Merry Christmas!

Just thought I would share this with you.  I made it to put a few choccies in for my son.  I also thought I should use it for the Just Add Ink latest challenge, which is Fancy Packaging! Definitely time to start getting back into the challenges that I so love to take part in.  It’s always good for getting the creative juices flowing!

This is made using the Big Shot with the Pillow Box Die, and I have used the yummy new sparkly silver cardstock which is available in the current Mini Catalogue, for the belt buckle.

I hope you will forgive me for being absent for a while, I have had some health issues but back on track now and I have quite a few things to share with you, as I have been doing some crafty stuff!
But in the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow, and stay safe.
Merry Christmas, and happy stampin!

Autumn Days Class

On Wednesday 16th June at 7.30pm and Saturday 19th June at 1.30pm, I will be holding a class featuring the Autumn Days Stamp Set and Autumn Traditions Designer Series Papers.  Here is a bit of peak at what we will be making:

The cost of the class is $25 and we will make four cards and a box for them to go into, making it a very special gift box to give away or keep for yourself.  This class is suitable for beginners and the inexperienced, but should be lots of fun for the more experienced stampers as well.
As with all my classes, seats are limited so contact me now to book your place.  If you can’t make it on either day, then you have two options, either find a group of your friends who would like to do the class and work out a date with me, and I will bring the class to you. Or I can make up a kit for you to make the set at home in your own time.
I will be back soon with more dates for classes and stamp-a-stacks, including a Christmas in July Stamp-a-stack, so stay tuned!

Birthday Boxes

Yesterday was a public holiday here in Canberra, and was also my lovely sister’s birthday.  She was very, very lucky because I used some of my new goodies from the Autumn / Winter catalogue to make her card and gift box.
This first box is one I made for the gift from my Mum to my sister, and it matches the Tri-Shutter card from this post.  It uses Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red cardstock and inks, as well as Kiwi Kiss Ink, and features A Rose is a Rose Stamp Set.  The ribbons are not Stampin’ Up! but are from my large stash!

The second box I made to hold a photo frame.  The frame was from one of the $2 shops and cost me…. $2! But shhhhhh don’t tell my sister that.  I have used the Planter Box Rub-ons to decorate it and am quite pleased with how it came out.  I did try to take a photo of it out of the box but it didn’t turn out very well, but you get the idea.
And the box is made from Orchid Opulence cardstock for the base, clear acetate for the lid, and the belly band is made from the absolutely divine Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper.  I have also used the Cottage Garden Stamp Set for the three little flowers that decorate it.  And don’t forget, you can order these both from 1st April, although personally, I don’t know how you can stand to wait that long! 🙂

There is a matching card to go with this box as well, but I thought I might keep you in suspense a little and save it until tomorrow!!

So until then, happy stamping,
Chris

Valentine’s Card for Men

I recently had a request to design a male Valentine’s Card for a group of ladies.  I struggled with this at first, my husband and I do usually exchange cards on Valentine’s Day but we don’t place much significance on it.  I also don’t have many stamp sets which have hearts or “happy valentine’s” greetings on them, so I had to come up with something using what I currently do have.  I hope you like the end result.  I also made a small matching box.  We made a similar box at last year’s Stampin’ Up! training night here in Canberra, but I altered it slightly and made it from one piece of cardstock instead of two.  Much easier for my class of beginner stampers and box makers.  And it is just the right size for a couple of chocolates or a small gift.

Stamp Sets: Hello Again (Summer Mini Catalogue), Best Yet (Level 1 Hostess Set), Boho Backgrounds.

Cardstock: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip Patterns DSP.

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze.

Accessories: Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Paper Snips, Markers, Sticky Strip.
