Use a Sentiment

The challenge for the next fortnight with Crafty Boots Challenges, is to use a Sentiment.
That leaves it right open to interpretation, doesn’t it?  Also makes it really easy for you to show us some of your projects 🙂
My project for this week’s challenge is a masculine card:

Sentiment 1

I have used the Adventure Awaits stamp set, and combined that with some papers from the Adventure Bound DSP stack, both of which are perfect for making masculine cards.
We love to see all your gorgeous projects, so please share them with us at Crafty Boots Challenge Blog.
Happy stamping!

Yellow Roses

A very quick post today with a reminder to join us for the current Crafty Boots Challenge, Hearts and Valentines.

My card uses lots of retired Stampin’ Up! goodies today, including the ribbon, lace, patterned paper and I think even the die that I used to cut the heart is retired 😦  Oh well, it’s good to use up some old stuff, it makes room for new stuff, right? 🙂

Stay tuned for more projects coming soon!
Happy stamping!

Hearts and Valentines

This week’s Crafty Boots Challenge is “Hearts and Valentine’s“.  Let’s see some of that romantic in you and share with us a Valentine’s card, wedding page or card, perhaps an Anniversary card.
I have made two cards for this challenge, a cutesy coloured girl, and a more vintage style card.
Hearts and Valentine Challenge CB Feb

This first card uses the very cute Toni Heart Balloon Digital Image from Make It Crafty.
I have coloured the image using a combination of Blendabilities and Copic Markers.  I have then fussy cut around the balloon and the shoes, and then leaving these areas outside the Oval Framelits Die when it was put through the Big Shot.  The gorgeous patterned paper is from the Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack from Stampin’ Up! – gorgeous patterns in this stack, not just hearts but some really cool graphic patterns.  The ribbon is from my stash of goodies and the cute metal heart was long retired and waiting to be used 🙂
My second card uses the beautiful Butterfly Basics stamp set.

Again, coloured with a mixture of Copic Markers and Blendabilities, with lots of layers, some retired ribbon, and heaps of paper piercing!

I hope you will join our challenge this week at Crafty Boots Challenges.
Happy Stamping!

Quick Butterfly Cards

A couple of quick and easy cards made with the beautiful Butterflies Thinlits Dies today, as a reminder about the current Crafty Boots Challenge.

I have kept them  nice and simple today, just some pretty papers and some Baker’s Twine.  The card on the right is a little different, the butterfly has been cut out of the entire front panel of the card, so that there is a hole in the front when the card is open, and the butterfly is adhered to the inside of the card and can be seen through.
Make any project you like, as long it has butterflies on it, and we would love to see it!

Happy Australia Day to all the Aussies, I hope you had a great day!

Butterflies, butterflies and more butterflies!

This week’s Crafty Boots Challenge is to use butterflies on our projects, so I have! It was a good excuse to use the gorgeous new Butterflies Thinlits Dies – not that I really need an excuse 🙂
My first card uses some of the Painted Blooms Designer Series Papers, which are just sooooooo beautiful.  I didn’t really want to cut it up, but if I don’t it will add to my ever growing stash!

I have cut two butterflies, one from white cardstock and then the top layer from the blue watercoloured paper in the Painted Blooms DSP.  The sentiment comes from the new stamp set (which is bundled with the dies) called Butterfly Basics.

Then I did some colouring with Blendabilities, and decided to make the coloured image into another card with lots of butterflies 🙂

This gorgeous image is from Art By MiRan, the papers retired a loooong time ago, and the flowers are from the above mentioned large stash of crafting goodies, and of course, the butterfly was another cut with my new Thinlits.  Oh, should I mention Faux Stitching?? 🙂  It hasn’t featured a lot recently, so I thought I high time to bring it back!
I hope you like them, and hope they inspire you to join us with your own butterfly creations at Crafty Boots Challenges.

Happy stamping!

Colouring Inspiration

I have two projects to share with you today, both coloured using Blendabilities, and both using gorgeous Cute As A Button images.
Firstly, I have covered on of the large Stampin’ Up! Kraft Journals.

Jan Inspiration Project 2

The image has been coloured and then fussy cut, and then layered onto the black background so that the colours are really vibrant.  I have punched some stars out of the black layer and then added a layer of Gold Foil sheet behind the black.

I have also made a card. I just adore this “buttons girl”, and really enjoyed colouring her. 🙂

Jan Inspiration Project 1

The strip of patterned paper comes from the new Stampin’ Up! Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack – lots of gorgeous papers!

Giraffe Baby Card

Today I am sharing a card I have made using this really cute Giraffe from Cute As A Button Digital Images.  Isn’t he just so cute?

The image has been coloured using Blendabilities (of course!) with some of the Lullaby Designer Series Papers in the background.  I have used Framelits to cut the layers of the image, the Ovals Framelits, and the Deco Labels Collection.

Happy stamping!

The Old and the New

A very quick reminder about the current Crafty Boots “Out With the Old and In With the New” Challenge.
I have made a card using a recently retired paper, along with a gorgeous new stamp set called “Sheltering Tree“.

Why not make a project for our challenge? We love to see what you come up with 🙂
Happy stamping!

Moon Lake

Today I am using some new goodies on a card inspired by the current sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

FMS168

I have used a new stamp set called Moon Lake, which I can see is quickly going to become another favourite.

I have combined this lovely image with some of the water paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack (on page 40 of the Occasions Catalogue).  I think that paper looks so real, I just want to dive and have a swim!

I’ll be back again later with another project.
Happy stamping!

Colouring with Blendabilities

Two posts in one day, what?????? 🙂
I know, however I just wanted to share some colouring that I have been doing today with my Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities.
I have been learning some new colouring techniques and today the lovely ladies at Kit and Clowder held a colour pallet competition, using this fabulous image from Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps.

I have used the Rich Razzleberry and Coastal Cabana Blendabilites, along with the Skin Tone Collection. The pearls in the corner have also been coloured with the Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities.

Hope you are having a crafty weekend.
Happy stamping!
