CyberStamping

I have been a little quiet of late, but only because soooooo much has been going on in my life.  Good things, I might add.  Keep your eyes open and in the next few days you will find out my fantastic news that I am really excited about.

But in the meantime, I am going to share with you some cards that I made for a recent CyberStamp, run by the wonderful and very talented Carolyn Bennie.  We had a lovely evening of stamping and chatting!

The first challenge was to make a card using the colours Night of Navy and Marina Mist.  I used the Need for Speed stamp set for the main image, the splodges in the background are a stamp from the French Foliage stamp set, and the greeting is from the Sweet Cake set.  The texture on the navy card stock is from the Houndstooth Embossing folder.  I am loving this embossing for male cards!

The next challenge was a sketch challenge, and I have kept this card nice and simple, probably because it was starting to get a bit late at night by this time!!
The stamp set is Up, Up & Away, and I have stamped the balloons onto separate  card stock and then cut them out to add some dimension.  The colours are Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo and Concord Crush, and the Designer Series Paper is called Cheerful Treat, and is one you can earn if you host a stamping party!  And you know how to do that… just send me an email and I’ll bring the party to your place!

Hope you are having a crafty week.
Happy stamping!
Chris

Dynamic Duos

Uh oh, I found a new challenge to take part in!!  Dynamic Duos challenge #7 this week, is to use the colours Melon Mambo and Basic Black – yummo, what a sensational combination!  I’ve combined this with this week’s sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches. And here is the result:

I have used Field Flowers stamp set, and embossed the flower image with white embossing powder, directly onto the Melon Mambo Cardstock.  The black layer has been dry embossed using the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  The greeting is from the Perfect Punches stamp set, with some pink half-backed pearls (non- Stampin’ Up!).  Some strips of white card stock punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, and some of my favourite faux stitching in black, as a finishing touch.
Loving this colour combo!

Happy stamping!

Happiness

This week’s challenge from Just Add Ink is to CASE something from the blog of the very talented Delys Cram.  So here is my version, using the Kindness Matters stamp set.  You can see the original from Delys here.  The other stamp set I have used, for the greeting, is called Heard from the Heart, and is another favourite of mine, although I have a feeling it may not be available for much longer.

I have stamped the three butterfly image in Rose Red, then stamped the centre image in Black Stazon onto a separate piece of card stock, coloured it using ink and blender pen, and then cut it out and mounted it with a touch of glue in the centre so that the wings can be lifted off the base.
I have also used the gorgeous Seam Binding Ribbon and Vintage Brad.
I quite like this card, it is nice and clean, which is quite different to a lot of the cards I have been making recently.  In fact I like it so much I think I will have to try it in a different colour.  Stay tuned…. 🙂

Happy Stamping!

Reason To Smile

Well, it’s been quite a few weeks since I did any stamping, but it was good to have some time today to get back into it.  The reason for my absence is that I spent 16 days in Sydney
doing a course with an amazing company and group of people.
So I am now a fully qualified Master Practitioner in NLP (google it… 🙂 ), Time Line Therapy (R), Hypnosis and NLP Coaching.
But back to the stamping, I have made two cards today, both of them using a new stamp set called Reason To Smile.  This is a two step stamp and I love the versatility.
This first card was actually inspired by a similar card made by another demonstrator, and I apologise because I can’t remember where I saw it.
I have used the colours Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.
The second card is inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches sketch #38.  The colours here are Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand and Melon Mambo.
Hope you had some time for crafting this long weekend.  I will be back with some more creations soon and with a special offer.
Happy stamping!

Card Swaps

I recently took part in a card swap with a group of ladies who are all Australian Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, and I thought it was time I shared what I had made for them.
I have used the Attic Boutique DSP and Rue Des Fleurs stamp set. To make the dress, I have stamped the bodice part straight onto the Very Vanilla Top Note and heat embossed then coloured it.  I have then cut the V part using a craft knife.  I have then stamped and embossed the Umbrella from this stamp set onto a different piece of card stock, cut it out without the handle and watches which come off the bottom, and then popped it under the V of the bodice, creating a dress.  The dress was heat embossed using Soft Suede and Versamark ink with clear embossing powder, and has been coloured using a blender pen and very light shadings of Poppy Parade ink, with just a touch of Daffodil Delight and Pool Party on the flowers at the top of the bodice.
Doesn’t it make you just want to travel back 100 years so that you wear one just like it?
Happy stamping.

Quick and Easy Male Cards

I wanted to add some more male cards to my stash and recently most of the cards I have been making have been multi layered and quite time consuming so thought it was time to create something quick and easy (otherwise known as QuEasy).  Many people struggle when it comes to making cards for the men in our lives, and I think for me, that is either because I try to over complicate them, or because I always want to put ribbon on a card.  So, here is a card for a man which has ribbon!!
Both cards use the Need for Speed stamp set.  The blue card uses a retired DSP and the Blue Denim Jean Ribbon.  The other card uses Frightful Sight DSP on Cajun Craze cardstock.  Of course, you could do so much more with these, but sometimes keeping it simple works just as well.
Happy stamping!

Another Sketch Challenge

This sketch is from the lovely girls at Our Creative Corner.
I have used the gorgeous Attic Boutique DSP for this card, which I have cut out using the  Framelits Label Collection Dies, and done some free-hand paper piercing around the edge.  The layer behind that has been stamped using the Rues Des Fleurs stamp set and then has been embossed and sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The flower is made using Poppy Parade cardstock, and has a little half-back pearl in the centre which is hard to see in the photo.
I had a lot of fun making this card, so I hope you like it too.
Until next time, happy stamping!

DinoRoar

DinoRoar is one of those stamp sets that I just had to get and haven’t used yet…. silly really, since it is a great set especially if you have boys in your life, like I do.
I seem to be saying this a lot lately, but I am really not happy with how this card turned out, but it’s good for you to know that us demonstrators have our “off” days too!

This card is based on a sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary, which is a one I haven’t come across before.  So you can check out all the great things on their site here. The sketch looks like this:

Come back soon for some more challenge fun.  But in the meantime, happy stamping!

Gift Tags

I have recently been commissioned by a florist, to make some gift tags.  These are some of the ones she wasn’t interested in 🙂  but I thought I would share them with you anyway.   I have a few of these that were experiments until we found exactly what she was looking for.  I will have these for sale at the Marion Indoor Markets tomorrow, along with lots of goodies for Mother’s Day.
Not sure about you but I absolutely adore these little die cut butterflies!  They get used for a whole heap of things around our house, in particular some of my son’s craft activities! 🙂

Happy Mother’s Day, to all the Mum’s out there for tomorrow. Hope you have a very special day.
Happy stamping.
