Kintsugi Inspirations

Kintsugi Inspirations is the name of the patterned paper I have used for my card today.

Kintsugi Inspirations is on Page 59 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual catalogue. I love all the gorgeous blues and pretty florals.
I have adhered the background layer onto a card base of Misty Moonlight cardstock, and the retired Scallop Contours Dies have been used to cut a layer using Cloud Cover cardstock – one of this year’s In Colors. The vase on my card has been fussy cut from the paper.

My card is based on the sketch which is one of the challenges this month with Craftin’ Round the World Challenges.

You can join in with our challenges at our Facebook group here, and we are also on Instagram.

Happy Stamping!

Sunrise Sailing

Hi there!
Well, it has certainly been a long time between posts. I am still here and still crafting, and feeling like I am starting again from scratch with cardmaking and blog posts. But sometimes, that’s how life goes.
While I have been doing a fair bit of crafting, I haven’t been doing any cardmaking, there’s been a lot of crochet, journal making and pyrography, and I might start sharing some of those here as well as my papercrafting.

Despite all of the challenges I have been facing over the last few months, I am still a member of the lovely Design Team for Craftin’ Round The World Challenges. And today’s card is using the Sunrise Sailing stamp set and coordinating embossing folder, along with some of the Peaceful Garden Designer Series Paper which will be available in the upcoming mini catalogue, available on the 3rd September, and which also contains a lot of gorgeous Christmas goodies!

That’s it for today, thanks for reading along.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Sketch Saturday #765

Welcome back to another Sketch Saturday challenge.

For this fortnight’s challenge we are choosing a sketch from the Archives, and there are heaps of great sketches there to choose from. The challenge this time is to use a sketch from 2014, which I have.

Here is the sketch I have chosen, only I have turned it on it’s side.

I have chosen to use some of the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper as a focus for my card today, with distressed edges and heaps of sponging.

This DSP definitely has a winter feel to it, unlike out weather here in Australia, it has been so hot, and only just the start of summer. I think it’s going to be a long, hot summer, but that means lots of time at the beach!

You can find the rest of the Design Team’s ideas for this challenge on the Sketch Saturday blog.
Why not join us and share your projects inspired by our sketch? We love to see what you have been creating.

Hope you have a crafty weekend.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Sketch Saturday #764

Welcome back to another Sketch Saturday challenge.

Here is the new sketch for your inspiration, and this fortnight we are adding the additional challenge of putting some distressing on to your project.
I generally love adding distressed edges to my projects however I felt that the pretty papers that I featured look better with clean edges.

For my card I have used some of the patterned papers from the Secret Garden Scrapbooking kit, which is available to purchase. The kit contains heaps of gorgeous items including stamps, dies, stickers and of course, these gorgeous papers.

The flowers are all cut from the patterned papers. So pretty!

Sketch Saturday #763

Welcome back to another Sketch Saturday challenge.

I’ve been missing in action for the last couple of sketch challenges as both my son and I were down with a very nasty flu which has been going around here. It certainly was nasty and laid us both low for a few weeks. But we are both well again and enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Here is the new sketch for your inspiration, and this fortnight we are adding the additional challenge of making a sympathy card, however I have chosen to make a Christmas card.

I have combined some of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper with the beautiful Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper for my card today.

Sketch Saturday #759

Hi and welcome back for the next Sketch Saturday sketch inspiration. Here is the new sketch.

I’m on a mission to get a heap of Christmas cards made this year, so for my Design Team card I have used some of the new A Little Bit Festive Mix and Match Specialty Designer Series Paper which includes some cute die cut images as well as the Christmas papers.

I have started with a cardbase in Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then a layer of Basic White Cardstock before adding the two different patterned papers, which are actually the same sheet of paper reversed. And the images are some of the die cuts that come with the papers, so this is a really quick and easy card to make.
The sentiment comes from the Trucking Along stamp set, which was stamped with Cherry Cobbler ink, and then die cut with some of the Stylish Shapes Dies.
I have used a Corner Rounder punch which retired a long time ago, but I like to use still.

We love to see your take on our sketches so please share your projects with us on the Sketch Saturday blog.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Heart of Christmas Blog Hop

Hi and welcome.
Today is the first time this year that I am taking part in the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop.
Each week some of the members of the Art with Heart Team share their talent and ideas with some wonderful Christmas inspiration.

My card today uses some of the Sentiment Christmas Suite, including the gorgeous Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper. So yummy!!
These are in the Mini Catalogue which goes live in just two days time, on the 4th September, 2024.

The stocking image is stamped with Stazon ink onto Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper, and watercoloured with inks and a Water Painter.
Over the top of the white areas of the stocking, I have added some silver Metallic Enamel Effects which I have brushed on.
The layer of Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper has been distressed around the edges and sponged with some Crumb Cake ink, and then adhered to a Pretty Peacock cardbase. Before I added the stocking, I lightly flicked some white craft ink onto the paper but it doesn’t show up well in the photo. I have also added some dots of gold Metallic Enamel Effects onto the paper and also a couple on the stocking image and the bow.

Next along on our Blog Hop is the lovely Christine Blain.

If the next button link is not working or you’d like to see the entire list of participants in our Blog Hop today, you can head over to Sharon Davern’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy hopping along through all the Christmas inspiration.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Annual Catalogue Sketches – Sketch #21

Hi again, and welcome to the second last of the sketches on page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Here is today’s sketch.

Instead of the circles, I have used some Zinnia’s from the Simply Zinnia Bundle, an Online Exclusive which is still available to purchase.

My cardbase today is some Early Espresso cardstock, with a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock over the top which has been run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.
Behind the Zinnias is some of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper, which has been framed with another piece of Early Espresso Cardstock.
The Zinnias have been coloured using Watercolour Pencils in reds, orange and yellow, and then blended lightly using a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, which also adds some glitter to the flowers.

Only one more of our sketch inspirational posts to go, I do hope you have all enjoyed seeing what I have done with each of the sketches. Please let me know your thoughts, I always enjoy receiving comments from you.

And don’t forget the Country Woods Designer Series Paper is on sale until the end of August, as well as some of the other papers in the Annual catalogue.
Happy stamping,
Chris

Sketch Saturday #758

Hi and welcome back to another Sketch Saturday challenge.
Here is the new sketch for our inspiration, a lovely sketch that you could do so much with, or keep very simple.

The only issue I had with this sketch was deciding which of the many ideas I would use for my Design Team card for today.

I have used a piece of the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper over some Crumb Cake cardstock for the background, and I have lightly inked the edges of the DSP with some Crumb Cake ink, just to take away the white of the cut edge.
And I have done the same with the layer of Melon Mambo paper which comes from the Countryside Rose Designer Series Paper, a paper which was only available to Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators but I loved the colour of it behind these flowers.
The flowers and leaves come from the Fully Flowering Ephemera Pack, so are already cut and coloured for you.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you will share your projects with us at Sketch Saturday.
Happy Stamping, and don’t forget the sale on Designer Series Papers which has only a few days left, and you can make the most of by clicking here.

Happy stamping,
Chris
