It’s been a while….

I didn’t run away, but have had some issues with my computer which has made it really difficult to post here.  So I do apologise for the break in sharing my creations.  Don’t alarmed though, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been creating 🙂 it just means I have lots of blogging to catch up on.
Here is a set of cards I made recently with a stamp set that I have just got, the Giggle Greetings set.  I have kept the cards simple so that the image and greetings are the main focus.

I enjoyed making this set,  sometimes simple is good 🙂  but I think I am feeling the need to get into some vintage / shabby style creations, but I still lots of other things to share with you first. 🙂
In the meantime, happy stamping!

Wetlands Sympathy Card

It’s never easy having to come up with a quick Sympathy card, so I went looking for inspiration on Pinterest…. lots of inspiration on Pinterest for all sorts of things!
I liked the idea of the watercoloured background and the simplicity of the card, but as usual I have made my own modifications.

I have used a sheet of watercolour paper and the Aqua painter to colour the background over the stamped image from the Wetlands stamp set, which was stamped, along with the greeting, in black Stazon ink.  Pretty simple really, just use lots of water, and keep on adding ink and blending until you are happy.

Happy stamping!

More Envelope Punch Board

Yes, ok, I admit it, I am addicted……. to my Envelope Punch Board!
I have had a few people asking for some basic instructions on how to use this fantastic tool, so I thought I would share with you a video made by Mary Fish, which explains the process very clearly and simply.  Thanks Mary.
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sq23wwHPeZM

And here is my card in the same size as the one in the video with matching lined envelope.  This time I have used standard cardstock to make my envelope (in Pumpkin Pie), and while it is a lot heavier than a standard envelope, it will still go through standard mail ok, and protect your wonderful handmade creation a lot better too!  Of course, you can also use patterned papers for the envelopes if you prefer.

I have used the Witches Brew Designer Series Paper (#132185) for this card.  Halloween is not something that we celebrate much here in Australia, but I loved the colours of these papers and thought they would be great for some masculine cards!  And the stamped image is again from the Love You More stamp set (#131853) available until the 27th January 2014.
So make sure you get your order in for these items before they go, by clicking here.  And feel free to leave a comment or send me an email if you have any questions.
Happy stamping!

Sweet Sorbet

Using more of the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper today, and of course my fabulous Envelope Punch Board, to create another cute gift set.

The card also features the Love You More stamp set (#131853 Clear, #131850 Wood), which is available during the “Whole Lot of Love” promotion until the 27th January 2014 or until sold out.  And while this set is a Valentine‘s set, I think this particular one has a whole lot of other uses! 🙂

And I have lined one of the standard white Stampin’ Up! envelopes with the papers to match the set.

This cute little pouch can be made in a number of different sizes using the same sized piece of patterned paper, just changing where the punches are made to create the different sizes and shapes.  It just uses a belly band around to keep the pouch closed, but is so quick and easy to make – perfect for those last minute gifts.

The idea came from a fellow demonstrator from the UK Michelle Last, you can see her blog and video on how to make the pouches here.  Thanks for sharing Michelle, love how simple and easy your instructions are.

Hope you are celebrating the holiday season with some crafting time too!
Happy stamping!

Envelope Punch Board

I couldn’t wait to play with my Christmas present, the new Stampin’ Up! Envelope Punch Board!

I have used the punch board to make not only envelope, but also the little slider box.

I have used some gorgeous new papers which will be available during Sale-a-Bration, starting on January 28.  Aren’t the colours just gorgeous?  Lots of other goodies available free during Sale-a-Bration, so make sure you contact me to find out how you can make the most of it.

The papers are called Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Papers (#133521 available Jan 28 2014).  As well I have used the Chevron Embossing Folder, Hearts a Flutter Framelits (#130159), Label Love stamp set (#130622 Clear, #130619 Wood), the Artisan Label Punch (#130920) and of course the Envelope Punch Board (#133774).   You can order any, or all of these products by visiting my Stampin’ Up! website here.

Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmas!

Slightly belated, but I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Christmas Day.
Here is a little bit of Christmas creativity to share with you, before I move onto something different in a later post.

100_9088

As much as I love Christmas, it is such a crazy time of year that I find myself looking forward to the slower more laid back days which follow it, and find myself wanting to move forward.
So stay tuned for another post to follow shortly with something completely new!
Happy Stamping!

More Flurries

I have seen so many gorgeous ideas using the Festive Flurry Bundle  (Wood #133284, Clear #133285) that I just had to share another project.  I think I will have to use them to make some Christmas decorations this week!

I’m not sure if I am keen on this card, I think the stack of snowflakes makes it a little heavy, and you certainly wouldn’t put it into a standard envelope and send it through the post in Australia!  Guess I will be making a special envelope for it 🙂
The colours I have used are Rich Razzleberry and Smokey Slate (which is a very versatile colour!), a piece of the Silver Foil Sheet (#132178) which has been run through the Big Shot (#113439) using the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, (#129984) some silver Glimmer Paper (# 124005) and Silver Ribbon (#132137), and of course some of my all time favourite – Faux stitching.
This week’s SUO Challenge #85 is to use non-traditional Christmas colours in a project, so I will be sharing this card with the ladies there.  And there is heaps of great inspiration on their blog if you are looking for some ideas.

Happy Stamping!

Festive Flurry

Today I was fortunate to be able to share my love of stamping and creating with a group of ladies who get together and craft every week.  They requested something for Christmas, so we made some cards and decorated a box using the Festive Flurries stamp set,(Wood #131778, Clear #131781) and matching Framelits Dies (#132193), (Bundle – Wood #133284, Clear #133285)
The first card was this one:

The colours I have chosen are Smokey Slate, Pool Party and Island Indigo.  The Smokey Slate is a lot darker than it looks here, so all we did was to stamp off the ink before stamping it onto the cardstock, which makes it a lovely silvery grey.
Then we added a “belly band” to one of the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes (#130927):

And our third project was another card, this one using the Starburst technique.

Here we also used some of the gorgeous Winter Frost Specialty papers (#132341), which are just so pretty, and a small piece of the Silver Foil Sheets (#132178).
I am usually a traditional girl when it comes to Christmas colours, but this year I am just loving these colours.  Nice to have a change sometimes 🙂
I am also loving these Festive Flurries…. yep, plenty more of those coming your way!
Happy stamping!

Special Season

I haven’t really fallen of the face of the earth, just been rather busy…. a trip to the US in October, a bit of break from crafting and now it’s time to share some of the many creations I have been making over the last couple of weeks.
I absolutely love the Special Season stamp set in the current Seasonal Catalogue, and it has had a work out since it arrived!
Last night I held the first of two Christmas Stamp-a-Stacks, featuring… yes, you guessed it Special Season (Wood #131766, Clear #131769) combined with the traditional colours of the Season of Style DSP (#132340) papers.  Here are the cards that we made:

The sentiment on this first card comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set (Wood #130042, Clear #120024), which is framed with some of the Gold Foil Sheets (#132622).  You can be sure you will be seeing some more of the Gold and Silver foil, its a great way to add a touch of something special!

We had a lovely night, lots of laughs, and lots of stamping… what more can you ask for? 🙂
My next Stamp-a-Stack in on Wed  11th December at  7.30pm, so if you live in the Canberra area and would like to come along, send me an email.
I do have a lot more to share with you, but I think it can wait for another post.
If you would like to order any of the items I have used in these cards, you can do so here, just click on the “Shop Now” button at the bottom of the page.  And please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Happy Stamping!

More Wetlands

This week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is my inspiration for today’s card, and the colour combination inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest recently.

The colours are Crumb Cake, Crisp Cantaloupe (such a gorgeous colour!) and Whisper White, and I have used the gorgeous Wetlands stamp set again, loving this set at present 🙂
I have also run the long banner through the Big Shot with the Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder.

Happy Stamping!
Chris

UPDATE:  I am feeling very blessed to have been chosen by Linda Callahan as her “winner” this week.  Thank you Linda.  I had so much fun making this card, it is always an honour to know that others like my work too.
