Big Shot Lavender Bags

These lavender bags took less than five minutes to whip up, thanks to my Big Shot and the Scallop Squares Duo die.  They are so quick and easy, just run two layers of the material through the Big Shot, sew around three edges, add some wadding and a teaspoon of lavender and stitch up the remaining side.  I have added some ribbon so that they can be hung in the wardrobe, or pop one inside your sock drawer!
The fabric is from Stampin’ Up! and is part of the Twitterpated range in the Autumn / Winter Catalogue.

I have used my sewing machine for these, but they could just as easily be hand stitched.
I have made quite a few of these this afternoon, some of them using up some retired fabric.  I will have some of them for sale at the Marion Indoor Markets next Sunday (Mother’s Day!!) , so if you live in Adelaide, come and say hi 🙂
Happy stamping!

Freshly Made Sketch #33

Rich Razzleberry is my absolute favourite of all the Stampin’ Up! colours but it has been a little neglected of late, so I decided it was time to make up for that!! The card is based on this week’s Freshly Made Sketch challenges, and uses Simply Soft stamp set (hostess set) which I have stamped with Stazon and then water coloured using a blender pen. The DSP I have used is another much neglected one, called Pocketful of Posies.  I have dragged out the very last (sob…) of my precious Rich Razzleberry satin ribbon (retired) and matching button.  The greeting comes from Field Flowers stamp set and I have popped some half back pearls on either side for a little added bling. I thought I would put this card in for the latest Just Add Ink challenge as well, which is to create something for Mother’s Day.  As many of you would know, my beloved Mum passed away just over two years ago, so I can’t send this card to her, but I know she would love it if she were still here.  She is the person who encouraged me to be creative and enjoy my crafts, so this one is for you Mum. xx.
I like this particular sketch, so just had to make a second card! 🙂 This one is in a completely different style, with lovely bright, cheery colours.  It uses the gorgeous Sweet Shop DSP from the Autumn / Winter catalogue along with Sweet Cake stamp set.  Just loving these colours too, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder.  I have stamped the image onto Shimmer White card stock which has given it that really lovely motley sort of look (not sure how to explain that one! 🙂 but I like how it turn out )  Oh, and don’t forget that cute brad, also available from the Autumn / Winter catalogue. I’ll be back shortly with some exciting offers from Stampin’ Up!. Hope you have a crafty weekend!  Happy stamping! Chris

More Boxes

Yes, I have been making lots of boxes with the scoring tool. Can’t help myself… the tool makes it all so easy!
I have made this slider box to hold four tealight candles, and used the new Framelits to create a clear window so that you can see the candles inside.  I am going to make a stack of these to sell at the next markets stall in a couple of weeks time, they would make a lovely Mother’s Day gift.
Cheerful Treat is the name of the DSP, and I have combined it with Concord Crush cardstock.  You could add more decoration to this, of course, perhaps a flower and a tag, or a lovely piece of matching ribbon around the box.
Happy stamping!

Pretty Pedals

I received some new goodies in the post yesterday and couldn’t wait to use them!  I think this stamp set is just gorgeous and had to ink it up straight away.  It’s a hostess set called Pedal Presents, which I have stamped in Black Stazon ink, and then coloured with markers.
The DSP are new from the now current Autumn / Winter mini catalogue, and is called Sweet Shop – lots of ice cream and cake designs, but I have gone with some of the reverse sides of these because I just love the colours and the hearts.
The layout for this card is inspired by this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but I have turned the sketch on it’s side.

Happy stamping!

Tea for Two

It’s a song my Mum used to sing when I was a child, I think it was popular when she was young ie a long time ago! “Tea for Two, and Two for Tea”.

You might be wondering what that has to do with anything.  This week’s CAS-ual Friday challenge is to create a card based on a song.   I am very impatiently waiting for a new stamp set to arrive called Tea Shoppe which is in the Autumn / Winter Catalogue and now available, but had to be satisfied with making this card using an individual stamp called Share a Cup.  And don’t worry, I will be sharing lots of cups when my Tea Shoppe stamp set finally arrives!  I have also used a sketch from this week’s Stamping 411 challenge, which you can check out on their blog.
The colours I have used for this card are a bit unusual for me, I have used Lucky Limeade, Concorde Crush, Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango.  I have also used the Postage Stamp Punch to punch out the cup images.  This punch was in the previous mini catalogue which ended on Saturday, however the punch has been carried over, so are still available.

It’s here!

Today marks the start of the Stampin’ Up! Autumn/Winter catalogue for this year.  If you would like a copy, please send me an email and I will pop one in the post for you.
This set is made using the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and the Blossom Punch, along with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, the Edgelits Dies and the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder, all out of the new catalogue.
I have been making heaps of these paperclip bookmark.  I sold out of them at the markets a few weeks ago, so thought I had better make a stash of them for the next markets!
And have also covered a note pad as part of this set.
Hope you have a craft Sunday.
Happy Stamping!

Mojo Monday 233

Warning: This post contains materials that may prove to be highly addictive!

On the 1st of April the new Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue from Stampin’ Up! will be released here in Australia, and I can tell you that it contains some of the most beautiful things ever!  So I thought I would give you a bit of a sneak peek.
The card is also my entry for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.

The stamp set is called Apothecary Art.  I have coloured the images using a combination of markers and blender pen.
I have also used the new Twitterpated DSP and Buttons.  I have put one of the mini brads through the button to give the flower a centre, and have used some of the Seam Binding Ribbon.  The other new item that I have used here is one of the set of Framelits Dies, also available on the 1st April.  Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous – I want it all! 🙂  But you have to wait…… unless you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator of course.
But feel free to contact me if you live in the Adelaide area and you would like to learn how to use the tools and gorgeous products I have shown you today.
Happy Stamping!

Black and White with a splash of colour!

That is this week’s challenge from Our Creative Corner, and didn’t that open up some possibilities!!  I have so many ideas floating around in my head for this one that I think I need to spend the rest of the week doing nothing but stamping! Hmm yes well, nice try.
This one features that gorgeous DSP Morning Mocha, and so my “splash of colour” is Soft Suede.

And I enjoyed making this one so much, that I have made a set of cards, all in the same layout and style, just using different colours and embellishments.
Leave me a comment and let me know which one you like best.  Personally, I like the pink one, and my son’s favourite is the blue one, but that’s not really very surprising! 🙂

Happy stamping!

“My Thoughts” Card

I am very happy to be able to tell you that the long spell of hot weather we have been having here is at an end, as of tomorrow.  And while it has given me an excuse to stay in doors in the middle of the day and do some stamping, it is starting to get to everyone.  So the cooler weather will be a relief.
And on top of that, kids are all back at school tomorrow.  For us homeschoolers, that means we get the parks, playgrounds, beaches and zoos etc back to ourselves, to visit without heaps of other people there.  They become “our” parks again 🙂  That’s not to say we avoid other people, but some things are just much more enjoyable when you can take your time, browse, play and just spend as much time as you want to without rushing and pushing.

Anyway, today’s card uses more of the Everyday Enchantment DSP, along with the Field Flowers stamp set, which is my absolute favourite set.  And I have used the Big Shot and Top Note Die (another favourite), along with some sponging and faux stitching.
I had best go and do some stamping while I have the chance – park day tomorrow!!
Happy stamping!

Sale-a-Bration is here!

This time of year is always exciting for us in the Stampin’ Up! family, because it’s Sale-a-Bration time!  Every year, Stampin’ Up! bring out a range of new goodies that are only available during the Sale-a-Bration promotion, and they are always gorgeous, however I do think this year they have done especially well.  Not only lovely stamps, but papers and accessories too (rubbing hands together) – love it!

You may have noticed that I like my patterned papers – just a little bit.  Ok, if you must know, I am completely addicted to them, and have rather a large stash. However, I am determined to use them!

So, what about this paper, isn’t it just gorgeous?  I love the old-fashioned look about it and the combination of colours.  It’s called “Everyday Enchantment”, and like the co-ordinating stamp set (“Fresh Vintage”), it is exclusive to the Sale-a-Bration promotion, so won’t be available after 31st March.
The colours are Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, and a touch of Peach Parfait.
I have used the Finial Press and Designer Frames Embossing folders, and just masked off the edge of the oval frame to make sure the inked image stayed inside the oval.  The stamp was inked with markers, and the edges of both ovals sponged with some Poppy Parade ink to give the edges some definition.

If you would like to know more about how you can get yourself some of these gorgeous but exclusive products, feel free to contact me and I’ll give you the details.  dotdotstamping@gmail.com
In the meantime, happy stamping!
Chris
