, especially now that the cooler Autumn weather has arrived here.  Still, it’s a good excuse to stay out of the chilly wind and do some crafting!

I am entering this card in this week’s challenge at The Paper Players – they are looking for a clean and simple card celebrating spring!
Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketches #127

Another cool sketch again this week at Freshly Made Sketches…….

I thought this one would be great for a masculine card, and since I haven’t played much with the Harvest Blessings stamp set, I decided this would be the perfect opportunity.

My background paper comes from the Soho Subway DSP and I only noticed after the card was complete that there is a little blob of blue at the bottom.  No, not an ink blog, it is definitely part of the paper, I just didn’t quite manage to get the paper cut so that it was off the edge.  I’m not sure if my faux stitching around the edge hides the blob, or actually highlights it, but never mind!
The tractor from Harvest Blessings is stamped in Pumpkin Pie, the flag in Early Espresso run through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then sanded to get that lovely effect with the Coordinations cardstock, and I have used a retired paperclip with a knot of twine at the top.  Nice and simple!
Make sure you check out all the talent at Freshly Made Sketches!

Freshly Made Sketch #126

Yes I am still here….. I have had a few other things to deal with recently with all of us in our household coming down with the dreaded cold bug that is around in Canberra at present.  We are all on the mend, and getting back to “normal” – not sure that “normal” really describes our familyin any way……
I think my computer also came down with it, I had to take it to the doctor to get it fixed too.
Anyway, yes I have done some stamping! Yay…. 🙂
I love this week’s card sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and just had to have a go.

I have used the gorgeous Watercolour Wonder papers along with the Springtime Hello stamp set.  Lots of layers in this one, and of course some faux stitching as a finishing touch.  I just love the different angles of the layers in this sketch, they really create some interesting lines. The card may look crooked in this photo, but it’s not…. not really 🙂
What do you think?  I enjoyed using some different colours for this card, yellows and oranges are not colours I use a lot, but I felt like something bright and cheerful!
Happy Canberra Day for those of us in the nation’s capital, it has been a glorious autumn day, but definitely feels like summer is still here.
Until next time, Happy Stamping!

More Envelope Punch Board

Yes, ok, I admit it, I am addicted……. to my Envelope Punch Board!
I have had a few people asking for some basic instructions on how to use this fantastic tool, so I thought I would share with you a video made by Mary Fish, which explains the process very clearly and simply.  Thanks Mary.
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq23wwHPeZM

And here is my card in the same size as the one in the video with matching lined envelope.  This time I have used standard cardstock to make my envelope (in Pumpkin Pie), and while it is a lot heavier than a standard envelope, it will still go through standard mail ok, and protect your wonderful handmade creation a lot better too!  Of course, you can also use patterned papers for the envelopes if you prefer.

I have used the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185) for this card.  Halloween is not something that we celebrate much here in Australia, but I loved the colours of these papers and thought they would be great for some masculine cards!  And the stamped image is again from the Love You More stamp set (#131853) available until the 27th January 2014.
So make sure you get your order in for these items before they go, by clicking here.  And feel free to leave a comment or send me an email if you have any questions.
Happy stamping!

Sweet Sorbet

Using more of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper today, and of course my fabulous Envelope Punch Board, to create another cute gift set.

The card also features the Love You More stamp set (#131853 Clear, #131850 Wood), which is available during the “Whole Lot of Love” promotion until the 27th January 2014 or until sold out.  And while this set is a Valentine‘s set, I think this particular one has a whole lot of other uses! 🙂

And I have lined one of the standard white Stampin’ Up! envelopes with the papers to match the set.

This cute little pouch can be made in a number of different sizes using the same sized piece of patterned paper, just changing where the punches are made to create the different sizes and shapes.  It just uses a belly band around to keep the pouch closed, but is so quick and easy to make – perfect for those last minute gifts.

The idea came from a fellow demonstrator from the UK Michelle Last, you can see her blog and video on how to make the pouches here.  Thanks for sharing Michelle, love how simple and easy your instructions are.

Hope you are celebrating the holiday season with some crafting time too!
Happy stamping!

Envelope Punch Board

I couldn’t wait to play with my Christmas present, the new Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board!

I have used the punch board to make not only envelope, but also the little slider box.

I have used some gorgeous new papers which will be available during Sale-a-Bration, starting on January 28.  Aren’t the colours just gorgeous?  Lots of other goodies available free during Sale-a-Bration, so make sure you contact me to find out how you can make the most of it.

The papers are called Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Papers (#133521 available Jan 28 2014).  As well I have used the Chevron Embossing Folder, Hearts a Flutter Framelits (#130159), Label Love stamp set (#130622 Clear, #130619 Wood), the Artisan Label Punch (#130920) and of course the Envelope Punch Board (#133774).   You can order any, or all of these products by visiting my Stampin’ Up! website here.
